In this video, I go into detail on the differences between CS:GO and Valorant, as well as the positives and negatives of both games. Remember, all points mentioned in the video are based on my own experience, so despite trying to stay unbiased on every topic, you might still disagree with some things and that's fully understandable. Nevertheless, I hope you will enjoy this comparison video essay.
I should also mention that I peaked Global Elite back in 2017 when I played CS:GO regularly, so currently I am no where near that level since I only just came back to the game. Thought i'd make it clear so you don't assume that the footage used in the video is in my "prime" time.
If you enjoyed this video, considering dropping a like, it helps a lot with the algorithm!

Probably the first somewhat unbiased video I've seen on this topic. One point you forgot to mention was the presence of the community workshop and large number of community made game modes. A large number of players solely play surf, kz, bhopping maps, hide-n-seek, deathrun, 1v1 arena, prop-hunt, zombie escape, etc. Its a huge reason why a lot of players prefer CS over Valorant.
Riot Games intentionally make their game linear. One of Overwatch's biggest reasons for downfall is because they gave their players too much ability for creativity - people just spend their entire time playing custom games that the competitive scene became so terrible. Dividing the playerbase into two is very dangerous. That's why Riot Games limit their gamemodes. But as time goes on, younger players will gravitate towards Valorant so eventually Valorant will have more players
@@LeniusRiven but then they will grow older and get bored of the same old same old, I don't think val will ever top csgo

Your experience with the communities of both games is interesting. I can't play Valorant with voice chat on because everytime I turn it on the teammates are toxic toward everybody, even in unrated and other more casual game modes.
In my experience, toxicity attracts more toxicity
Players that dont talk leave the others free to say whatever they want
Tbh when I play I only say positive words, and it's rare to see someone toxic
I give great calls the entire match, and even if my eyes bleed looking into someone's screen, or if my tm8 is as dumb as a door I always say nice try, or if they smh win I say how good they are and how iv always trust em

I play both Valorant and CS GO regularly and honestly I've rarely seen Valorant players care about how good or bad cs go is whereas in CS i'll find a Valo hater every day
fax
I think a big reason for that is the fact that Valorant is more kid-friendly and, more importantly, came after CS. So people who've stuck with CS for possibly over 20 years don't like the fact that newcomers are getting a different, and noob-friendlier experience. Since CS is somewhat of a tradition now, it feels weird having a competitor that is less of a sport and a lot more "video gamey" in character abilities, etc. It's like if football had a new "competitor" where you don't have as much control over the ball and you can only do specific moves based on the role you select, many football fans wouldn't like that. And it's not to say that that other game is bad, but it's just stupid that they are being compared in which one is better and which one is worse, when there's so much more to both.
I think the biggest issue with Valorant is actually just the fact that it's marketed as a CS alternative, instead of a completely different game.
I rambled quite a bit, so I hope that makes sense lol.
I don't think Valorant is easy by any means, its more vibrant and needs more thinking than CS, CS GO is definitely harder mechanically but you can't say its overall harder than Valo, But regardless of which one is easier or Harder, why the hate? I don't think any of these haters have a life outside their PC.
@@pennynukenarc I play both games and like both of the games like in the video, both has good and bad sides. But Valorant in this case is definitetly the football, just checked that CSGO had last month around 1mil active players around the world, Valorant has had the whole year, also last month around 14mil-15mil active players around world.
honestly yeah, the only time i see someone defending or praising val is when someone say "val is bad" first. even when someone is saying "cs are better", if they said it without insulting val, no one will defend it cuz there's no need to

I swear, ever since Valorant came along CS actually gets attention from Valve ffs
@@mrfamilyfriendly4370 exactly every games need competition its a factual statement without it you have cases of companies ignoring the game like valve did
i agree but i think it's fair to say that riot games really doesnt care about cs or valves decisions/gameplay anymore. they clearly copied the base game fundamentals but val strays further and further from that with every new agent and patch added to the game. to me, riot seems to be much more money hungry with their main focus in generating revenue with each new update. in a sense its becoming like LoL where every update is either adding new content or balancing older mechanics to fit the current meta.
this might be a hot take but CSGO doesnt have to worry about anything other than the occasional gunplay shifts to spice things up. the game is already as balanced and polished as can be. any changes no matter how miniscule have a massive effect on all levels because of how optimized and familair the game is. you can take a year break from cs go and come back to something that feels and plays very similar to what you left off at, but in valor ant if you take a year break you come back with an entire new meta, with new agent abilities and mechanics to learn.

