It's interesting watching him progress through the various eras and stages of his career all in one video. You can literally see how he perfected his craft over the years. His delivery, timing, all of it, got hammered into its absolute best possible form. No fat, no filler, just pure funny. It's nowhere NEAR as easy as he made it look. My absolute favorite Rodney Dangerfield joke I can't find anywhere on CZcams. I heard it only once, on a TV special when I was a teenager and I've never forgotten it. I laughed so hard I missed the rest of his set. That was the power of his genius. The joke is: "I get no respect, you know what I mean? Last week I bought a used car. Found my wife's sweater in the back seat!"
“I told my wife I was in the mood for sex, so she left the room to give me privacy.” Rodney was so funny. He could pack so much humor into one sentence.
There'll never be another laugh-master like Rodney Dangerfield. RIP, Rodney, and much respect. Thanks a million for all the side-busting laughs... There goes the neighborhood!
My favorite Rodney joke which I taped off the radio around 1980: "I've always had bad luck with cars....always taking it to a mechanic. And at the shop, I always know where to find it...it's up on a lift. I can't tell you how many times I've watched it going up and down...up and down. I've got the only car in the world that has more miles on it vertically than horizontally".
Man, Dangerfield was one of the best.. no question about it. His one liners were absolutely brilliant and hilarious. There’ll never be another as good as him. No way 😂😅
I recently watched a show about Eddie Murphy and he told of the first time he met Rodney, that he said that he should not use profanity, they ran into each other years later and Rodney said" who knew " about his rise to stardom.Eddie said he was almost crying with laughter after his observation of his career so far and Rodney just kept firing away, one after the other, until Eddie said stop, I can't keep up and I am sore from laughing. Genius doesn't die, it just grows old disgracefully.
I'm so glad I grew up listening to this man. They just don't make them like that anymore that's for sure😟 Rest in Peace Rodney...you were truly one of a kind♥️
The last joke is the killer. It really is perfect. "I got the same pack since 1975" murders, and then he follows it up with the real punchline "she's up to 3 packs a day." God I love Rodney
Try seeing him in the lobby of a UES skyscriper in his robe either walking to the NYHRC across the street, Catch A Rising Star (where Chris Rock even mentioned it), and with his tour bus.
There's no build up. The punch line comes within 5 seconds and there's no time to stop laughing. My Man and The Man of comedy. He nailed it!! We could really use you now!!!!!
"The flies all pitched in to get the hole in the screen door fixed", only Rodney could come up with something like that, RIP RD, you were one of the best to ever do it.
Rodney was a treasure. A real comedian, he didn't have to dazzle you with clever wordplay or stories, it was all the timing and delivery. He primes you to laugh and then delivers it. Brilliant stuff. And don't ever forget, he could sweat with the best of them. You can't teach sweat.
To your second sentence, I'd bet you get more laughter per minute from Rodney than anyone else. Simply because like you said, less story telling, word play, more punch lines. You have to pay good attention because he's so fast with his humor. Love 'em!
I only wish I could have met him & told him he made me laugh from the first time I ever heard him speak, and I'm still laughing at every joke. His delivery was perfect!!!
Rodney was one of the very greatest! Listening to this video, though, I think there's something missing. The ACT! There's something special to be had in the flow of his routine, that doesn't come through in these disconnected jokes.
When I heard that He passed away; I got all choked up! He moved next door to me!! He was truly an orginal, and a Class Act! No one could make me laugh, like He could!!
I HEARD SOMEONE MENTION HE SAW RODNEY LIVE. PEOPLE WERE THROWING JOINTS ON STAGE. RODNEY PICKED UP THE BIGGEST JOINT AND SMOKED IT FOR THE REMAINING 45 MINUTES!!
"Toast shouldn't have bones" and the one about how all the flies in the yard pitched in to fix the hole in the screen door. Just a few of my favorites.
