I'd rather spend $500 on 6 flintlock pistols and be strapped up like a pirate.
Get six wheellocks. They are much better for the rain/water when you are on your Schooner. BTW, September 19th was Speak like a Pirate Day. Arrrrgh!
Better hope it doesn't rain. You'll have a sword juist in case though.
I'm just saying.. can you imagine how bad ass you would look on the news defending yourself with flintlock pistols and a cutlass? Lmao
Hahahah! You are my fucking idol!
make sure to move up north first, I don't know if they allow it in the south. You'd also need a pretty big jacket to hide all of those, I wouldn't personally, but everyone is comfortable with different guns.
Open carry Hi-point, when they see that hunk of metal they’ll think it twice before trying anything stupid. Getting a hunk of metal thrown at you is scary.
Hi points are awesome.... ugly but awesome. Super reliable and 150 bucks. You guys think you can only be protected by a pretty, and expensive gun.
@J D Giving them a hi point and telling them to shoot with that is the best strategy tho
Lol buy a knife before a hi point 😂😂 frfr
@@shawnjames3212 u will lose ur life carrying a hi point.. trust me.. I'd buy a pellet gun for the same price and will be safer 100% don't tell anyone u care for to BUY a hi point.. that's funny A.F.

Yeah the vid is way longer then it needs to be 🤦🏻♂️
Just about every video I've seen about firearm choice suffers the same symptom: The person doing the video likes hearing themselves speak, so puts fifty words in where five would do.
Just as I have done with this comment! ;-)
What's the point of using 4-5 min to tell us what he is going to say. Just say it.
@@armysgtrandom3555 Jesus. Christ, was thinking the same damn thing...

You earned my like, friend.
Bruh... Thank you.
Travis Kopet you saved me some time I appreciate that.
One more thing: one thing I really wish someone had told me when I started carrying 24 years ago-- *a good holster makes all the difference!*
Spend as much on it as you can, because quality definitely makes a difference- in how it stays in place, retains the gun, protects the gun, guards against printing, etc.!
I've always been a fan of leather and can't stand plastic/kydex, so I went with a Don Hume IWB with a clip. But, to each his own...
That said, as cool as those inexpensive, black nylon holsters may look, they just don't work as well as something that costs a little more... fwiw.
I have been involved with firearms since I was 12. (60 years ago) I am a certified firearms instructor. I teach that the feel of the firearm in one's hand(s) is the most important aspect of choosing a rifle or pistol. If the firearm doesn't fit properly, the shooter will not shoot well and will not have a positive experience. I also advocate buying American made firearms because I feel it's better to support American manufacturers rather than Foreign manufacturers. I'm not saying that Foreign made firearms are of poor quality, most are very good, I'm just saying that it's better to support our own country rather than others.
Ok boomer

Smh Ahhhh, nothing like subtle racism to start the day.
yeah one of the biggest things is choosing a gun that you will actually carry all the time.
Think the 43X will be a real EDC option for me
@@lanceelliott1145 hard to go wrong with that.

Sig Legion = 3/10
G26 = 9/10
Sig P320 = 6/10
PPS M2 = 9/10

I get subjective, but this is flat out bias as hell
Dozens of us, if not hundreds, actually appreciate these adult discussions, with the great tips. Trolls suck, and some suck more. Lots of us are quiet, until we actually have good info to contribute. Intelligent adults can tell the difference, almost immediately. Thank you, sincerely, for a very good address on the subject of CCW for new folks. Hope Trump can get us reciprocity.
Hi, 2 years later: Trump hasn’t done shit for us yet. Partially because he’s a useless clown, but mostly because he’s just a president. They are generally useless.
@@rhabdob3895 My state just became a Constitutional carry state (no license required, as the *UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION* states it should be), because Trump has purposely allowed the states to decide what they want, for themselves.
So, I dont know WTF you're talking about... I think you need to pay more attention, and play 'keyboard cowboy' A LOT LESS... 🖕😒
@@jmmartin7766 Well that is great on the one hand but president Trump hasn't been as pro 2A as I and many others were hoping. I'm not like some of these people who think he's the most anti gun president ever since that would be factually incorrect. But he did pass the ban on bump stocks and opened the door to red flag laws and possibly banning suppressors. Luckily he's dialed it back on those two things now but he definitely needs to do more for us in the gun community. If Republicans take back the House again, then urge your Congressmen to vote and pass the current bill that would take sbr's and sbs's off of the NFA registry and make it to where you no longer need to register to buy an sbr. If that bill passes, that's a good start to getting our right to defend ourselves back in full.
@@zombieslayer7759 Agreed.
@@jmmartin7766 He didn't have anything to do for that, states have had that right for a very long time. Some states have increased their gun regulations and others have given more freedom in the last 3 years. All in all, Trump has not addressed gun laws all that much publicly, and the talk about it has died down a lot since Obama left office, which is the real direction we want to go,. That is, not bringing up political bias to try to get elected every time a shooting makes the news.
I carry the Glock 19 concealed every day. I know a lot of folks who do as well.
the colt model1911.45 is the best handgun ever, because who needs 15 rounds when youre shooting the lords caliber
Lol I like that, the Lord's caliber.

