It was the teen's first day working at the family business...
His father took him up to the roof of the donut shop and said, "I am going to give you your very first lesson in business... "
"Go over there and stand on the edge of the roof."
Reluctantly, the teen walked over and stood at the edge of the roof.
"Now," said his father, "when I say, 'Jump', I want you to jump off the roof."
"But Dad..." the teen protested.
"Look, do you want to succeed in business?" asked the father.
"Yes, Dad," replied the teen.
"And you trust me, don't you?" the father asked.
"Yes, Dad," said the teen.
"Then do as I say and jump," demanded the father.
So, the teen jumped...
He crashed to the ground and just laid there, winded and bruised.
His father raced down the stairs and ran up to him.
"That was your first lesson in business, son... "