The maps were definitely what kept me from playing Valorant as a long time CS player, but the peeker's advantage and very odd movement/gun feel that I for some reason couldn't grasp was a big factor as well. I used to also be heavily invested in the skin market and betting scene, because it's far more beginner friendly than trying to actually get into stocks while still being appealing to people who like that kind of thing.
I remember doing tradeups and learning how all of that stuff worked back when people didn't understand float values and I could make some money off of it as a kid. Kind of wish we could go back to those days before everything was so heavily tied to money and hyper optimized due to how lucrative it can actually be, because it felt more like a community than nft and crypto kids who've played less than a hundred hours in total spending $10k on sticker capsules during sales.
As a person who plays in Tokyo servers often, toxicity is non-existent 95% of the time. I had some weird encounters, but that comes from usually someone who is not Japanese. I think that servers make a big difference in gameplay experience. that's true, a game like that can't go on for long without regular updates
What rito games always does, keep releasing new content that becomes more and more confusing over time.
And then the next big crazy game comes out
3 years from now there will be agents that have 2 paragraph long descriptions for each ability and added passives. Probably have an agent that doesn't even need to walk and just hops onto another teammate and ops or some shit.
@@Jigen I am sorry dude, I have to remind you, we played CS:GO, let's not talk about updates here. XD
@@mylatestcommentismyname.du7400 At least unlike league you don't even have to know what all the abilities do in order to be good at the game. Unlike league where you need to do a college course worth of research to even know what half of the words under your passive means lmao
This video was insane for lots of reasons, but the best of them is that you instead of charging on one another you simply and peacefully said what you think :)
i think gotv and workshop maps as well as the occasional operation in cs should definitely be another plus, and in future were getting CS2 which will make map creation way easier, so we will see even better workshop content and hopefully also better operations with much more content in them. Danger zone has gotten some nice updates and will work a lot better in CS2 and will allow for bigger maps, really hoping Valve doesnt go silent once they drop CS2.
Cs2 has a good premiere mode now, pretty much killing 3rd party services like faceit. It also fixed the hitreg (as far as I've noticed) while keeping all the other good points. It's just a much deeper game imo, like comparing dota to league. I've played league for ~1200 hours casually over the span of a few years and after trying out dota recently I can't imagine coming back to league, it gives me a similar feeling when comparing cs and valorant, except that I played cs:go before valorant, so I didn't spend that much time on valorant.
oh no no no he doesnt know
I would argue the skin market in valorant being "affordable" is a little off. I got back into CS after a couple years and selling all my skins prior to leaving. Lots of cool skins can be gotten for under $10 whereas all valorant skins are like $15 base and each knife being $40. The knife market and high end scene on CS is way higher, but the budget scene is also tight.
You get a knife skin and a bunch of skins for 10$ from battlepass, also there is night market with gives you up to 50% lower prices on skins each act, which is every 2 months. This is basically uncomparable, because with valorant you can get any skin you want for 15-40$ and in CS some skins locked under ridicules prices up to thousands. And ability to sell skins in CS is not an argument, who do you think would donate a 1000$ for a knife, to play for a month or so, and sell it with an external site to get money back on your card.
true but the most desirable skins are still somewhat affordable whereas if i wanted to buy a gugnir i would have to sell my car
any usable budget skin in csgo is over 40$. especially for M4 and AK. thats budget skins.
unless you wanna use 💩 and call it "budget"
@@kumanochi People buy and sell cs skins all the time. Now only using the skin for a month is rare but there is nothing stopping people from doing that or trading the knife after 1 month to get another knife. You really think people don't actually sell their skins or what exactly is your point?
@@dayko. My point is that you cant afford to resell a knife if you dont have it, and to actually have a knife you can trade for other knifes in CS you need atleast 400$, you can have a third of the entire collection of valorant skins for that price, 7+ melee skins and a bunch of gun skins
First unbiased video on this topic? and its a amazing one too? god damn dude the amount of effort you put into that, keep up the great content!
Frr, all the comparison of these two games on CZcams is so biased.
idk I hear it so biased towards CSGO