I carry a para 14 45 so I’d rather carry 14 rounds of 230 grain than 9s that are half the size of a 45
thanks for the reassurance on my p320! was my first gun and loved it ever since i first held it at the store. still my everyday carry and I'm actually using the compact over the subcompact so the weight is perfectly fine
I carry a G19, 12:30 appendix all day, every day. The most comfortable holster for me is definitely the Dale Fricke trigger guard holster called the "Zach". It's only around $20.00. It snaps on the trigger guard and is tethered to my belt with a nylon cord. That means 0 added bulk, negligible weight and makes for a safe/secure way to carry a 15 +1 compact gun comfortably all day.
Great video brother, I also would like to say thanks,& I bought a tulster holster because of ur recommendations love it & at a really good price. so thanks & keep em comin &" God Bless America"
+Marty Collins Yeah man glad to hear it
I carry a shield 45. Love it, when wearing a jacket. In the summer I carry the Lowly Ruger EC9s, in my vest. I also have several full sized, in my vehicles, and on my Harleys. Nice video, with some good info.
Love my EC9S as my ccw
Got my .45 Shield too!!! Love it SOOOO MUCH!
Nice guns but I will stick to my early 1980s 3rd issue Colt Detective Special. It's comfortable to carry, easily concealable, as reliable as any gun ever made and with six rounds of 125 grain +P .38 spl hollow-points I feel good to go for anything I am realistically likely to run into.
jec1ny it's a great gun. Would be my first choice for a carry gun.
Taurus g2c is the perfect size to conceal carry not too small not too big holds 12 rounds has lots of features it's reliable I have 1700 rounds through mine without a single malfunction it's comfortable to shoot and has a nice trigger and the best part about it is it's only 200$...

