@@jayjohnson8216 As I explained in another comment, I played these games alot as a child/teen (from like 9 yos - 17). I played alot of video games in my free time and would always see grown adults spend 8+ hours a day playing these roleplaying games. For example, I would come on a roleplaying game (there were dozens of popular ones back in the early 2010s), stay on for like 30 minutes, go to another game and then come back hours later and see the same people on lmao. It was like that day after day. I would interact with these people and they were usually in their 30s and 40s.

You guys are very clever and I love your soft-prodding style of getting a rise out of people. Forcing others to roleplay nonsense with you has gotta be one of my favorite methods of trolling.
I absolutely love this sort of Esteban style of trolling where the SL people are receptive and laugh along much more than the Derrick or Britbong low effort/hostile/mean/racist trolling style (with patreon tiers like "OG Niggis" and "Proto Niggis") that just aims to get people to rage into their mics and leaves everyone salty. The latter tends to feel a lot like punching down especially given much of the SL userbase is already kinda... special?

@@fatsurprise7892 Insane cope, people go outside because that's where friends, family and physical events (like concerts or sports games) are, and because it improves your health. No normal person goes outside to feel like better people than NEETs. In fact, they have probably thought about the existence of basement dwellers about 2 times in their entire life (unless they know someone personally). Only an insane person would structure their day around activities with bragging rights (to make them feel superior to others) instead of activities they enjoy doing.
That said, outside activities bring a shitton of health benefits that inside activities do not, so aint like its exactly the same shit just with different societal stigma.
Stay inside if you want, go outside too if that appeals to you. Noone lives your life but yourself. Just don't pretend like you've got life all figured out and the other plebians are just following orders, as chances are, most people are just doing what makes them feel good, whether that be inside or outside activities. You probably do the same.
The original commenter was commenting on the absurdity of people doing activities that are traditionally viewed by society as unorthodox, immediately being hostile towards other unorthodox behaviour. Usually, marginalised groups are very welcoming, with an attitude almost akin to 'we are all freaks here, have fun being you'. That is apparently not the dynamic of these servers, which is comically absurd! Why turn into the bullies that you are seeking refuge from? It has very little to do with being 'inside' or 'outside', and everything to do with unorthodox niche subcultures and how they treat newcomers to their group. Plenty IRL subcultural groups have the same problems.