Jesus loves you alot trust in His death 4 salvation and be saved from eternal hell
I'm not 100% sure but I think sometimes if you get kills in the terrorist side a terrorist will say "leave some for me". And of course there is something similar for the CTs. So csgo does have some sort of kill confirmation and it also feels better to have your "commander" compliment your play rather than have an AI voice saying "double kill"
I feel like one of the reasons I love Valorant so much is that I don't play duelists. I mostly play initiators and sentinels and then harbor sometimes as well. Not only do I rarely have to worry about insta-lockers but I find the joy of getting kills/making plays in general by using smart usage of my util so much more rewarding than just by rushing in. I bring this up because a lot of people seem to have a mindset of "only duelists are fun" which I feel like makes a lot of people lose interest in the game because they rarely experience everything it has to offer. I think the dynamic of allowing everyone to do everything in CSGO is interesting and was fun when I first tried it, but it kind of had a paradox of choice in that I didn't know what play style I would go for in each round and its more clear with the role system. The community is another big reason I tend to like Valorant more as well, I agree with what you said. I tend to just enjoy talking to people more on Val, but then again it has been quite some time since I last played CS. It doesn't sound like much has changed, though. Finally, I just like the "feel" of Valorant more. I don't know how else to describe it, I guess I like to way the movement and gun play feels more in Valorant than in CS.
Have to agree with you, nothing feels better then outsmarting and outfraging everyone in the lobby while playing as sage, BATTLE SAGES, RISE!!!!
Definitely, i used to bully people with Aftershock / flashes and going for the knife even in ranked. Then swapped to Viper but ever since people started playing for the lineup meta i just fill whatever role the team needs and play some agent in the needed role that i never touched in a long time.
yeah basically csgo is harder because everyone is equal. its the OG game for a reason and it will outlive valorant
versatility is NOT paradox. You do what you must in each round of CSGO. It ONLY become a paradox if your game-play is RIGID which you just state there
Breach all the way, I love that guy
This is actually one of the better CSGO vs. Valorant takes I've seen yet; it's not biased at all, just reasonable. and I agree you'll never run into e-daters or people like that unless you strictly queue swiftplays, unrateds or spike rushes, solo queuing comp i've never run into them, but apparently that's just what CS players expect to be greeted with when loading into Valorant.
there's definitely some e-daters in comp but it's nowhere near as bad as swift play and spike rush

I like your video coming from a CS only background. You presented and compared the aspects pretty well. However, when it comes to skins and trading, I think there's a dark spot on the CS community I have not seen in any comparison video before: Scamming!
It is such an issue, there's content creators out there that make regular videos about the most recent scams and so on, it is such a tragedy IMO. (tho I've never lost anything myself)
thats trading in general lmao. If thats the point then you have to point out every IRL business/trading for SCAM issue as if its a tremendous issue that inflict everyone. Compared to toxic community point is fair because its the players, its part of the game and yes its valid.

As someone with over 3k hours in CS and over 1k in Valorant, this is spot on. Anyone who disagrees probably haven’t played enough of the other to reach a conclusion that isn’t based off of preference / nostalgia / bandwagoning.
I do agree with most, except the skins. I can see why the novelty and floats are cool, but for me it's a deal breaker to spend 40 bucks on a decent skin or the ones I like While val has oni for 20 bucks or etc. Both are good though. I kinda have phases where I will go to csgo then to val over and over as casual so I always hate the "hate" between the communities.

