Ironically, Warhammer lore itself allegorically warned us against admitting the woke. When psykers started to emerge among the human race, most were swiftly persecuted and killed. On a few worlds, however, the populace was humane and tolerant, allowing the psykers in their midst to live and explore their abilities. This nearly led to the end of humanity as many of these psykers were then possessed by Chaos and only the emergence of the Emperor saved mankind from extinction.

If the Amazon show introduces female space Marines, then we know show is going to a dumpster fire.
It depends on if it’s handled by Amazon; like Rings of Power, or by an outside studio; like Reacher. One has a quota for diversity in front and behind the camera, the other cares about making money from its entertainment.
At the very least, GW tends to have very strict controls over its IP and unlike, say, Tolkien, actually is still around to enforce that control over Amazon. If any woke crap is in the show, then we know GW gave the go-ahead on it rather than just an Amazon exec.

Funny story, years ago on an entirely different game forum (gritty realistic shooter) I inquired if they were going to add female scavengers mostly because I thought it would add even more grit to the setting, I received a link to a post by the dev team saying no female characters were planned as well some misdirected blowback by people who thought I was an infiltrator. Y'know what I did? Thanked the guy who referred me to the post and got on with my enjoyment of the hobby. That's not an option for radical leftists is it? How would they feel if they added female space marines and depicted what was basically HRT turning them into men as a horrific abomination that destroys their identity, or something wonderous and magical? It's ridiculous that Space Marines can't be all male. Some of the most powerful characters in 40k are female, a good chunk of models are female, and at the end of the day there is an entire faction made up of solely females. It's insane how this dogma exists when it's painfully obvious that 40k is already diverse enough.

I have been a woman in this hobby for about 12 years, never was I ever discriminated against or felt unwelcomed.
My local Warhammer store has always been super nice to me and I enjoy being around everyone on game nights.

I am glad you 40k fans are doing this. I am not personally a fan of 40k - just never piqued my curiosity enough to check it out- but any franchise that can be saved from being woke must be saved. We need good culture and stories for the future.

Warhammer 40k fans have seen the woke mind virus infect and destroy so many fandoms for the past ten years now. Many of us are refugees from these fandoms that have been destroyed by wokeness. I am one of them after Star Wars was ruined. So now they come for Warhammer and this time we are prepared for them.

There are Asian Space Marines (White Scars) , there are Black Space Marines (Celestial Lions, Salamanders), Space Marines based on Polynesian Maori culture (Space Sharks) etc etc...
In fact, there seems to be a Space Marine chapter based on nearly every real world culture I can think of. There is an all male faction (Space Marines) but there is also an all female faction (Sisters of Battle), with every other faction being a mixture of both sexes or completely lacking any biological sex at all (Most Tyranids except Norn queens).

Age of Empires taught me the most important lessons in life. To protect your town you build a wall around it and add a gatehouse to control who can and can’t come in.
Then add arrow towers. Archers and castles. To not only keep the barbarians out but to make attacking your gate so unappealing they’ll have to give up and find something else to go raid.
Arch is a very good castle, spewing hellfire at approaching enemies and keeping the gate safe.

I was at a Grand Tournament many years ago and my friends and I were talking to one of the GW staff afterwards. Really cool guy, and one thing he said has always stuck with me; "I want everyone to know of 40k. I don't want everyone to play 40k." Just imagine if some of these people were your opponent at the game table.

Warhammer 40k is the most diverse universe ever created. It's backed by 1000s of books. Video games. Art. Miniatures. I knew as soon as I heard Henry Cavill was working with Amazon that the wokies would come out in force to try and change Warhammer lore. GW might try to hold the lore in high regard if left alone. However, I suspect that Amazon might be the route to success in destroying the established lore. Amazon is involved in the woke push. Very involved. I trust Henry Cavill to remain true to the lore, but I don't trust Amazon to keep him around if enough pressure is put on them from Vanguard and BlackRock. If he puts up too much resistance they will sack him off and I don't trust GW to support him when money is at stake. We've all seen how readily they throw around the I.P. when it comes to terrible computer games money. If they cared about the franchise as much as we do, terrible games wouldn't get made. But money talks to the greedy (stock holders) the same way a falling person grasps for something to hang on to.
There's already female space marines. Adeptus Sororitas. There's already black space marines. Salamanders chapter. Lgbt space marines already exist. Slaaneshi chaos marines.
Anyone who says there isnt enough "people of colour" or great female characters in 40k have never actually read a single 40k novel, theyve never put together and painted a model, they've never dived into the lore. Hold the gate!!!!
I have a Salamanders army, a Necron army, and a couple of Kill Teams. I've read through the Ciaphas Cain series, Eisenhorn+Ravenor, Path of the Eldar, a bunch of the Horus Heresy (but who has the time to read all of that), and more. Am I 'in' enough to say 40K doesn't have enough black people, when you can't name any black character in 40K who isn't a Salamander? Because I can name at least 30 white characters.
A friend of mine introduced me to 40k via TTS but it didn't really click for me. Then I came across GameSpot's video talking about the Bolter and being a gun nerd, I took notice. I thought "ok, just what are we fighting if a the bolter is standard issue for the Space Marines?" and then came across Luetin09's channel where he goes into the lore and I'm hooked. Don't think I'll really ever get into the tabletop or modeling, but the lore is so deep and vast that it's keeping me occupied very satisfactorily.
As far as I can tell from asking a person who identifies as queer, it means "I am just want to be under the LGBT umbrella but do not actually qualify."
LGBTQ+ is how a dyslexic person spells "bundle of sticks".

I wager a good bit of the pushback comes not only from long time fans who know the lore front to back but also some newer fans who are refuges of the destruction of Star Wars and possibly Star Trek. They've seen first hand what letting these kinds of people in does to a franchise and how badly it can damage it...many an old school Star Wars fan have reached total apathy towards damn near anything Disney Star Wars related and so they don't want to see another hobby or interest of theirs completely screwed over by letting in the tourist. There's also the fact that just in general people are getting sick of this shit coming into their hobbies and screwing them over be they video games, anime, manga, tabletop games, or movies...we've seen the playbook over and over again and tried to be welcoming to everyone wanting to get into the hobbies we enjoy. But at a certain point you can start to notice the ones who really want in...and the ones who just want to use the hobby as one big soapbox to stand on and preach at you from as they set a small fire next to it so it'll eventually burn down and they can rebuild it 'better and more inclusively"...to everyone BUT the original fans and creators.