Thank you for taking the time to go into detail on each pistol.
You sure do point your gun every which way when you reload, bruv.
Might want to rein that in a bit.
so were just not gonna note CZ in there? ok.... ok.
I'd say the CZ Rami is a way better option than putting a sig legion on the table. Lol
Or the FNS9-C... Fully ambi, G26 size, factory steel night sights, low bore axis. I mean come on.
Also, yeah the P07/P10C/S should also be in there.
The best presentation and review I’ve seen in years you did a good job
Real good job on this vid and explained ALL pretty darn well.
Carry extra rounds all you want..I need a few and then I am out of there. i carry for self defense not combat.
What if you need to defend yourself against more than one attacker? Criminals are cowards and often attack individuals in groups.
Steven Bobby Bills the glock 26 holds 10 and is very compact. beautiful
Steven Bobby Bills i feel like if you shot one the rest would run.
Just carry 3 or 4 pistols and you don't need to worry about reloads. Peasants.
Jeff Martin very Fudd of you to say.
I like the Ruger LC9 as my daily carry. I alternate between 2 or 3 others. I agree with you on the point of whatever suits an individual.
I use a pt738 / Tcp for summer time and lc9 in winter.
Shild 40 as been by my side since day one. Couldn't ask for something more reliable. Love it.
Thank you for all that great information.
I've carried my glock 26 Gen4 everyday non stop for 2 years, I have 3,000-3,500 rounds through it with not a single malfunction. I believe any glock is the best choice for carry. Good video man, I'll subscribe after this one.
Amen
I carry a glock 19 every day. I also have a 26 for when i have my shirt tucked in or if im wearing shorts and a t shirt
Thanx as always, I purchased my first CCW, a PPS M2 LE after we had a brief discussion in the comment section of your 'Best gun for your first gun' video. Glad to see it show up here.
+Daemos Magen Awesome man. I love the M2
The Ruger SR9C is the right size, weight, capacity, and super performance out of the box. It has a trigger and thumb safety and a mag disconnect feature. It has a "Loaded When Up" flag to alert you to a round in the chamber. It is affordable and ultra reliable. I replaced my SIG P239 with it as my everyday carry gun 2 years ago and never looked back. I've been carrying every day for over 15 years.
Walther PPS M2 9mm in Alien Gear IWB for warm weather carry and PPQ M2 9mm in Alien Gear IWB for cold weather. Had an XDS 9mm, but the Walther was lighter and easier to carry in warm weather, but it's a great gun as well. I also pocket carry the PPS in cargo shorts, conceals well.
+Mark Malave Nice setup bro!
Also love my PPS M1 with Versacarry Pro holster...pro series entirely covers the trigger.
Walther P99c AS. Its decocker and double action trigger has convinced many to start carrying one in the pipe without fear of a ND.
These are all too big for EDC IMO. You want something that you'll basically forget you're even carrying. P365, LC9, G43, etc. are the kind of gun you ought to be looking at. Small!! These things are too big for my tastes for carry. For home defense they'd be great, but then I'd just go for the full size variants.
Now the hellcat
Great video,, very informative!!
Great video, really helpful, exactly the kind of video i was looking for!
+Zakul K Awesome thanks for watching
Very good video
Actually one of the best I’ve seen in this subject
As a full size Sig Sauer owner
I can tell you that your thoughts on a full size Sig are pretty much on target.
I carry a P226 in 357 Sig
And it requires a great belt and high end holster
I carry it everyday but I can see where it’s not for everyone
I have many of those guns, love my Glock 19's and my Sig 229's and though I can carry the G19 in a G-Code holster but not so much the Sig. We can open carry in Texas so I will do that but carrying the 229 is like carrying a kettle bell on my waste all day long lol. A good holster and gun belt is a must. I custom order my gun belts. For deep carry, my G43 or Walther PPS is what I use. My P30SK is another deeper carry, G26 size, but doable. Anyway, good video.
Bunk Man when using your G43 do you use the stock 6 round clip or did you add extensions or buy a extend clip because I bought one Nd I been think what I should do about the clip and I seen a drum for it but it hard looking for a single stack clip
@@playb0y.t911 you may want to try using punctuation. Also, it's a mag, not a clip.
Open carrying makes you the first and biggest target bro
Great minds think alike. I too picked the Glock 26 and the Walther PPS M2 for my carry guns. My love for them started in 2014, and like you, I've owned and carried a lot of them. I do use a S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 for backup because the G42 can touch it for deep concealment (thought I still feel it's a great option).
Hegshot you do an amazing job in your videos. You stay on topic, keep the attention of your audience, strong professional demeanor of one who truly knows his weapons. Keep up the good work. Bravo Zulu
I recommend the smith & wesson mp shield, nice and small, I find most first time conceal carriers but a gun too big to carry comfortably then they don't carry
I have a Canik TP9SA & at times it feels like to much of a pistol to CC. I am picking up a Walter PPQ for carry, it is smaller & think it will remind me of when I carried the XD9
Liked the video, man. I appreciate the professional presentation. Subbed. Have a good day.
All good ! Good points to make use of thank you.
The Springfield XDM Compact is quite great.
Got the Springfield XD 9mm subcompact. Love it as my carry
Same here
I have the PPS m2 LE which comes with an 8,7, and 6 rd clip. It also has night sights. I love my m2 and I'm really glad to see(after having already purchased it) all the positive reviews. Thanks for an in depth comparison and lots of good info. Keep it up
Great video, Thanks Man

