  • Pre 33 US Gold Coins And Reasons Why You Should Not Buy Them is a Stacking Stormtrooper video discussing the pre 1933 gold recall of all US gold coins and reasons why you should not buy them. There are some advantages to owning pre 33 gold coins, especially ungraded gold coins, but some there are drawbacks as well and reasons why you should own modern day gold bullion.

      @@EpicCoinHunting Great! Sticking to a budget, even if small is key. Slow and steady wins over nothing at all. I know of people who's whole stack has been from picking up cans and other easy scrap metals. Small purchases such as 1-2 junk silver dimes add up. It may take 2 years, but a person can easily end up with 2 rolls of silver dimes in year 1, then take that budgeted $ over the next year to get that 1/20 ozt of gold. You can do it! At current prices a 1/20 is $95. This means saving $8 per month or close to $0.26 per day. You will have your gold to balance out your silver. KEEP US POSTED! We are cheering you on!

    It's good that you specifically say "US" pre-33, because here in Europe we stack a lot of latin monetary union gold coins that are from the 1800s and basically have no premium; they are only 90% gold, but even the sovereign itself is 91% ...here that's sort of the standard to stack gold.

    Great Topic, Stormy. I just purchased my first ever Pre-33 $2.5 Indian Head yesterday morning when all Metal Spot Prices were down. Liberty Coin on eBay still has them at the best prices i can find. • @strat959
      @strat959 Před rokem +1

      Pre-33 coins are actually slightly harder than modern AGEs, at .900 instead of .9167, so you are less likely to damage them. Many Pre-33 VF Liberties will show bag marks, which you sure won't see on modern AGEs. But they were made to be circulated. I actually worry more about handling modern AGEs, but I suppose I shouldn't, since even mint-state specimens have lately been bringing less than spot, when offered for sale at LCSs! I have more modern bullion than pre-33, but I think I may prefer the pre-33. They just ain't makin any more of it!

    I've been weighing the pros & cons of pre-33 vs bullion, some of the reasons you listed being a factor. And I think, yeah, if you're wanting to add to your gold stack, go with the bullion rounds or bars. But if you want gold, as well as historical value or if you are a coin collector pre-33 is the way to go. I like both and would be happy with either, just depends on the person and what their goal is.

    Bro I hope in your newer videos you stopped playing that annoying music. Might have been a good video but I couldn't listen to that mess.

      Andrew Hart I don’t dislike pre ‘33. I got a handful. I love em. Heck, I love all gold, lol.

      @@EmpirePreciousMetals me too and me too :) it's tough for our generation to figure out anything without having the older generation dictating the pace/flavor though. To be expected I suppose - keep giving up to date info!

    I will not buy pre-33 gold .
    To many counterfeits
    To high of premiums
    If I can get it for spot or close to it I may buy it but all the pre-33 I’ve seen they always want to charge to dang much for it .

      Premiums on Pre-33 is ultra low as long as you’re avoiding key dates of course many times you can even get them for BELOW spot.

      SpegTacular I agree with Speg. These can be found under spot and are great in a stack IMHO!

      I’m just talking from my experience in my travels I’ve found them kind of high I will always keep my eye out for any gold around spot and like to ask my lcs about deals and stuff close to spot . I’m also not an aficionado in older gold I’ll be the first to admit it
