God will not save America

  • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but God is not going to save America. Just like Trump isn't going to save America, and I know good people who still hold out for that, God is not going to save America.
And by America I mean the United States of America.
I'm not saying this because I want this, I don't. I love my country and this saddens me.
I'm saying this to prepare you. Because I know too many Christians, not necessarily Catholics, but some, who have this idea that America was divinely established by God, and Gods going to rescue her. And I'm afraid when that doesn't happen they will lose their faith.

It's ironic. Just last week, I told a friend that 'the freedom of religion' was one of the biggest errors by the founding fathers and one of the problems that have led subtly to the chaos we see today in America concerning true freedom and morals. But then again if the founding fathers were free masons then it makes sense it wasn't an error to them, as free masons tell their members it allows freedom of religion until when they get to the apex and are told it really isn't, that satan is their god. It makes more sense now given how America (following the recent Grammy awards) is now more open about its worship of satan and why they want to make abortion federally legal again after reinforcing so called gay marriage.

The Protestant thesis is destroyed by Catholic light because the epistle of James sounds like it was made to counter protestant notions Luther hated it ,John saw protestants in revalation ,you see the passage" it tasted sweet as honey in my mouth (the scriptures ,word of God )but made my stomach turn sour with bitterness ,he sees the word being used in a way that puts bitterness in the stomachs of those who hear it ,every protestant gathering has at least 20 mins pointing the finger at Catholics ,ohh it's all they can do they need discord to survive as a church because it's a faith without works ,the Greek books missing and the Jewish interpretation , basically they are guilty of killing the spirit of God from the churches they took over ,hence they are cold places ,

The consecration done by Pope Francis has nothing to do with the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Firstly, Our Lady of Fatima did not promise the beginning of the end of abortion following the consecration. She promised that Russia would be converted. The Consecration intended very specific results. While you may see the end of abortions beginning with the Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart, we are not in those times yet, and must first go through the Chastisement. Secondly, while I was in law school we learned that Roe was always considered “bad law” which would inevitably be overturned. To do so required a very specific case to make it up the chain of appeals. It also required a make up of the Court which would grant Cert. to hear that case. The Court also determines if the body of case law and a society as a whole merited revisiting the issue and granting Cert

Its also wrong saying America didn't declare Christ as king because before the 1960s the people in the government were all Christian and had religious dialouge against things like racism, mutilation, eugenics, satanism/cults, and other evils. Also almost every president, mayor and governor says "God bless America" , America the Beautiful which we all learn in school. The song is literally about how God blessed us with good land and faith. Also in our pledge of allegiance it says "one nation under God" and "freedom and justice for all"(freedom and justice for all is a Christian belief as true freedom is being free from sin and justice is what God wants of us, plus back in the early 1900s when the Democrat party institutionalized the kkk with extremist protestants(the kkk hated all Catholics, jews, and most but not all blacks and more) it was the Catholics who not only believed but practiced that Everyone is made in the image of God and is beloved by him. There is a twofold way to look at this, without freedom of religion there is persecution of other faiths which may lead to resentment, revolution and chaos. Probably we need to focus on our individual faith in Christ, and everybody now has the opportunity to choose God, rather than being forced directly or indirectly to be christian, freedom of religion allows man to embark on a journey and find Christ through is own trial and tribulations, being faithful through freedom to chose is more valuable than than being faithful through fear, if you are faithful even in the face of the filth that is allowed in society then your faith worth more in God's eyes, this is why God allows evil in the world and allows the devil to temp you. America is playing in God's hands, American policy forces muslim countries for example to free up Islamic laws to allow christian missionaries to go in and preach the gospel, and remember, Christ second coming will not pass unless the Gospel is preach to all nations, and when Christ was among us, he never forced the Gospel on anyone, nor preached that people of other faith are to be destroyed. This is of the old Mosaic Law. This is not to say that freedom of religion is right as a matter of dogma. Rather it is to say there are practical reasons justifying it in these present times. Even under a Catholic State, freedom of religion must be allowed to an extent, but not fully. I find America and Britain to be the most useful nation in God's hands, it is America that played a major role in bringing down communism, if that accursed system was allowed to prevail we wouldn't have any religion at all, you wouldn't even get the chance to choose Christ today whichever denomination you want to choose. America is lesser of every evil in the world now, so would it be wise for God to punish America? Wouldn't it be wiser to just change America from within. I see no curse on America, God bless America!

Establishing a national religion in America would have guaranteed a fractured country from the start, between Baptists and Anglicans in the South, Puritans in the North, and Quakers in the Middle.

@@michigandersea3485 absolutely, their ideas of a proper Republic (as well as the role of the Christian faith within society) is one of the single reasons why this country was able to spiritually and fiscally prosper in as short a time of existence as it has.
However, that doesn’t exclude that the original social construct of “separation of church and state” was NOT done as a means of ‘punishing’ the churches. It had the noble goal of preserving a purer form of faith that was unadulterated from modern political theory. In essence, it kept the political poison of modern ideology out of the churches much longer than it would have had the churches be tainted with political parties and intrigue.