On the point of skins, yes, the upper echelon of csgo skins does cost more than valorant skins, but there are a bunch of low value, but good looking skins you can buy for cheap in the community market, not to mention the low value skins sometimes going up in price which makes csgo skins actual viable investments as well.
Great video, glad you addressed everything about both games, very nice to see an objective neutral view on both games

@@Davenzoid there is the battlepass where you can get a set of skins for 10usd which usually yeilds 13 skins so netting around 0.77 usd per skin in addition to sprays banners and titles
furthermore, there is the nightmarket system where in every couple of months you can get discounted skins which are usually 50% off and that essentially makes the upper echelon cheaper with a sprinkle if luck
@@StrelitziaLiveries but both of those do not just require your money but time as well.
Back when i still played it took me almost the whole month of playing almost everyday to unlock the entire bp of the first two episodes/seasons, and even then i barely made it just because i took a couple days off of playing! Starting from the third or so battle pass i never made the entire bp again.
And even though the black market does have a set of skins on rotation for a discount, both that and the in game store promotes Fear Of Missing Out by encouraging you to buy the whole bundle on release or risk waiting for months on end to finally have the skin you actually want on rotation.
In addition to that, csgo skins, even the higher tier ones have price fluctuations all the time, whereas with Valorant skins you pretty much have to agree with whatever price Riot gives you or you are shit out of luck. And this is not even mentioning trading with other players and the possibility of haggling.
If you like Valorant skins, more power to you, but in my opinion the CSGO system is a way better way to acquire the skins you want, as well as getting them for less than the initial price.
Edit: i forgot the Battle pass also promotes FOMO because to my knowledge there's no way to get previous battle pass skins.
I like both games but this is cap, valorant u can get a top tier knife with effects and all for less than 50 whereas in csgo the only decent knifes are like 300+. But yes in general the weapon skins are cheaper in cs.
Thougt i was the only one enjoying both, glad to encounter this video, keep up the good work!
I think this is a really fair comparison, i prefer valorant but i do play csgo too. Weapons like you mentioned phantom being on defenders side i dont agree because i think again it depends on your role. Ive always mained omen since day 1 of release and i prefer the phantom over the vandal cuz it plays better for my playstyle. But i think everyone having access to the same weapons when you all have different abilities i think is a fair trade. But this is a solid comparison.
Very fair and logic-based comparison for the most part, even when some bias shows you own up to it being your personal preference.
I think all points are valid. as a csgo player I can definitely agree that it is very toxic and can be tough to get into if your a new player! I'm happy that you weren't bias and took both sides into consideration. (:
I just came from valorant to csgo and I gotta say I really love csgo for it’s mechanics. The faster movement speed and the controllable spray makes it so satisfying.
I have to say though that the community is absolutely awful. I basically have my team muted all the time because everybody is just so toxic and/or just talking Russian throughout the whole match. Valorant has a lot of annoying people as well but far far less than I had in my 50 csgo matches. I hope that it might get better at the higher ranks but I’m now in gold nova master and I think I’ve had like 3 matches where it felt like we were playing as a team.

One of the things i really disliked about Valorant is that agents are locked and you either have to pay to get them or grind a stupid amount, whereas in CSGO everything is available to you straight away.
I have the same issue with LOL as well in comparison to Dota. Sure having 100+ heroes from the off in Dota is a little overwhelming but it allowed me to experiment and find the heroes I really liked, whereas in League you can have thousands of hours and not have all the heroes which just seems stupid to me.
Say I see a really cool play watching valorant and I think oh yeah I wanna try that, or a cool combo in league and then I realise, damn it’s locked and I have to grind X amount of hours for it. Immediately i just think, ahh screw this I’ll go play CSGO/Dota instead.