No one, before or since, has even come close to this legends incredible sense of humor!! The ability to use simple and short bits of self depreciation in such an artful manner is still unprecedented!!! Myself and many others enjoyed the countless hours of joy and laughter you provided, and though film and social media, still provide for us!!!!
The greatest thing about Rodney, is he was all comedy genius and didn’t depend on profanity shock factor; he knew the difference. He was the guy at the local bar in NY. Truly one of the greatest of all time.
I saw him at the Wisconsin State Fair in the early 60's - a side show, still selling his act. Love at first sight! When it was over I wondered if I'd ever see him again, best of the best!

Rodney was one of the all time greats and despite his bits about no respect he really had plenty of respect especially from those young comics whom he helped in getting started. He was also one of those who could think on their feet you just couldn't throw him off on stage he was quick with the comeback. One Rodney classic here "My old man he told me to you gotta start at the bottom. He was teaching me how to swim"

ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE GREATEST OF ALL TIME! 👍👍👍🤣😂😁🙂😃😜🤣😂😁
“I told my wife I was in the mood for sex, so she left the room to give me privacy.”
Rodney was so funny. He could pack so much humor into one sentence.
"My wife told me she wanted to have sex in the back seat of the car. She wanted me to drive!"
The talent
" MiCaCoAzodiac! "
Yeah he always Had a comeback line 😄

There'll never be another laugh-master like Rodney Dangerfield. RIP, Rodney, and much respect. Thanks a million for all the side-busting laughs... There goes the neighborhood!
My favorite Rodney joke which I taped off the radio around 1980: "I've always had bad luck with cars....always taking it to a mechanic. And at the shop, I always know where to find it...it's up on a lift. I can't tell you how many times I've watched it going up and down...up and down. I've got the only car in the world that has more miles on it vertically than horizontally".
My favorite: There’s too violence in sports. The other night we went to the fights and a hockey game broke out.
Truly the King of One Liners that never gets respect
Interesting avatar
Man, Dangerfield was one of the best.. no question about it. His one liners were absolutely brilliant and hilarious. There’ll never be another as good as him. No way
😂😅
i HOPE WE SEE ANOTHER IN OUR LIFETIME mITCH HEDBERG WAS A KILLWE
He was also king of the two-punchline joke. And the second was usually funnier than the first...
@@slamhound58 so true like a1-2 punch
very true.
Cool, you got to be very proud
I recently watched a show about Eddie Murphy and he told of the first time he met Rodney, that he said that he should not use profanity, they ran into each other years later and Rodney said" who knew " about his rise to stardom.Eddie said he was almost crying with laughter after his observation of his career so far and Rodney just kept firing away, one after the other, until Eddie said stop, I can't keep up and I am sore from laughing. Genius doesn't die, it just grows old disgracefully.
The best ever. Will not be replaced.
Nobody made Johnny laugh as hard as Rodney. R.I.P. to the legend.
I'm so glad I grew up listening to this man. They just don't make them like that anymore that's for sure😟 Rest in Peace Rodney...you were truly one of a kind♥️
"I tell ya Johnny blind dates aren't good either. Last week I went on a blind date and the girl showed up wearing pigtails, under her arms"
"I don't get no respect, no respect at all you kidding me...last week a peeping Tom booed me"
- The one and only Rodney Dangerfield!!!
The last joke is the killer. It really is perfect. "I got the same pack since 1975" murders, and then he follows it up with the real punchline "she's up to 3 packs a day." God I love Rodney
I think you left something out?
@@johnr5252 No Respect!
but i tell you something, if my wife does have sex, she screams ohhh - especially when i walk in on her.
What a king. He and Mitch Hedberg are my favorite one liners ever. RIP to both.
Rodney and Don Rickles, legends that will never ever be duplicated. Comedy will never be the same.
Rickles was a bore. Rodney was sublime.
Amen
I liked Rickles too, he could cut with words with perfect precision.
czcams.com/video/AsFMopEMW5s/video.html&t
Amen to THAT😂🤣😂‼️. I totally agree!!
