As a guatemalan myself, it has always annoyed me that to this day, a lot of people still believe Arbenz was a communist, and that's a direct result of lack of proper education in teaching the history of the origins of our country (you can only get access to that information by going to college or going to a private school) and the fact that the Military still hold the power but nowadays is more low profile.

They are one in the same, the US has become an oligarchy. wealthy business owners set policies to benefit themselves and get the politicians in their pocket to push it through. Those politicians make huge stock purchases (pelosi for example) ahead of public announcement to make themselves rich. The media companies and tech companies have become the propaganda and censorship arms of the government. And corporations, non profits, and other non governmental organizations fix elections and promote friendly candidates. The only democracy or republic to speak of that is still in the US is the lie that it still exists pushed by the media to placate the masses with the illusion of choice

We don't need to imagine, we're seeing it first hand and witnessing these same tactics with modern twists. As long as people continue to watch the media controlled by the same CIA, they'll continue to believe whatever propaganda the government wants them to. The result is exactly what you see now. Nothing makes logical sense, one day this or that is bad, the next it is good, and don't you question it or you'll be ridiculed and smeared...de-personed. The people of the 50's can be forgiven. There were only so many means of mass communication then and who would've dreamed their own government would use them against them? Today, people have no excuse for sitting and absorbing the MSM bullshit and believing it. We have history as a guide and relative super computers at our finger tips to obtain information for ourselves and analyze it. Unfortunately, we have people now who will do neither. They stare at their devices and are content to be told what to think, how to think, and regurgitate the talking points that were drilled into them if you even mildly question or challenge their views. Frankly, you're watching older footage of the U.S.'s future here, if people don't get their heads out of their asses and quit "voting" for these people who hate our country (and yes, them too). The same propaganda machine (way more powerful now) at work in this clip has spent the last 6 years turning people against 1/2 the country...and one individual in particular. If you find yourself having agreed with them that stuff the Clintons, Obama, etc. did (like possessing classified info. and destroying the evidence) was ok, but Trump should be executed (with no signs or evidence of the same crime) you are under their control. Wake the hell up.

The price Arbenz offered for the unused land was based on the self reported worth (appraised by the United Fruit Company) for tax purposes.
So, Arbenz was paying what the company said the land was worth. But as they had undervalued it in order not to pay taxes, they asked for the REAL worth of the land.

    1) Assassination of Patrice Lumumba - his death was probably one of the most significant deaths of the 20th century for Africa. Almost the same situation as Guatemala, and the US help orchestrate his death
    2) The annexation of Hawaii - it also involved greedy business owners that wanted more money and power
    3) The 80s crack epidemic - the US put drugs into the African American community, and with the profits they funded the contras in Nicaragua. Not only that but a journalist that was investigating it, Gary Webb, was mysteriously found dead by suicide.

First time viewer, Jake, but subscribed now. I have some background on Guatemala. A friend's father was one of the few who died fighting as part of Castillo Armas' "Liberation Army" in 1954. He was a cattle smuggler who'd supported the 1944 revolution, but had grown disenchanted at the slow pace of reform. As you so well documented, Arevalo and Arbenz worked diligently at change, but were obstructed at every direction by United Fruit and the US government. Forrsomeone out in the country, it was difficult to understand and know what was happening.
Then my friend's dad got thrown into jail where a certain Castillo Armas was also cooling his heels, whether by accident or design, but by this time definitely at the behest of the CIA. Armas made extravagant promises to fulfill the goals of the 1944 revolution and that was enough to persuade. Her dad joined up with Castillo Armas just was he was being mysteriously sprung from that Honduran jail, along with a substantial part of what became the "Liberation Army." And things just didn't go as planned and my friend lost her dad when she was 4 years old. And it wasn't the last loss in the family due to the mess created by 1954, but those are stories for another day.
BTW, you and viewers might find one of my academic papers of interest. It was based primarily on declassified CIA documents, which were hotlinked in the citations. The titles, etc are all there so they could likely be referenced now via Google, but any links were changed long ago. It dovetails well with the premises of your video and expands on them with considerable detail and references to the manipulation of the press by the CIA. www.researchgate.net/publication/335402719_END_OF_THE_INNOCENCE_The_1954_CIA_Coup_in_Guatemala

The sad truth about this is that the USA still implementing this regime change strategy in 2022.
Just now in Pakistan, the country's Prime Minister was given a letter threatening the country's stability if a specific event with a specific result hadn't taken place. The letter stated that if a specific event that is going to take place in a few days, didn't take place or didn't have the outcome that they wanted, Pakistan will have to face concequences, if it does however, Pakistan will be forgiven.
And thus that event took place and now the country is being run by a corrupt individual that has a 14B dollar case on him, as well as his brother and his brother's son and daughter.
The country is protesting against all this but the speakers in the high Court, the election commission, the law enforcements as well as the 14 other parties (These parties hated each others guts but now are standing shoulder to shoulder with each other) all are working together to assassinate the one party's chairman's reputation and him.
The whole nation is trying its best to protest and get a date for a clean election but whenever people leave their homes to protest, they are met with a barrage of tear gas and rubber bullets.
There is so much more to this but this is basically the summary of what is going on in Pakistan. USA is run by disgusting and revolting people that hide underneath a cloak of lies. They have no right to call Russia or any one what they themselves have been from the beginning, terrorists.

