Alda 5.56 vs. ACS12: New Maestro Loadout Meta - Rainbow Six: Siege

- With Operation Steel Wave, the Alibi and Maestro's ACS12 in Rainbow Six Siege has been converted from a regular buckshot shotgun to a slug gun, in order to make it more viable. The question is, how could it ever stand up to probably the best defender primary weapon in the game: the ALDA 5.56? Time to find out what the individual strengths and weaknesses of his two primaries are and to see if there is any conceivable situation in which the ACS is worth brining. Let's go!

Probably his pre-nerf hip fire accuracy when using bipod on vaultable surfaces or lying down.

I thought Ubi said they couldn't put in a bipod for the same reasons why Tachanka doesn't have one and it's because Siege's engine literally cannot handle it lmaooo.

@@reuben433 i think it has been buffed some time ago and added angled grip that literally turned into a 50 round R4C with angled or acog
@@promc2890 it got an angled grip in ember rise, and benefited from the almost across the board lmg buffs a while back. It was hot garbage, then they toned down all the lmgs recoil snd balanced their damages better

I honestly think it was better as a buckshot shotgun. I used it on Alibi a lot because due to the insane spread you could open up rotations for yourself within a second, which came in very handy while roaming. Its combat capabilities were of course pretty shitty, but that did always encourage creative and smart thinking when approaching a fight. Hiding or baiting enemies into turning corners would give you a near guaranteed kill, because you basically can't miss from such a distance. Running down enemies with the ACS was also fun, just having it at max spread, slowly chipping away at panicking enemies. Good times..
I would like to hear people's opinions for an ACOG on the ACS, but maybe not give the ACOG to alibi, because she's a 3 speed.
an ACOG wouldn't do much imo, cause the dps is the biggest issue

it doesn't really matter that much cuz the dps is so bad and if you want to use that at long range(which is why you run acog on it) the drop off makes it so hard to get a kill if you don't hit the head and the fire rate is trash too so its hard to hit the head too
It would be fun like the BOSG ACOG but it will still be bad because the ACS has pretty bad Time to kill
Increasing the damage would be better but i think acog would be fine because the gun shoots so slow
The ACS is a meme gun and no matter how much they buff it, it will remain a meme gun

@generic generic Idk man he's really kept it hidden from us. I think he could maybe mention it in a consistent part of the video or something. Maybe an intro or something idk.
Speaking of all of the erroneous "one in the chamber" instances in the game, the PK that finka and fuze use actually pulls a round into a feeding tube before chambering it, meaning that while it is an open bolt gun, it would still have an extra round inside the gun when doing a tactical reload. So even when Ubi does fix that issue they get it wrong lmao.
at 2:46 I think that instead of comparing the capacity of the two weapons as the number of rounds, (since an lmg would almost always win in this case), i think it would be better to compare the time taken to empty the mag from full. That way it would make more sense to compare for a combat situation and it would even out the odds better.
The thing is, you'll never full auto an ACS for the pure reason that inbetween the 200ms between your shots you can easily get peeked and killed with the movement speed in this game. With 400 rpm it would border usability, 450-500 and it could be a good gun. Keeping the recoil the same while upling the ROF would increase the resulting recoil enough to balance the increase in power.
That’s a horrible comparison, if you had Ela’s scorpion going up against Blackbeard’s AR you shouldn’t make the argument that the AR has better bullet capacity because it takes longer to empty the mag.
Why i love playing maestro?
1- Annoy the living shit of the attackers.
2- It feels like that scene of terminator with the minigun.
For me it feels like im rambo.
i feel your rants rogue, stuff like that gets me every time. They take weeks and tons of money to propperly recreate the gun looks and implement it in the game etc. but a 10 minute google of the weapons values like mag counts and indeed the open bolt, is to much......

Hi rogue 9 could you test iron sight recoil reduction? I’ve heard that iron sights reduce recoil on smgs specifically the bearing 9, smg12, and ela’s scorpion

Haven't checked the Ameli or the mg42, but some open bolt LMG can have a intermediary step for rounds to be located out of the chamber and out of the belt but into the feeding system. Open bolt lmg's can have and extra round as such without it specifically being chambered.

With the anti-teamkill mechanic in the game, what happen when you shoot an ally while marked by the anti-TK tag and hit this ally and another behind with a full penetration weapon ?
Do you receive damage equal to the damage of your shot or equal of the total of damage dealt ?

What about running the acs so that you still have destruction while using the keratos as a "primary"? How does the revolver compare to the alda?
Keratos is great if you have the aim, and don't loathe iron sights. It can come in clutch because it has such high damage and decent damage even at a range.
I honestly dont know why people prefer the balif over it, outside of using the balif for wall destruction.
But Rogue! If you don't put a silencer on the Alda, how will you provide your roamers with suppressive fire? :c

the .410 pistol is actually bird shot for destroying snakes, if it were buck shot it would have to be basically a slug round because of how bit buck shot is. great videos keep them going.

why is the decoy thingy in the recoil pattern moves? it stay at 10meters so you can actually have an idea how it looks from the menu not going to a custom game and shoot all bullets to have an idea how it looks it would make life so much easier

when playing casual matches or custom matches with my friends i tend to use the ACS on Alibi and mAestro, and it's actually tons of fun. I will never forget the day before the house rework that we demolished the whole house one last time, and the ACS was how we were able to do it... with the help of Sledge of course.
On the Alda, there is a bipod on the gun, then why we cannot mount it? And because it is belt fed, they could give a bigger... "mag", like 100 rounds....
since we may not be getting a smoke rework it would be good to test the gas canisters

I would love to use compensatory on the alda but for some strange reason i am only able to get kills with the muzzle brake. Sounds crazy but I like using the worse muzzle attachment. I guess I just find missing shots satisfying

I’ve been literally running the acs12 a lot just to see if you can viably use it and honestly if it had acog or a increase in fire rate it could be very powerful.
Slap an ACOG on the slug shotgun and I'll think about using it over the Alda, but for now... alda all the way.

Maverick AR50 had the wrong magazine and the bolt wasn't properly seated.
Gridlock's magazine fed SAW is a terrible option due to the fact it is more likely to jam in cylic fire
American Man Well Lions extra gun isn’t an error, they just didn’t want to add an exclusive feature to only him. It’s simpler just to give him one during gameplay and just say the other one is to do with story.

I personally love the suppressor on the Alda, from a long enough range people will peak into your spray cause they can't tell you're shooting.

Remember when the hipfire on the Alda never changed? Put that on the ACS.
This could be justified by the irl AA-12 having special recoil reduction that makes 12ga feel like nothing (according to the people who have shot it, I have no experience personally).
Rogue, I don't think you ever pay much mind to this, but the ACS-12 is actually probably better in practice. Not because it's a better gun, the Alda beats it in every way. The high damage and louder shots actually psychologically impacts how the gun seems to perform. This happened similarly to an older fps game, where two guns with the exact same stats had a wildly different perspective by the community, one was seen as op. It was all because it was louder. I forget the actual name for the psychological effect, but I dub it the Orc Effect. Loud dakka big powah

You dont always load a mag to full. The spring gets really difficult. So a 32 drum holding 30 isnt weird.

I use the ACS to make rotation holes quickly? Use 9 rounds in sets of 3 upwards and boom quick simple rotation hole.
