I've got a Cold Steel Bowie machete. I'm taking the plastic handle off and putting a wood handle on it along with a brass guard. Should look cool when I'm finished. 😁👍
My favorite in my collection is my "D-17" I built it out of my broken Cold Steel Frontier Bowie. After 3 years of research I have concluded that my Frontier was defective in the heat treatment, and /or bad metal in the tang /riscosso areas. Thanks for your excellent instruction Dbad💯👍👍😎🗡
An excellent history lesson thanks Donnie B. My go to deer knife is a Bowie. Love the movie Crocodile Dundee! ‘That’s not a knife….this is a knife’ 😂. Seriously though Bowie has gotta be the most versitile design in the world. 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
Hey Brother great video on a Piece of History. Something that I read or heard about Bowie Knives was that Men from all over would go to buy or wanted a knife like Jim Bowie. It got to where most Bowie knives were from England made by Sheffield. To be honest a Bowie knife isn’t out of date or style plus can’t be beat for everything that a Bowie knife can do. Doesn’t matter if its a cheap inexpensive Bowie to the most expensive Bowie. Each has a function and purpose. The knife Bowie used at the Sand Bar fight was described by witnesses as being like a large butcher knife.
Howdy Donnie! Loverly video about my favorite blades. BTW, Musso is not a designer, he’s a collector of screen used blades from the movies. One of the very few historical blades in his collection is the Musso Bowie. Supposedly it has been authenticated to James Black’s shop in Washington on the Brazos. The same fella that made at least some of Jim Bowie’s blades.
Excellent instruction 👍 All my largest Bowie knives are used for a lot of firewood processing . I only own useful models that are actually used for hard work. Also my first choice as a self defense knife. Keep up the great work 💯👍😎🗡
Love the history of the bowie and you summed it up good Donnie. My favorites were the Musso and the Dundee bowies, because they are big incredibly awesome bowie shapes. Great video Donnie and do you have any more instructional videos like this in the future planned.
But has a Mexican Twist because in Mexican they had the Clip Point already but we Americans Adopted the Clip point and Called it a Bowi Knife and it just became Big time
Suggestion Donnie, could you provide the names and any ways to acquire your knives via a link?? I didn't catch the name of your last shown bowie that you created. I have several of your blades but don't have that one...might as well promote your creations because they are all good...BETTER than the originals.
BOWIE...MORE AMERICAN THEN AMERICAN PIE...Do you think American historical culture and designs made Knives in general popular and wide spread to the world...especially EDC style knives
I do. The knife has been around since the beginning of time and was one of mankind's first tools. Every new find became a new thing to spread around the world
How much does that first one weight? Beautiful blade looks heavy tho, i EDC a cold steel marauder its 9" blade and i think its 14 ozs very light and sharp
I simply will not rest easy until my very own Big Jim Bowie rests in my hands..
Haha! Worth it!
This is why we bowie! loving it, i can watch & talk bowies/fighters all day. they just make me giddy hehe
my passion
Speak softly but always carry a Bowie 💯👍🙏‼
100%!

Hell yeah! Haha! Love you bro
I'm a Bowie Guy myself good sir and plan to get your version on the bowie in your Dundee inspired one and your preacher. 💯😎
Sweet! Evey knife is inspired by another knife. Ever since the first one

Sheffield was an extremely popular maker and yes, a large chefs knife with a coffin grip
Love them Bowie knives as such an iconic design that is timeless....Good stuff...

My brother designed a great knife. It's beautiful, looks magical. How many inches long is the blade? How many inches wide is the blade?
On which one?
