Hey,you have great taste in knives.I have the Gambler too.I must be your biggest fan.I have a kydex sheath for mine,Mike Sastre(River City Sheaths).I wear mine IWB crossdraw.I wish I would have picked up other models now.Way overpriced if you find them.I wish Ontario would re-release them.

Hey, thanks for the compliments. I know what you mean. I wish I would have bought the Hells Belle, too... These are some super nice balanced blades; very fast in hand...
      Keep on Collecting,
      Stiletto :)

Beautiful knife. I'd much prefer it to clunkier knife twice the weight.

Yes, that's one of the main things that makes Bagwell Bowies so nice; it's the weight and balance. These are the fastest, in hand, Bowies that I've ever owned. I like his Bowies, very much. If I hit the "Lottery" I'll be getting some of the one's that he, personally, made... :) Thanks for the compliment Bro... Peace, Stiletto :)

Kriss Stiletto I've been watching Bagwell on youtube. And he has literally redefined the Bowie for me. Back to its original intent, which was primarily a weapon, not just an outsized all-round big camp/survival blade in the wilderness. Stay safe.

j greystoke That's absolutely right! A Bowie is supposed to be a "Fighting Knife!" It's not supposed to be a "Camp Knife..." They are supposed to be extremely well balanced and super fast in hand.
The Knives that fall into the "Camp Knife" category are too heavy and badly balanced to fulfill this role; they are just good for processing wood and clearing brush away from a Camp Site. This is not the intention or use for a proper Fighting Bowie.
A Fighting Bowie was back up for a firearm, in the days of old... It's almost like a "Short Sword." This is why I really like the Bagwell's. Check out how he tempers his blades...
      Peace,
      Stiletto :)

Kriss Stiletto Great way of looking at it. I have several big choppers that are not as packable or as agile as your 12oz Bagwell bowie. I'm sure most bowies in that size range are at least 50% overweight. My 8 3/8" Cudeman/Muela bowie is over a pound weight, and just as heavy as my 12 1/2" Ontario heavy Cutlass Machete! Peace.

j greystoke Yes... Though, I'm not familiar with all of the knives that you listed, so I can't speak on those... But, I have a few of the "Camp Bowies," too... Like my "Western W49" and my "Bear Damascus Bowie" and my "American Marbles Trail Maker."
      Stiletto's Western WW49 Bowie
      Stiletto's Bear Damascus Bowie
      Stiletto's Marbles Trail Maker
These are considered "Classics," also... But, I would say that they fit better into the "Big Camp Knife" Category... Why? Because, they are over built, super heavy-duty exposed full-tang Bowies. And, they aren't balanced and fast in hand, like one of Bill's Blades...
That's how I can really feel the difference and understand what Bill's saying in his Videos... A true "Fighting Knife" is not a great "Camp Knife." It's like the difference between a "Super Fast" Corvette and a Chevy C/10 "Work Truck..." :) But, both have their purposes... And, one's not better than the other; they're just built for different purposes... :)
      Peace,
      Stiletto :)