Nice video man. I don't agree with some of your takes, but I really appreciate the nuance. 😊
I think its also worth mentioning how the premium valorant skins change the weapon sound. Most people don't pay attention to it but for me the sound can make the weapon feel heavier or lighter and overal more satisfying to play with
you think val should get a point because they added/modified a sound on a gun? that you can't sell or trade?
@@z0xy266 If we are going to talk about selling or trading isnt CS market place just a speculative market. Like crypto or nfts. The skins "value" is based not on actual supply since the case opening system means that there is technically an infinite supply. all it it takes is someone flooding the market for the entire thing to crash.
@@sword9497that doesn't apply to a lot of the skins. The cases that you can get as drops are always just the few most recent ones, meaning as a case gets older it won't get dropped, and the skins are now limited. But yeah, CSGO skins are just nfts (but done right)
@@mistrkill I would disagree with saying that CSGO skins are nfts done right because CS will die one day, it is inevitable. Whether it be the game just losing support, getting replaced by a more popular game, changes in trends, CS will die and so will skins and their value, so unless you go into buying a CSGO skin just for cosmetics you are making someone else down the line lose their money. It is just a debt that gets moved on to the next person until interest is lost and the losing person has to pay the debt.
@@z0xy266 Skins are literally meant to be cosmetic, this was their design from the start. Valve just wanted predatory features by adding gambling to it; however the market wouldn't survive without that gambling, because if people could just get the skins they want normally, no one would need to trade. Do you think valve should get a point because they got hundreds of kids hooked on gambling?
Skins are skins, and they are meant to be fun, if the fun of the skin, the feel, the design isn't what is most important to you in a skin, you might as well just buy crypto and NFTs instead.
A lot of these points on csgo are why most people who play csgo regularly play on Faceit instead of the normal matchmaking. valve needs to compete with riot, so I’m hoping to see them fill some of the holes in the official matchmaking system that you pointed out with cs2.
Edit: also the hitreg is fine, it’s just at long range a few guns have a point where they start to have bullet inaccuracy, which is part of the strategy. on top of that it’s harder to know when you’re fully standing still in cs compared to valorant, making some people feel robbed because they thought they would be accurate. It’s also probably notable that the bullets in valorant pretty much show where they are going/are supposed to go, while in csgo, you have to understand the mechanics very well just to know that the game isn’t broken, let alone understand what the problem was.
well said, another thing I wanted to add to this is that the netcode of valorant is much more refined than that of cs, however that problem seems to have been fixed in the sub-tick update in cs2, the things added with movement when someone prefires you in csgo in online matches even on decent 25 ping it will look like the enemy just peeked and killed without even spotting you where as in valorant (partially because the movement is a bit slower too) things like xantares peek or ferrari peek aren't as effective... these type of things basically make it look like the enemy is hacking at times and yeah it also makes the skillset of LAN and online players differ, which as they say isn't a bug but a feature... (in my opinion it shouldn't be the case)
Knowing Valve, they won't even need to compete
In fact, they have no reason to so that
@@amspook wym by that? If it’s not as good, they will lose players to valorant. Maybe not a huge amount, but that’s business. Can’t let ‘em go, they have to keep up. They already have started to compete because of it too by adding a few features similar to valorant after it’s release. Before valorant, they were very slow. Now they want to speed up their big release because of it
One thing about Valorant is that the hitboxes are much bigger and agents move much slower. The margin of error is much smaller in Valorant compared to CS:GO.
@@goobles3991 kinda compensated tho there are a select few movement agents but also valorant has much larger maps and much more opportunities to have long range fights... Which if it weren't for those things, would be luck based given vandal's trash accuracy in long range
grate video man i enjoyed it
for agents and roles, I wouldn't exactly say that agents in valorant are required to fulfill that role, because there is always going to be a person who is supposed to heal and stay with the team, but goes off on his own and kill the entire enemy team by himself.
The roles and agents in valorant destroys the balance of the game, if the opposing team have a good breach, you'll be blinded half of the match
There won't always be a healer, healer is not a role in Val there are only 2 agents that can heal others and even so if you pick them I imagine it's not for the heals