However I will make the case that despite everything, you have to understand that when the United States goes guns a' blazing into other countries and see this part of the world as "their" sphere of influence (example: to Monroe doctrine, DEA agents in Latin American nations) this often leads to the issue of these nations asking to be able to develop into countries free of this influence and the US does not take kindly to this, in fact they call these leaders "radicals", "communists", and "a threat to democracy". These leaders have their flaws yes, however they do seek to improve their respective nations economically and when the US also comes into these countries to stir the pot, then these nations devolve into war and poverty, any wonder why all the migrants at the border are mainly Central American migrants? They're homes are economically ruined and we as the USA want to throw our problems under the rug and forget these migrants are people too, but we'll just blame them for not making their country better.

Ultimately, it is man's ego, man's insecurity, man's weakness driving him to project "strength," to subjugate, all in the hope of having "enough," having security. The answer lies within. I can not change you. The best I can do is try to change myself. See where I am looking to gain at your expense, see where I'm looking to get ahead and beat you down. You could call the USA the false prophet (AKA Beast from the earth) from the Book of Revelation in the Bible. It fits all of the criteria (keep in mind that a beast in Bible Prophecy is always a Nation). There is a good Book that points this out called "An Angel Directs the Storm: Apocalyptic Religion and The American Empire"
"In his Inaugural Address in January 2001, George W. Bush clearly articulated his belief in his own and America’s divine calling to lead the world in an apocalyptic struggle between the forces of good and evil, and to shape the world after the American values of liberty, democracy and the free market... We have a place, all of us, in a long story - a story we continue, but whose end we will not see. It is the story of a new world that became a friend and liberator of the old, a story of a slave holding society that became a servant of freedom, the story of a power that went into the world to protect but not possess, to defend but not to conquer... America in this story is the ‘new world’ redeemer of the old world from whence it sprang, liberating Europe from the pogroms and totalitarianism that threatened it in the twentieth century... Bush explicitly drew on this imaginary in his Inaugural Address, and in his response to the September 11 terrorist attacks when he recalled the religious roots of what had become a secular America, and called Americans back to the ‘sacred origins’, and hence the ‘sacred calling’, of their country. In a speech to religious broadcasters in Nashville, Bush claimed that the United States had a God-given mission to bring the divine gift of freedom ‘to every human being in the world’. 10 But there is a twist to this God-given calling which sets it at odds with the vision of the first pilgrims as they fled imperial Europe, For Bush, America is not only divinely chosen to be a place of safety for the persecuted from other lands, but also to be the instrument that God will use to bring liberty and democracy to the nations of the world. Instead of a refuge from the storm, America becomes the storm,"
Revelation 13:11-18 - The Beast out of the Earth
11 "Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[e] That number is 666."
The Beast from the Sea in Revelation 13 has been identified as The Roman Empire. Revelation 17 confirms this. We are looking for a nation that acts like a "Lamb" or seems innocent but is actually a wolf in sheep's clothing. The only two contenders we have for this are America and Vatican City as it is its own nation now. Also keep in mind that "horns" in Bible prophecy represent kings and/or Kingdoms. The USA has two "horns" - president and Vice President, America has called down fire from heaven In WW2 when we nuked Japan, She has made multiple prophecies that have come true and now She is/ has set up an image to herself and and the Roman Empire or its way of rule

No they don't, they think they do until they get here. Then they pretend to be angry at America because they are allowed to be, AS it is their freedom to do so. Everyone thinks America is this great big baddie when it's not the country or even the citizens but the Oligarchy that makes us look bad.
I have been to 43 different countries and all 7 continents in my line of work (Yes, I even did a stint in Antarctica for a summer). At the end of the day while there are places I could see myself moving to to retire because of Scenery, America is still the best place to live when it comes to personal freedoms. That is what matters most to me. Not security, in every way the word means. Personal Freedom. I can be as rich or as poor and America is where I would want to be. Up in the majestic Rockies at a secluded Alpine lake surrounded by guns and nature, as it is meant for us to be.
I wish people could step back and look at the bigger picture. It's not Americans who are the problem but the Social Elites. They drive the narrative, whatever that may be for you. We aren't the warring fascists. Look at England, why has everyone forgot what they have done to this world? Their Brutish British takeovers of countries and entire continents under the guise of "colonialism" is far worse than ANYTHING America has done in the last 400 years. Who brought slaves over? Who kicked Natives off their lands first? Who took over Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, China and countless other established civilizations? ENGLAND.

Yeah, the title and content victimizes USA like if USA never hated anything, they put themselves outside the situation and flip it saying "You hate us", USA hates the world is a fact and yeah this youtuber just wants money with videos.

Amazing man! Im from Guatemala and this probably the most exposure our country will get from a documentary. It is sad that we still live in a very corrupt country. Would be very interesting if you do a documentary about "El conflicto Armado Interno de Guatemala". An internal war in Guatemala with many nasty stuff

The United Fruit company has done this for hundreds of years in Central America. They continue till this day with the same antics, except they now use the name Dole Fruit instead for instance.