S&W stub nose 500 magnum in an underarm holster with 10 extra rounds on the other side. And they have to be 300 grain hollow point rounds.
What's a stub nose?
Just the concussion of the shot would kill them...😂😂😂
i have higher tolerances for every day carry, but not that much.
So you got your snub nose and your stub toes but aint never heard of no stub nose
I carry my Sig P320 compact everyday.. I love it..
Check out the X-Compact frames! Huge improvement over the original Compact
SIG P938 is an excellent platform -when trained extensively with, then again, most weapons /f/a’s are effective, useful when training regiment is extremely regular. Muscle memory, alignments, controls all in place, second nature and stress training, mindset preparations make majority platforms worthy of being your immediate best friend when milliseconds are the reality. Train with what you have, weapons care and carry, storage, accessibility are your life decision if at critical decision event mandating a surviving outcome for yourself or loved one or innocent intended victim. It's a Shame you don't have a simple 5-shot .38spl revolver. It's reliable, simple, bomb proof & it just simply works. Great video but put a snub nose revolver on the table next time
singletrackftw I know more people that carry a j frame than any other design. In their rotation that is.

Hellosh Klosh has always been fffrr drffy
I was thinking the exact same thing
You can't put a revolver in a holster
I conceal a tommy gun with 2 spare 50 round drum mags
Pocket carry.
Marko S. Daily Carry 😂
I have a b1 bomber up my ass
I carry an MG42 with a 200 round belt of 7.92 Mauser in the gun and another two 200 round belts in my pockets, for a total of 600 rounds.
With your stated fundamental guidelines for a first carry, the Sig P238 should definitely be on your list.
Comfortable & light, reliable, easy to learn functions, excellant sights, accurate, both fun & easy to shoot.
and your concealed holsters list are on point
I love my 9mm shield 2.0!!! Except damn the spring is strong AF, could barely rack it when I first got it...Seriously, even the takedown lever is near impossible to operate with one thumb.
I have an older shield but I love it also. If you would like to enjoy/love yours even more and make shooting it easier/better. Invest in an Apex Action Enhancement Trigger & Duty/Carry Kit for M&P Shield, man it's worth the $!! If your familiar with guns and gun parts and assembly/disassembly you can do it all yourself by watching the apex video on CZcams.
I pocket carry my shield 9 plus. I use a leather Relentless Tactical holster that clip to the outside of my pants pocket. The grip sticks out a little bit and is covered easily by a shirt. Love that little gun.
The Springfield xds sub compact 9mm should have also been on the table. A joy to shoot (not at all snappy), extremely accurate, highly concealable, plus beautiful aesthetics. It's my every day carry without even feeling that it's iwb. Definitely a 10.
It's still a Springfield Armory.
I carry one myself...plus don't forget about 19 plus one capacity!!!

So??
I can't deal with those goofy back strap safety things..
Once again Hegshot, excellent video. I am a firearms instructor. I teach that fit in the hand is the most important first consideration. When one grips a pistol, the thumb nail ought to land, somewhere along the middle finger finger nail. The thumb nail ought not wrap around so far as to pass the middle finger cuticle. As to a first pistol purchase, one can not go wrong with a S&W M&P Shield 380 EZ. 99.9% of all events, involving a pistol, end within 0 to 3 shots. (FBI statistics) I advocate that a person trains in use of the firearm and what ought to be done if the firearm is employed during a situation (display or fired)
My first carry gun was the Taurus g2c and still have it. It has a special place with me. Easy to conceal and carry
my first ccw was a glock G27 same size as the 26 just in .40 I found it was a bit bulky for me (I'm 6'3 and 165lb) I decided to go with the m&p shield performance center and absolutely love it can barely tell it's there.
After years of adding and deleting, I'm down to two perfect rotation carry guns. The Sig P320sc 9mm and the M&P Shield 9mm.
Niece milimetros
It only took me weeks to realize the shield 9mm trigger is garbage. If I keep mine, I might only do so if I change out the trigger. Cant stand it.
Good information. Thank you
+WorldsBestDesigner No problem

LC9S ... I carry it a lot. Very good little gun.
Another great vid, Hegshot. Love all the guns on the table. Right now my main CCW is a PPS M2 (with the 7 round mag) in a Stealthgear Onyx, Kore Trackline X1 belt and a Black Arch horizontal mag carrier for the backup mag. I found after some experimentation that with my body type and dress, the cant on the Onyx actually allows me to easily conceal the M2 with the 7 round mag quite easily and the 7 rd mag it gives me an added measure of confidence with the draw and control. It took me quite a while to get to this combo, and I really appreciate these vids to help me continue to compare and contrast the options out there. Keep up the great work. Thanks.