4:30 bro there are so many toxic people in valorant, the only difference is the fact that in valorant toxic people are getting banned. So the choice there is very obvious that people want to play with racist people more than toxic duelist instalockers AND e-daters. And i forgot, you gonna say that i'm a csgo player, yes i am i have over 3k hours in cs but i also played valorant for something like 900 hours and the only reason i came back to playing csgo was my experience after getting toxic players and e-daters in freaking 11 matches in a row. I'm not blaming you because everyone can have their opinion but i asked so many people which community is better and 90% of them said the same thing that they enjoy playing with racist people more than toxic's and e-daters + if u dont want to hear ur team yelling racist words u can just mute them
After playing CSGO for years, I feel that you can feel when you rank up if you've played enough. If you won 15 games in LE and didnt rank up, you must have lost a lot of games getting to LE.
It doesn't excuse it and there are definitely things to be improved with it (hopefully with CS2). But you can usually tell when youre gunna rank up.
I believe I had your issue on my first climb to LE though, this time around its been pretty smooth.
He said he was 16 then, dunno how long ago that was, but I remember when there was a time, when silver ceased to exist and the rank distribution was too much in the top ranks. Valve did a rebalance and going down then was brutal. Even I got into Legendary Eagle Master, while my real rank was more like around Master Guardian 2-Elite. (It was around 2016 - People then sometimes deranked even on a winning match :) )

This video is phenomenal. I thought i would disagree with you in some places but you've nailed every aspect of what i've been telling my friends for years.
What I would love to see in valorant is the ability to change your agent every round like in R6.
Matches would probably last way longer cuz of the agent select being at the beginning of every round but would still be interesting to see nonetheless. maybe they should add it like an extra game mode like spike rush.
Recently went to a local valorant tournament, where the whole arena was dead silent, and whenever I tried to make some noise and hype the crowd up, people would give me a stern stare. Most of the arena was empty, and even I, who've played the game for quite some time, was finding it difficult to understand what was going on in the game, took me time to process the each information. Whereas, few years back when I went to a local counter-strike tournament, the arena was bursting with people, there was hardly any space to stand, it was getting hard to breathe in there and the noise was so high that it could easily cause mental impairment or permanent hearing loss if you didn't take hearing protection.

although you make a good point about the skins in CS:GO being differentiable from one another the problem I have with the skins in CS:GO is that you have to gamble with loot boxes to get them which is already a bad start and then the skins are usually just a plain texture that is usually much brighter compared to the extremely dry and pale maps you play in
Yeah the loot boxes are the main reason the skins have that randomness to them in the first place, you have to get lucky getting the skin and then get lucky with its float value, it makes the gambling more exciting.
I don't like loot boxes, but if it's going to have them I would prefer it to be like Overwatch 1, earn loot boxes through gameplay that you can open at no extra cost. But that's not nearly as profitable as paid gambling so it won't happen.
@@wolfandspice I guess it just comes down to opinion if you like how to skin looks or it’s value in the market.
Valorant is a CS GO anime reskin
I felt the opposite about the communities portion. With CS being around longer than Valorant, the player base of CS has a higher age average of players. Older players have been less toxic and mature (aside from the hardcore players i guess) than Valorant. Younger player base in Valorant leads to self explanatory things. When playing CS, I've found less partied up friends who just bully a solo q than I do in Valorant.
hell no
I suspect part of the reason is that partying up is more beneficial to valorant (with classes and all), while CS is less punishing to soloQ
Its objectively more toxic in csgo it's also more sexist considering every time a female team in mentioned people harras them, and that's not something that occurs in valorant to that extent because riot cares more about inclusivity, looking at their agents, older people are considerably toxic as well, when riot posts a lore picture about kj and raze it's the csgo or players that have some sort of right wing bigotry who have the most problem
@potatoes5829 the csgo ranking system heavily benefits people that stack though. It's really hard to climb soloq in lower ranks where matches are much more coinflip since people of all skill reside there. I think it evens out some once you finally get a little higher though, but I'd still say valorant is going to be easier to climb
@@Swagmessiah8394 yeah the "community" part of the video made Valorant seem incredibly boring. I love both games. Awesome video

I agree with most of the thoughts you shared! Another key thing that I wish Valorant has was more map design variations. Most of the maps tend to follow the standard 2x2 which can feel repetitive especially when spectating. Maps feel very 'open' too in the sense that most of the gunfights happen with players seeing the full body model of each other. Objects in CSGO allow for more variety in gunfights whether standing or crouching with only areas above the upper torso are visible. I'm glad to see Riot experimenting on the latter ever since the release of Breeze and more on Pearl (although they nerfed that cover on B long lmao). It may be a design choice to keep the simplicity and casual gameplay though but I'd definitely play more if they expanded on their designs.
This was apparent in the beta and was one of the things people complained about. My guess is due to it being a more casual friendly game, nobody cared once RIot basically ignored the criticism. Pretty sure its the reason smoke spamming is so prominent in the game, where you will legitimately get rounds in live eSports tournaments where literally nobody will see each other and kill the entire enemy team through smokes, the maps have too many linear and predictable zones.
@@griffin1182this straight up doesn't happen what are you talking about

