    Great video, thank you very much, and keep it up! Cute cat, by the way. Jim Bowie was supposedly born in Logan County, Kentucky, not that far from me, I live in Tennessee. You know quite a bit about the Bowie knife, and I thank you for the mention of the Bowie Messer book, I want to get it someday, it looks good.You are lucky to own a Helle's Belle, they are hard to find and expensive, the Ontario versions are discontinued. I LOVE Bill Bagwell's book, it is very informative!

    Excellent video! I've really enjoyed this series so far. Please keep up the good work!
    And since I used to work in the Busse custom shop for 7 years, I was very pleased to see some of our knives in your previous video.

    Very good review I teach classic knife fighting I teach the Scottish Highlands Style of knife fighting my style is derived from Scottish dirk but we also use the back cut like the Bowie knife style because a lot of Highland style dirks also had a sharp clip point like a Bowie knife but your information was very good about the Bowie knife thank you

    How long that you have Gerber Coffin handle bowie? By the time I could afford it ,they discontinued making it

      Hi Thana,I had bought the Gerber Utility Bowie around 2010, and i bought it used (slightly used, but already re-sharpened) from ebay. If you Keep looking on ebay.com, sometimes somebody sells a Gerber Bowie there. The rubber coffin grip indeed is awesome. Cheers, Erik

    A good choil will also act as a blade catch and bind up an opponents blade. A fighting guard though better isn't necessary on every Bowie

      Hi Buddy,yes, I agree: a good straight guard is very helpful in binding (or at least in stopping) an incoming blade ... Thanx forwatching, Erik

    It's pronounced Boo eee not Bow Eee

  • @deliteindanite
    @deliteindanite Před 9 lety +2

    it's pronounced "boo-ee", from the scots, meaning "fair-haired". great video though, despit the outrageous closed captions...."sable dancing"?? and it's james KEATING, not "cutie" tho he is quite fetching~

    Great video, terrible Audio. great information, but the audio is the most important part of any film or video.

    nice video. I like the guard design of the second knife but it's not a bowie. That spear point is ugly and i don't see it's purpose
