True, but any man or woman can simply call them selves a person of God and fake their actions in order to push their own agenda. Now the Holy Spirit should show you if they are phony, but I have to agree that there is a lot of feminism in the church. And a feminist agenda is to have men submit to their wives. But the bible did not say that that was the way. The Bible did not say anything about an equal relationship between a husband and wife. This is not to say that the man should not love his wife. But the bible placed the man as the head. A Christian feminist does not hear this when it is preached in church.
How are we supposed to do that when Christian women can't find a Christian man to marry in the first place? A lot of Christian men stay living secular lives and dating secular women... leaving Christian women to be single. I would rather be single than be in an unequally yoked marriage.

I feel the list you're reading from is very broad in its generalization, yet narrowly used to categorize all single Christian women. As a Christian woman, I believe that through the Cross, Jesus gifted Believers with a freedom the rest of the world lacks due to bondage of sin, etc. I feel laughter, genuine fun, is medicine to the soul - that's what I realized after coming out of a bindingly dark, abusive marriage relationship. Since then I've tried dating single, so-called Christian men. The ones I came across all wanted to cherry- pick the Bible, skipping over things like non-fornication, holy sanctification and abstinence; instead using lines like: "Yeah, I believe in the Bible, but I also believe God knows I'm a man first and He wants to see me happy." Or: "I need to make sure we're sexually compatible before I can even think about marrying someone." That was said on a date where I was actually molested by someone who called himself a godly man. So the Word was totally ignored AND I'm supposed to be labeled "sanctimonious" because I didn't buy into his world-based, selfish logic? Well to this day it's hard for me to date any man, let alone a "Christian" one. The title "sanctimonious"? I'll gladly take it - if just to keep me from such abhorrent situations again. Putting a godly Pastor and the Word of God over hypocritically men who uses the Bible to get what they want? You betcha! All you men who have, or will have, grown daughters should be sympathetic to that! If you ask me, there is too much hypocrisy on both sides of the male/female Christian line. My two cents. God bless!
Wow... so beautifully said and so incredibly true. I'm dealing with someone very much like the person you're referring to above... especially regarding the issue of sex, prior to marriage and who is quick to want to debate the issue, when I reference the scriptures. Sadly, he's pursued me off and on for nearly 8 years and I continue to be reluctant to move forward into a relationship with him, because he feels that it's ok to continue in sin (tries to justify the occasional beer and casual sex, because God wants us to be happy analogy), because we have a Savior, that's willing to forgive us for our sins. He also lives in PA and I'm in TX, so the majority of our communication has been via phone or computer. This guy is morally sound, profoundly intelligent, good-looking, educated and a very successful man, but, he lacks the most important factor in a Godly relationship... and that's the fear of God and the willingness to turn away from the very sin that Jesus went to the cross to give us freedom from. If a so-called Christian man can't respect a woman's moral and Christian values, then, by all means, let him pursue the type of women that are willing to accommodate his desires and needs. Because, a true man of God will value, respect and be willing to hear godly counsel, even if it's coming from a woman. She could very well be the woman that God has ordained for him and be his best friend. But, if he isn't in the spirit, he won't recognize it, and he also won't be looking for a way to avoid the truth. Anyway, thanks for sharing this. Sounds like a lot of worldliness and excuses with zero biblical referencing. As a single Christian, I am suppose to be busy serving the Lord and his kingdom. In a dating relationship, a man is not going have the priority as a husband. Submission is a biblical concept. Wives are called to submit to husbands as they submit to Christ. Until I take your name, you’re not entitled to the same benefits as a husband. Not 100% sure where the entitlement came from. My submission and obedience to God should be enough for a Christian man to be interested in a possible covenant with me. Personally , I’m not looking for perfection, I’m looking for consistency in his walk and obedience to God.
Brother Arneal, I think the reasoning behind men considering themselves the prize is due to the fear of divorce court in the culture (this country in general since no fault divorce was put into affect) and how much he'll lose if she's not happy and files for divorce. I'm a Christian brother as well and find that Christian women come off as not playful (jokes wise) sometimes or they play games (manipulate men) like worldly women do when a man seriously wants to court them. Another thing is there's a good amount of Christian women dealing with non christian men (dating and sexually active with them) so when christian men find this out they don't want to deal with them. That's just my two cents.

Your comments are right on. However, let me add by saying that men and women will need to tone down their assumptions and entitled expectations. Yet judgement, should never be suspended. As the bible says, "judge not according to appearance but judge with righteous judgement" John 7:24. I believe this is where all the dysfunction comes from. I think men especially black men unfortunately are too concerned too early in the relationship with women being submissive. When getting to know each other, more attention needs to be placed on mutual submission, instead of focusing on whether or not a woman will submit. If you give the relationship a chance you'll get to see what type of person the woman is and won't even have to ask. Sadly I've met men who wanted to know off the bat if I could recite 🙄 the women's role in marriage 🤦When I encounter this it just makes me think the man is controlling and is not really interested in getting to know me as a person, but just wants to know if I'm going to do what he says. In my humble opinion both men and women need to keep in mind that no one walks into a marriage knowing how to lead perfectly or submit perfectly. It's a learning process where the couple should allow grace to be at the forefront.