No springfields?? Ive went through about 10 different carry guns and im stuck on my xds 9mm and xd mod2 45, love both of em!!
+Taran Kelley Just not apart of my collection anymore but they are great options as well
I ran a 3.3 XDs in 45 for about 6 months. I loved the way it felt and carried but was never impressed with how I shot with it compared to some of my other carry guns. You see the same issue with the 9? I've been thinking of trying a 3.3 or 4.0 9mm variant.
+Kyle Noir Ive shot my buddys xds 45 and didnt care for it to much but mainly because it was hard for me to get a good quick accurate double tap, decided to go with the 9 and love it, shoots great and is accurate for a 3" barrel
The janky back strap safety is a deal breaker for me.

the video quality is incredible. 60 fps makes a difference!
60 fps would be super super subsonic (1115 fps being the threshold)... maybe as speedy as a bow arrow. lol. Have a nice day~
lol. i meant frames per second not feet per second. i was referring to the video quality.
You...you are dumb.
well...i thought it was funny, Solomon.
EDC (EASY Day Carry): with the idea that a bulky gun might influence me to neglect everyday, all the time carry; I have been liking the Sneaky Pete holster, with Ruger LCP w/crimson trace. I like that it keeps the gun fairly easy to access (magnetic silent flap), and to my pleasant surprise, it causes no one (including police) to even give it a second look when I'm out in public, because it looks like a nerdy cell phone case.
I like that it's easy to clip on and off of my belt when getting into the car, or when I'm back home.
Hickock's advice on concealed carry: "Get the smallest, lightest gun that you can shoot well". I don't think you need more than 6-7 rounds in a carry gun as a civilian. If you think you need more, carry extra magazines. So the best candidates might be Glock 42, Glock 43, Glock 43X, and Walther PPS m2. The bigger handguns work well for home-defense, car/truck guns, or at your place of business. Holsters are another topic, but key to carry success. Crossbreed makes good ones.
Other than that Cowboys hat, Great video and great suggestions.
+Colin Kelly Thanks bro
Colin Kelly other than the cowboys bashing, great comment.

Glock 26/27 Springfield XDS 9mm or a good ol .38 stub nose. Can’t go wrong with em
38 can fire rat/snake shot and have a fast second shot, simi-suto you will have to rack the slid everytime, if it doesn't stove pipe.
I started with the G19. It’s huge.
Then I got the G43. I carry it more because it’s smaller. I also carry a second mag.
I also have a Kahr CW380. Great tiny pocket gun It’s never had a failure
BUY A REAL GUNBELT.
It's easy to carry a full sized handgun if you buy a good holster and a real gun belt.
shhhh saying things like that will make the "muh 45 1911" guys come! its like saying bloody marry into a mirror man! I agree with you, guys that have to wear a jacket, jeans and a heavy belt everywhere because they carry a full sized handgun and two spare mags and a back up piece DO exist and they do carry every day....however they LOOK like they are armed which defeats the reason for concealed carry, at that point screw it carry a rifle. MOST people however wont bother to carry all that weight around and will make excuses like "eh its just out to the mailbox" or whatever to leave the gun behind.
mayb for a bigger guy or someone who wears baggy clothing, but for smaller men, women, or people who are wearing fitted clothing it is difficult to carry a full sized gun because of weight and printing, not such a problem in states where you can open carry
I'm 5'11" and weigh 140 lbs and with a t shirt and flannel, a full size firearm is completely concealed.
Clayton Coffman you have to wear clothes for carrying. that can make the difference.