You can add to the list (Moloch worship, San Francisco lifestyle) African slavery and segregation, the numerous broken treaties with Native Americans, discrimination against Asians (the Chinese Exclusion Act, Japanese internment). Or do these things not matter to God?
Regarding the First Commandment versus the First Amendment, I once traveled to a small town in Georgia on US 41 (I believe it was Ashton) where there was a large sign which told of the town's history. The very first item was how the good Protestant Christian people of Ashton drove the Irish Catholic railroad workers out of town because they wanted no part of Popery (aka idolatry). They were so successful, the sign said, that to this day no Catholic church has ever been established in Ashton. Now, I happen to have been raised Catholic, from a long line of Catholics. What this sign told me is: YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. Doesn't matter how friendly the people are. You are not welcome here, not really. It also got me started thinking on this subject. Yes, scripturally speaking, those people were probably right. The Biblical prophets would be horrified at our First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of religion. Because there is no such thing, Biblically speaking. But, here is the question: WHOSE version of Christianity is the right one? Is it Lutheranism, Calvinism, the Anglican "middle way", Methodism, Puritan Congregationalism, the Anabaptists, the Amish/Mennonites, the various Baptists, Pentecostals, nondenominational Evangelicals? What about Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventism, Christian Science, Quakers--where do they fit in this scheme?
This is just the groups who call themselves "Christian". And while many of these may agree to disagree now, it was not always the case. The Pilgrims came over here because they objected to the worship practices and beliefs of the Church of England. They wanted freedom for themselves, but not for any other "Christian" group. I have an ancestor who was run out of the Massachusetts Bay Colony because he did not agree with the established Puritan church. I wonder what HE would have to say about making this a Christian country. And what about the Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and others--what about indigenous religions? Are they not welcome here as well?
The Founding Fathers established the First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of religion because they had seen how a state-sponsored religion breeds intolerance and wars. Now maybe it isn't "Biblical." But I think we need to think long and hard before we start talking about what a Christian nation ought to look like. Because giving ONE religion power over everyone else is not a good thing.

I would add those things to the list. Unfortunately, as much as I like "I miss Christendom" I do feel he has partially bought into the American narrative, which is expected of conservatives in America, but it in no way diminishes most of what he says on this channel.
As he pointed out, Protestantism was the root of the problem. There is only supposed to be one Christian denomination and that is Catholicism. All those other denominations resulted from the Protestant Reformation. That is why there are no easy fixes, and why we need a miracle (a truly great miracle) to undo all the damage.

@wms72 According to whom? The Jewish people who denied and continue to deny Christ? They weren't promised the guidance of the Holy Spirit or indefectibility. By way of comparison, there were heterodox Christian sects that produced their own gospels based on alleged oral tradition in the 2nd and 3rd centuries (think Gospel of Thomas). The Church, in her wisdom, rightly rejected those for being too recent and thus lacking Apostolicity.
Btw... at least 330 years passed since the destruction of the 2nd Temple in AD70 before the Midrash's composition even began. By comparison, that is about the amount of time separating us in 2024 from the Salem Witch Trials.

A major issue with this thinking is assuming that the European nations, especially those who nationalized Protestant or Catholic Churches, are NOT in the same decay as the United States is, despite nationalizing the faith.
Similarly, in South America, where the Catholic Church is almost completely hegemonic and deeply entwined with the founding of those countries, corrupt governments still exist. The only countries where some argument can be made are predominantly Muslim countries with nationalized religion, but I don’t think you’re arguing that Muslim countries are an example.
There is no country on Earth that can stand up to this extremely purist idealism that a nation needs to enshrine God in their founding documents and ONLY ONE church as the national religion that isn’t also corrupt and sinful.

@@imisschristendom5293 I disagree, kings and Monarchs in Europe tussled with the Catholic Church and many times slept in the same bed, metaphorically speaking. Frederick I was known to hold many religious artifacts in which he charged fees to observe from pilgrims. Additionally, Simony was rampant as a means of bribing one’s way into powerful positions within the church, which allowed non-religious people to gain high status within the church.
Keep in mind, I’m not blaming the Catholic Church for what it did or didn’t do, I’m saying that you have to take off your rose colored glasses if you think that the European Countries and the church were perfect up until the modern era and then suddenly started declining within the last 100 years. The church lost a lot of material influence with the advent of Democracy in Europe, but it allowed the Church to focus on spiritual direction and less on political posturing between Monarchs and the Church that was so prevalent during the Medieval Era.

I think you are misunderstanding what freedom of religion is. It's a restriction on the government against establishing an official religion. People are free to worship who they want and that's how it should be. When Christ told us to make disciples of all nations, He didn't say to do it by force. Our job is to preach the good news and use it to persuade others to join the Church. In essence, freedom of religion and speech preserve free will. Now, does that mean that people might make the wrong choice? Yes, but that's always a possibility when you have free will.