Great video! I agree with most of the stuff you said, other than the fact that "CS:GO skins are too expensive for a casual." While there are some very pricy skins, it is definitely possible to build an inventory for less than $10. Many skins only cost a couple of cents.
I like CS:GO skins than Valorants because first, you can sell them and trade them for money unlike Valorant, second is that CS:GO skins have floats that are different and unique than one another like the 661 float pattern Case Hardened AK47 which is more expensive than a regular Case Hardened AK47 or that Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore with Field Tested quality making it worth $77k. Lowest float on skins also make them more rarer and making them worth thousands of dollars not even mentioning the sticker placements on weapons, StatTrak on Field Tested/Factory New weapons or even quality of gloves with tiny details that made them worth more than other gloves and same goes with every other weapons

I think a big problem with Valorant, that a lot of people fail to recognize, is it's Hero/Agents hitting power creep. They are a timebomb for power creep. Every game that has this type of system, Overwatch, DOTA, Rainbow 6, ect, has experienced power creep as new and better agents are released. Sometimes that make a meta just by their new abilities, sometimes they are legitimate better versions of old characters. This causes people to lose interest because their favorite characters are useless, and they are forced to play other characters in order to fit the meta. Even casual players suffer because no matter how much you don't care about winning, it just isn't fun to be stomped every game by a meta that you have to interest in playing. Solo queue people have it the worst as they are trashed by their teammates for not playing the current meta of characters, even in casual. The best thing the developers can do is try to slow down the power creep, but eventually it will happen. Riot, as good as they are trying, has already felt this happen with Cypher. He was a mid pick in the early days of the game, but with better agents coming out, he has fallen out of the meta and as now seen as a useless agent, with some people in the community being extremely vocal about a buff for him.
There are more examples, but sadly this is an inevitability in the type of system that Valorant has. It can be staved off for a while, but eventually power creep with harm this game's stability in the market.
regarding the market skins i'm with cs2 because when you open a case and get an fn knife you get back what you spent on it which is nice
I played both but more val as of now. I am kinda glad that Val exist as it may bring innovation to CS and probably why CS2 is coming. Competition is good and brings innovation.
One thing you forgot to mention in the skins category for csgo is that some of the skins are just a couple dollars (elite build ak is a good example). Although the cheapest knife is still the same cost as valorant, but worse at that price
but in cs its an investment. In Val your money is lost forever
Personally inthink valorant skins are kinda goofy and they have arbitrary prices.
CSGO has its own digital economy makes item skins behave as assets and they can be sold again for real money.
Also if you win at gambling like myself you get get a 1000 dollars plus out of nowhere and afford an entire years worth of food at uni
@@leafboy3967 Imagine thinking that you buy a skin in a video game and then sell it as if it were an NFT. all the games have the same system as Valorant, that comparison makes no sense, besides that the skins in csgo, if they weren't just for sale, would be totally ugly and boring, it's the reality. I mean, how the hell do you try to compare a skin with animations, sounds and better details than the same skin with just a different color? bru.... you buy a skin for how cool it looks and enjoy it, like in 99% of other games.