But a lot of men in these comments are very hurt and need to heal from the women that has hurt them. There’s a lot of great Christian women who needs a great leader who is a Christian man. Men need emotional validation that speaks to a masculine heart. Men desire verbal appreciation and honor. A woman that encourages strengthens and cares for her man in that way adds value.

I can only speculate that the "Exposure" reasoning has to do with non-formal training not related to religious or spiritual training. Parents for example, sharing with their children what is out there and giving a reasonable understanding of it. Don't just say its bad, explain why. On the other hand, explain things in the general culture that are good. That would include things that are not against scripture. In other words, being culturally exposed to a kind of modified street education and/or being well rounded in subject matter beyond the bible. This would include, while not necessarily being a fan of it, secular music, which would involve having an awareness of some of the artists and the context of their music. This opens a dialog that can be had with the youth, whether male or female. This does not, however, mean the parent doesn't listen to understand the appeal of certain movies. Movies also have certain cultural influences. This doesn't mean they will watch every movie, but how do you intelligently evaluate what has not been taught to you as being good from the culture or bad from the culture If you don't understand the culture period----just a thought.
How many of these points might cause a man to believe he can't win her respect or earn her gratitude? That being said, what's the end-game of dating outside?

Too sanctimonious is the only real problem I've encountered. But i honestly feel like i don't find them attractive because i don't find Christ desirable.
As long as the court system favors women over men, there is no sense in getting married and potentially dealing with that. The US court system was not around during biblical times. I will stay single forever.
Black Christian men need to consider dating African women, they are Godly, feminine, humble, strong and have culture (especially Ugandan, Tanzanian and Burundi women). Black American women do not want to follow the Bible, when it pertains to their role as a woman. They do not recognize God's order, man submits to God, wife submits to her husband as he submits to God. In addition, Black American women think they have spiritual superiority over their husbands. Lastly, Black American women respect their pastors more than their husband.
I am discovering more and more that 90% of the single Black men left in the church are often emotionally unavailable and afraid to take the first step toward exploring what God has for them. A man truly in tune with God doesn't need 10 or 20 years to find a mate. Fear is real with Black men in the church. I have had enough with the hot and cold games of Black Christian men play. I am broadening my scope since the Black men seem.to be afraid to take the step toward seeing what is possible. It takes confidence and maturity for that and the one's left seem to lack both. It's unfortunate. I will see if my White brothers are hearing and acting on God's leading. I can name at least 10 Black men in my church who have been single over 10 years...sad. #tiredofslowchristianblackmen.

Sadly some men not all don’t know the Bible as well as a woman. That is not a woman’s fault. He needs to step up. But they would rather watch ESPN then get to know the BIBLE. That is only what I have noticed. Every man is definitely not like that.

Sounds like a lot of bashing of black women in this video. Thank you again for another great video and discussion thread. But a lot of men in these comments are very hurt and need to heal from the women that has hurt them. There’s a lot of great Christian women who needs a great leader who is a Christian man. A lot of men are addicted to porn, want sex within a month of dating. That has been my experience I would not commit to someone that I am just dating getting to know. And most of Masculine men are not in the church because they want to be seen as the prize well we should just give them a crown or tiara.

Re Fi Many of the domestic examples you list are noteworthy. However they pale in comparison to the value of intimacy, not sex but emotional connection. Men need emotional validation that speaks to a masculine heart. Men desire verbal appreciation and honor. A woman that encourages strengthens and cares for her man in that way adds value.

I can only speculate that the "Exposure" reasoning has to do with non-formal training not related to religious or spiritual training. Parents for example, sharing with their children what is out there and giving a reasonable understanding of it. Don't just say its bad, explain why. On the other hand, explain things in the general culture that are good. That would include things that are not against scripture. In other words, being culturally exposed to a kind of modified street education and/or being well rounded in subject matter beyond the bible. This would include, while not necessarily being a fan of it, secular music, which would involve having an awareness of some of the artists and the context of their music. This opens a dialog that can be had with the youth, whether male or female. This does not, however, mean the parent doesn't listen to understand the appeal of certain movies. Movies also have certain cultural influences. This doesn't mean they will watch every movie, but how do you intelligently evaluate what has not been taught to you as being good from the culture or bad from the culture If you don't understand the culture period----just a thought.

As long as the court system favors women over men, there is no sense in getting married and potentially dealing with that. The US court system was not around during biblical times. I will stay single forever.

Black Christian men need to consider dating African women, they are Godly, feminine, humble, strong and have culture (especially Ugandan, Tanzanian and Burundi women). Black American women do not want to follow the Bible, when it pertains to their role as a woman. They do not recognize God's order, man submits to God, wife submits to her husband as he submits to God. In addition, Black American women think they have spiritual superiority over their husbands. Lastly, Black American women respect their pastors more than their husband.

I am discovering more and more that 90% of the single Black men left in the church are often emotionally unavailable and afraid to take the first step toward exploring what God has for them. A man truly in tune with God doesn't need 10 or 20 years to find a mate. Fear is real with Black men in the church. I have had enough with the hot and cold games of Black Christian men play. I am broadening my scope since the Black men seem.to be afraid to take the step toward seeing what is possible. It takes confidence and maturity for that and the one's left seem to lack both. It's unfortunate. I will see if my White brothers are hearing and acting on God's leading. I can name at least 10 Black men in my church who have been single over 10 years...sad. #tiredofslowchristianblackmen.
