At heart, the Sweet were a hard rock band, Chinn and Chapman got them recognition with their bubblegum ( but still impressive) chart oriented singles. If you listen to some album tracks and B sides, you could easily confuse them with Led Zeppelin or even early Iron Maiden (Set me Free, have a listen, you'll see what I mean)
They never got the recognition they deserved. And the instrumental break in this track is very 'Tubular Bells'!👍👍👍

More a love song. A song for lovers. Other songs they rocked out more. They had a lot of great songs though. They were much better than I think a lot of people realised. Not just another pop group.

The Sweet were masters at reinventing their sound and image. The started out as a Bubblegum band playing Chin and Chapman songs, then they started branching out into a more Bubblegum/Glam Rock sound. This then metamorphosed into Glam/Metal followed by this more Prog sound.

Great reaction, Harri. The full-length track was played on album-oriented-rock (AOR) radio stations back in the day (and a shorter version was played on pop radio). I'm glad you enjoyed the middle instrumental section and the fade-out at the end. Such great vocals and harmony, superb musicianship and an all-around cool-sounding production! Love this song, more 'Prog Rock'. I love their early 'Glam Rock' stuff like 'Ballroom Blitz' etc, but from what I've heard, they didn't, it wasn't the music they wanted to play but were made to by the record company. After a lot of success, they were given more control and this style started emerging. Unfortunately this line up only lasted about another year until the singer Brian Connelly left. Great reaction as usual Harri.