And the aspect of the market makes it even better. Firstly I learned the basics of Economy and Trading through cs. And secondly, whenever I Need 1.000 bucks irl I just go ahead and sell one or two items from my Inventory.
@albertoaltahona88 val's skin pop out way more but sometimes it's so much its just bad. It's a reason why ion is such a popular skin. It's simple, slick and well made. I do agree that Val has more creativity in his skins. Makes it a flop sometime, or great skin like the arcade knife

in csgo you can rank up even if you lose a game. Its merely based on how you performed on an individual level and rewards giving it

I think the take with the skin is that a lot Valorant players think that CS skins are boring drawings while their skin has 1000 animations. Great vid brother, I'd just like to add that movement is an integral part of gunplay, the movement mechanics in both games shape gunfights in widely different way. Also, while knives good knives, both in terms of animation and looks are more expensive in CS, one could make the case that it is easier to make a decent loadout in CS, even with less than 10$. When it comes to the comunity I agree with what you said but from my own experience it seems that while CS players are prone to toxicity, Valorant players seem to give up more often. I know this point is way more subjective, but I always find myself coming back to CS after play Val because of CS's simplicity, the lack of agents and abilities is always a breath of fresh air. Moreover, while I do believe the map selection in CS makes the game less frustrating, but beyond that I think CS maps are better overall, I'm not exactly sure how to explain it but aspects such as angles, chokes, and such feel more intricate yet a lot more comfortable to navigate through and fight with.
Anyways, good points, unbiased takes, great vid, keep it up x).
PS: I think it's good to keep in mind that CS was built to last while Valorant might not be recognizable in a few years and making updates on comparisons might no be such a bad thing especially with CS2's close release. (unless we get Valve Time'd again)
I agree on your points but calling that in a few years Valorant might be dead, ofc we don't know the future but what the numbers say I would argue its other way around. For example just checked that CSGO had last month around 1mil active players around the world, Valorant has had the whole year, also last month around 14mil-15mil active players around world, CSGO has never had over 10mil active players it's been cycling around the 1-5mil, CS2 has to do so well to keep it up and alive, some people already are arguing that CS is only alive because its market place, which is fair, but active players are crumbling compared to Valorant. Still I love CS and play it to this day, we will see what will happen to Valorant in the future.
@@leevimasalin2301 I never said val would die, simply that it was made by Riot. They have a good track record of often modifying their games as time goes on, and as you said we don't know what's going to happen in the future, I think Val is worth it's weight in salt, same for counter strike. In the future more players might get bored of CS due to it's nigh unchanging nature and would perhaps prefer a bit more changes, while Val players could get frustrated with the sheer ammount of new content being brought and would prefer more stability. But IF you had to point a gun over over my head and tell me to predict which one will outlast the other I'd argue CS would. There have been many games, far more accessible to new players and way more popular. However, for those that have been fallen off, their downfall was due in no small part to poorly added content and perhaps also badly balanced content, in spite of these games getting off to a good start. While you could definitly say Valve could also botch the game in such a fashion, but in terms of track record Valve are either to lazy or too careful to do so. Thus, for me, the question isn't whether or not CS will remain alive for long in its current statebut instead, how will riot handle Valorant's updates in the future to maintain interest in the game? And I do agree the skin economy is an undeniable contributing factor to CS's popularity, as well as in maintaining it, but at this point it is an inherent part of the game.

I think that if you include 3rd party ranked in CSGO it beats valorant overall. The issue with cs is that valve cant make a working anti cheat so anyone who isn't ready to invest time and effort into cs won't have fun in match making and will be forced to play community tab.
Wdym they "can't" make a working anti cheat. Anti cheat is just a software with different variations. Valve decided to make their Anti Cheat the way it is instead of using kernel anti cheat system like majority of the games today. Valorant using Vangaurd which is also a kernel anti cheat that detects the changes in your game files and see if you're cheating or not. Kernel AC can easily access all your PC files while you're running it, and t can be misused. Valve just decided that it was too much to access a user's files and decided to make their AC the way it is now. Saying they "can't" means they're incapable when in reality they have highly skilled engineers who can make the same thing for csgo pretty quickly.

What I like about CSGO's skins is the creativity and level of detail the COMMUNITY ARTISTS go to, not paid devs, but independent artists hoping for recognition through a blank canvas without the ability to change the animations of gun model itself. I also like certain Valorant skins, but the ability to buy and sell is ofc a huge factor
As for the Pro scene, only Paper Rex has made me feel a similar level of excitement as CSGO's pro tournaments!! Valorant has a meta but they defy the meta with w-key gaming through different team comps!