So happy I was able to see him in Lake Tahoe.. seeing him in the casino floor in his bathrobe was classic..
Try seeing him in the lobby of a UES skyscriper in his robe either walking to the NYHRC across the street, Catch A Rising Star (where Chris Rock even mentioned it), and with his tour bus.
A time when comedians were actually funny and Rodney was right up there
Back in the day when comedy wasn't filthy. I miss those days. Rest in peace Mr. Dangerfield. You were so funny and everyone loved you.
You can't teach sweat..." now THAT -- my friend-- is FUNNY! Mr. Dangerfield would award HIGH MARKS 2 YOU 4 that 1!!!! Gregg Oreo long beach ca
His look had a lot to do with it also.
Hands Down, One of The ORIGINAL KINGS OF COMEDY. # RIP Rodney.
"Whaddya mean, heaven's full?". 😅
There will never be anyone like him again, ever.
When I heard that He passed away; I got all choked up! He moved next door to me!! He was truly an orginal, and a Class Act! No one could make me laugh, like He could!!
Greatest comedian of all time in my opinion. Lucky enough to see him in person in the 80's...You finally got the RESPECT you DESERVE RODNEY ! R.I.P.
Saw him live at the orphium theater in omaha in 1983. Greatest show.
I saw him early 80s... Did he do "my tie for a kiss"routine?
I HEARD SOMEONE MENTION HE SAW RODNEY LIVE. PEOPLE WERE THROWING JOINTS ON STAGE. RODNEY PICKED UP THE BIGGEST JOINT AND SMOKED IT FOR THE REMAINING 45 MINUTES!!
My wife used to be afraid of the dark ... then she saw me naked, and now she's afraid of the light !!! My favourite from the genius Mr Dangerfield :)
lol 🤣🤣🤣
"Toast shouldn't have bones" and the one about how all the flies in the yard pitched in to fix the hole in the screen door. Just a few of my favorites.
I liked --Why She was more better known as a Two bagger, you put the bag over your head,in case the bag over hers breaks.
God made Rodney special so we could laugh at ourselves!
EVERY comedian ever is funnier than this guy.
@@bradsaelens692 and so are you
"She's so fat, when she wears high-heels, she strikes oil"😂😂😂
The greatest thing about Rodney, is he was all comedy genius and didn’t depend on profanity shock factor; he knew the difference. He was the guy at the local bar in NY. Truly one of the greatest of all time.
I saw him live in the late 70's. He used plenty of profanity. Different than when on TV.
And yet people complain that we’re not allowed to be shocking anymore. You can’t please everyone.

Heard them all and laugh just as hard! His looks and delivery are great!
I saw him at the Wisconsin State Fair in the early 60's - a side show, still selling his act. Love at first sight! When it was over I wondered if I'd ever see him again, best of the best!
GOAT. Biggest influence on comedians around the world. RIP
Practically every joke Rodney ever told could be considered "top 100".
The best 14 minutes and 47 seconds therapy I've ever had!!! Non-stop laughter🤣Really miss you Rodney. Thank God we have all this videos and your records.
A friend of mine did a day project with him and said he was the nicest guy in the world. Super humble, friendly, easy going.
He had a really ruff up bringing alot of people that do laiter in life they are the nicest people you wanna meet or the people who suffer from something that have Great hart's for others to put a smile on their face and make them happy their is an awesome quote from Robbin Williams on this if look it up he was amazing and really missed bye many in this world
"I gave her a hickey, and got fur in my mouth" - that line killed me.
"Toast with bones in it", now that's a terrible cook.
How about " I was so ugly when I was a kid my parents threw a toaster in the bathtub with me".
@@wysetech2000 - yep, that line is a killer both figuratively and literally.
Never a dull moment with Rodney.Perfect delivery every time .Love him.
Absolute comic genius. One of the greatest of our time. There will NEVER be another beauty like RD.
I'll never forget Rodney in "Caddyshack". He lets a big fart and says, "Hey who stepped on a duck?" I never laughed so hard in my life!!
