Toyota MR2 Turbo Gets Top Feed Fuel Injectors Installed!

- Now that the Link G4X is the brains behind the operations, it's time to go with some more serious injectors than the Supra 550's that were in there. I initially wanted to go with Injector Dynamics ID1050X's, however ID has changed their design and their out-of-the-box solution no longer fits the 3S-GTE's without some special adapters. I ended up having to overnight some DW 88lb/hr injectors that are EV14 style and they worked perfectly.

Where are you located....Tampa area by chance!? I have a 95 original turbo MR2
Yes, I'm actually about an hour outside of Tampa. That's awesome, 95's are super hard to come by.
88lb/hr will be enough for a 2l engine with e85. What are the turbo compressor and turbine from?
Yup, going to see what I can push on this setup before upgrading again. It's a custom billet 11 blade compressor 52/54, 3.25" inlet CT-26 with a 360 thrust bearing and inconel turbine.
Hey brother!! I'm just wondering how's the 535i oil catch can doing have you checked it already? If yes there was any blowby? Finally I had time to put my car back together after belt got sucked it in mine too. Lol
I haven't really driven the 535 in a few months. The turbos seals went, so it's a smoke machine at the moment lol. I did check the catch can and after about 5,000mi on it, it was about 1/8th full. Glad to hear your car is back together after the belt!
@@FoulNewsoh shit. I hope it'll run again soon ! You helped me with a lot with that project. I solved the problem so thank you a lot! Keep getting those videos bro!! 😀
@@davidnehez3534 Thanks! Glad the vids have been helpful! I'm just waiting on M18's log style manifold to be released, so I can go Single turbo.
@@FoulNews oh man you gotta make every single detail on that better film that 🎥 ! If you doing a single turbo so do i bro! That video I'm pretty sure going viral! You deserve more subs and views!
@@davidnehez3534 Definitely, I don't think it will be a DIY video since I never done it before, but I plan on filming as much as I possibly can. I think M18 says December for their manifold, so hopefully around then or next Spring. I appreciate it man, thank you!
I'm about to do the same upgrade on my 3sgte Toyota celica 😊 I saw the ats conversion kit with bored rail and supra injectors but I think I'll go with racerx rail and 620cc injectors.. What are your impressions with dw injectors? I was oriented in bosh or Siemens but I saw gt4-play.co.uk sells dw...
Nice, sounds like a good project. So far the DW's have been pretty solid. They are also just re-branded customized Bosh injectors.
@@FoulNews ah ok so they are similar to injector dynamics.. If I install upgraded high impedence injectors at home will the car run fine? I don't know how impedance will affect the functioning and also I think that going from 430 to 620 cc flow the carb will be very rich... Did you have problems?
@@antonioliotta9255 They are somewhat similar, just their internals and assembly process is different. If you install any aftermarket injectors, you'll need to be on a standalone ECU. Your car will not run if you use the factory ECU and go with top feed high impedance injectors. I'm not sure what you mean by carb though.
@@FoulNews sorry for carb I meant air fuel ratio.. I have already a stand alone ecu and I think that with higher flow rate every time an injector opens much more fuel goes in the combustiom chamber so the engine will run much richer.. My doubt is if I make all the install at home, will I be able to start the engine to take the car to my tuner? 😂😂 I read that going from high impedance to low impedance is a problem but not the contrary.. Im going to make some research 😉
@@antonioliotta9255 gotcha. Yeah it's best to setup the flow rates in your ECU before driving it. Most injectors have flow rate data with them. But to install high impedance injectors, you'll have to cut off the factory ballast resistor and solder all the wires together as I did in this video before starting the car or you can burn out the injector driver in your ECU.
What fuel pump are you using.
Just a little Walbro 255 for now. Going with a 535lph next.
First view... lol
Hari! Thank you for watching! How have you been? Do you ever make it over to Clifton still?
@@FoulNews I was there once in a while well not in past 3 months just waiting for things to settle down, love the videos, please keep making more often, will try to be the first viewer again lol.
@@passionincar sounds good, I will try to start going again regularly as well. Thank you, I appreciate the support!