2 cents from a person that carries a P320 Carry (full size grip, compact length, 17 rounds): The weight was awkward at first, but I carried it and my spare mag in my other pocket as a counterweight and I hardly notice the gun when I conceal now. Lots of these guns are great, but don't forget to account for your body type. My next carry pistol I'm looking for is a Glock 20 which I can cc because I am tall and am used to the weight. Essentially, before you buy, try and shoot any/all of these guns and more to know what it is actually like to operate and you'll find something that is right for you.
I have always carried a G19. I've tried a few others but the glock is just so incredibly smooth, and the blocky slide actually helps me find my aim quicker. It's perfect for carrying. Plenty of rounds in the magazine and only ever malfunctions if you have horrible ammo or fuck up
"Go through guns in your career?"
I teach math. Ok maybe you're right.
Are you a teacher who carries? If so, that is wonderful! I wish there were more teachers that did that.
Glock 43 would have been a nice gun to consider in this.
In my opinion, too much of a novelty. The G26 is more practical.
I'd enjoy an explanation on that one
G26 really is a better carry gun...in most circumstances.
Even with a crap belt, a g43 is comfortable to carry and stupid easy to conceal.
I do run into times where it is more practical to carry than a double stack. 6-7 rounds is still better than none.
My first carry gun... LC9S Pro I love my little Ruger. Shoots GREAT. Goes bang every time I caress the trigger. Easy to carry concealed.
Great video and very thorough for your selection! I love my sig p229 legion. But carrying is a bit a pain so I agree! So I got a sig p225a1 I highly recommend it! All the joys of a p229 legion basically but the size of a single stack!
Shield 9 ....Glock 43..........or lcp for your pocket...
Can't stand a firearm with no room for the ol'pinky finger...
That's not a mistake, science behind the grip has shown that pinky bears little to no weight on grip and grip pressure. Your pinky actually does more harm than help. It makes you want to cant your wrist. If you sliced your pinky off as Geauga Firearms Academy teaches, it won't affect aim in the least. Thus, pinky not fitting on the gun is really a non factor, since it doesn't hold a positive bearing in grip. Palm, middle, ring, index finger carry the grip pressure.
Tho I believe your statements, not having a good 4-finger grip, for me is amazingly uncomfortable
@@user-cs3hi8zp7p I understand, sometimes it's just the way something feels and that it.
I agree. It's hard to hold the gun when rapid firing for me.
This video was spectacular and just what I needed.
+Toco Lee Awsome thanks for watching
Great video Tnx!
M&P Shield 9mm for the win!!!
can't stand the hinged trigger. I wish I like that gun like everyone else.
The trigger sucks... thats true!
@@reptilesgamers00 Can always replace the trigger. Wasnt a fan of it when I first got mine, but I actually like it now. Feels good now that I've carried it for a while.
Went to the gun store 100 percent ready to buy the M&P Shield 2.0. Was psyched to get it. Then I held it and pulled the trigger. Long story short: I bought a Glock 43 instead and LOVE it!
Close.. but wrong...as such. you lose the house, car, and girlfriend... wake up newbie
357 mag snub
Me too with good ammunition it's the best.
And going permanently deaf
The Mod 2 and the Glock are my two top choices. The Glock 26 with a pearce +2 mag extension, and a G19 spare mag in the pocket is a great CC option.
Great video as usual guys. I finally settled on a Daltech Force bullhide belt with a G43 w/TLR6 and Gearcraft or G- Code appendix IWB. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Hard to go wrong with Glock 19.
other than good luck concealing it in your pocket it's to long and way tall Ruger LC9 sig P365 way better options
My carry gun is a g2c taurus and backup is lc9s ruger !!
giovanni panganiban The Pt111/G2c/G2s is Definitely a SLEEPER ! Very Reliable Gun.
My carry is the g2 but not the biggest fan of the trigger. But for the price I think it's a great buy.
That's why I'm planning to get. Carry g2c and have a little snub nose .38spcl as backup or center console gun.
Fantastic video. Tks

I just had to smile when I saw that table. Like all gun owners, you've a collection and a whole bunch of different holsters that we've all bought, tried, and tried another.
What I carry 3 seasons is a glock 43 on my belt underneath an untucked cover shirt with a 1791 Gunleather holster. I chose that gun because of its weight, effective caliber, and reliability. I have factory nights sights and rubber talon grips. I can't ask for a better gun. I chose that holster because it is dignified and not "tacticool" looking if it ever becomes exposed under my untucked cover shirt. Rugged, looks great, good retention.
In the winter, or in social settings where I have to wear a jacket, I front pocket carry a smith 642 in a simple uncle mikes pocket holster. I've tried pocket carrying semis, and found that I have never been able to get the instant grip and draw speed from a pocket that a revolver possesses. The holster is after trying many, and that one just drops on the ground when I draw, snagging less (and more comfortable to wear) than a leather holster. I chose that gun because it is light, powerful, reliable, and has a shrouded hammer.
I'm good with both my main EDC guns, and I've been carrying over 30 years.
