  • How much of a badass do you have to be to get an eitire genre of Knives named after you? Why, look no further than Jim Bowie at the Alamo. That’s right my friends this CASE Bowie is a fine example of Jim Bowie’s legacy and a fine tribute to the memory of the Alamo. Put it on the wall and Bam! Remember the Alamo. Put it in a presentation case, give it to a friend and Bam, they are remembering the Alamo. Why, I bet your remembering the Alamo right now…BAM.
I hope this will encourage you to put it on your belt around town all while shouting, “Remember the Alamo and the brave Jim Bowie!” BAM.

A awesome knife you obtained and it is just what you said beautiful and should be displayed on a wall , although it's a very functional and capable Bowie Knife,
it's Case pride and American Raider history.

You do realize that the smell of the cow leather that you seem to enjoy is a product of the chemicals used to process it, don't you?
An easy way to confirm this is to go up to a cow and take a whiff.

I was in the army. I enjoy the smell of surplus and you do know what they use as preservatives? I went to the battleship Iowa over the weekend. It has a very particular smell. I also have made my own sheaths, vegi-tan. It’s just one of those things. Just like the smell of stale booze sweating out of your body during PT, the smell of dip and cigarettes take me back to when I was serving.

Ha Ha! I'm just 'bustin your chops'! I like the smell of leather too. I have no idea what they process it with.
Army huh? Airborne? When I lived in Calif. back in the 80s, I had a friend I worked construction with that was retired airborne, 82nd out of Fort Bragg.
He was one tough SOB. He used to chew Red Man 24/7. He carried a spit jar in his truck that was nasty. lol Used to tell us stories about 'Nam.
He was a reformed alcoholic telling us we better quit drinking. He said in his drinking days he'd kept a .45 strapped up under the dining table. Never said what for.
Anyway, he was a hell of a guy. Lost touch when I moved out of Ca. years ago.
As far as smoking and dipping goes, that stuff will probably kill you. I'd quit those if you can.
I appreciate your service. I never did myself; I'd had enough of taking orders from my old man for 18 years. He was a Marine Corps lifer. 30 years. WW2, Korea, and Vietnam.
      Carry on.
