For example, the U.S. currently has most of its citizens believing that China is a global imperialist threat. China has exactly 1 foreign military base-in Dibouti. The U.S. has over 800 foreign miltary bases.
Most people think China is entrapping poor countries into debt when it's in fact the IMF and World Bank-global finance bodies dominated and employed by the U.S. to further it's economic goals-that has entrapped so many poor nations into debt so in austerity and the mandatory hobbling of the productive capacity of these nations' citizens so that no competition to U.S. hegemony may ever arise.

I first found out about this when I was a freshman in high school we watched "Bananas!" In my Cinema club and the teacher who sponsored the club told us all the real world gory/unethical/evil happenings that inspired the film. I'm turning 37 this month and I've barely had a banana since and when I do I just flash back to what my teacher said. Moral of the story :
1) any company that reaches a certain level of success has probably done some super foul stuff.

Spanish American territories were not exploited by the Spanish, they began being exploited after the independence wars. The widespread poverty began after that because our governments were more easily manipulated by foreign powers after we became divided. Before that, most of the revenue from production was invested right back into local development, which is why we have beautiful colonial architecture but ugly half built brick houses after the independence. Divide and conquer worked well here, now we produce for other regions and most of our profits go right into US companies.

You need to be more accurate with the visual media you are using in your mini docs. Many, if not most, of the visual media used, photos, video, etc. are not related to the subject matter being discussed at that moment. Showing a photo of a handcuffed Chapo Guzman, head of a Mexican drug cartel, while speaking of Columbian drug cartel, is inaccurate and just plain lazy. Whoever sources the media you are using within your docs needs to do a much better job of sourcing and ensuring that it is indeed relative to the content. Showing different pics or scenes from Hollywood movies of different actors as visual media while speaking about a singular person in your doc, is very frustrating and lazy. The subject matter you cover has vast amounts of content online making it unnecessary to use anything else. Your docs are good but can be so much better! Thank you for the work you do in bringing us this kick ass content, Jake!
You realize copyright is a thing right? They can't just go and use any footage or images they want or im sure they'd be using more accurate footage. The have to use things that are in public domain or that they can secure the copyright to.

Most channels on youtube use something called "royalty free footage and music", like real life lofe, wendover, half as interesting and all these big channels source all their footage from websites that provide copyright free music, images and videos, templates, everything you can imagine. Storyblocks alone has MILLIONS of copyright-free footage to make videos 50 hours long about a single subject if you want to. I don't think you have any idea of how big the library of copyright-free pictures/videos/music of the internet is.

I really liked Jake when he first started and have watched all of his videos because it was interesting. Unfortunately, due to churning out videos not only is the quality going down, but it's feeling repetitive. I know history overlaps, but I am almost positive he already made this video with the exact same facts. Would like to ask you how you make your videos so simple to follow. I would like to know how you edit your videos and how you find research and how long it takes to research, write the script and then edit. For me it can take 2-4 weeks of time to do it right for one video. How do you do it?
It feels kinda weird to see your video upload to be about 1-2 videos per week and your video has AMAZING editing, video style, imaging and sound design to distinguish who is talking to who when you are nerating.
