The problem was exactly as you described. Helicopter repaired this morning & it's flying perfectly now. i've now ordered 3 more Top Rotor heads, just in case.Thank you very much for taking the time to do the the video, it's invaluable!
Thanks for the great and easy-to-follow repair tutorial! This simple repair fixed my previously dysfunctional copter perfectly.

Thanks for the comment, much appreciated :-)
I have one of these S107 helicopters that had been left in a cupboard 2 years because it as completely uncontrolable after a hard crash. Examining it carefully in the top rotor area, I found it had exactly the fault you describe here in the video - broken lugs on the top plastic drive shaft. Once I realised what the fault was, I realised I could repair the shaft with some tiny screws I had in a glasses repair kit. I used a hot needle in a holder to make small holes at the centre of the sheered off lugs, and then screwed in small, self tapper screws. These took the place of the broken off lugs and fitted the recesses in the rotor/gyro plates pretty well.
Once the repair was done, the helicopter behaved pretty well and was controllable and now has a new lease of life. The only fault is a small out of balance effect which causes the hovering heli to hover in a circle ,not stay exactly still in the air, but to wander slightly. The nose points forward, but the whole body wanders in this little circle. Perfectly flyable though.
I think the newer version of this toy helicopter will be less likely to break the lugs off than the s107, because it has a power cut off when it crashes, so no more thrashing on the floor when an inexperienced users leaves the throttle wide open.
I got one of these for Christmas, before it broke (on New Years Eve!) I saw this vid and was able to repair it. Thank you for this! 👍

Glad to help you ;-)
THANK YOU!
My son broke this part on the S109G after two days (many crashes). The four blades were badly nicked, so I was going to order those, when I took this apart, the two pieces of broken plastic pin broke off. Thanks so much for saving me more frustration in fixing this.

My pleasure :-)
Thanks for the simple and clear instructions, I replaced the blades and still had a problem and was happy to find this video showing the problem!

Glad to help :-)
Thanks! My 107G was wobbling a little after a crash, it was till flyable though. After watching your video I took it apart and found only one of the tabs was broke on this shaft. Thanks for taking the time to post this video!
My pleasure, I enjoy doing them.
Thanks for this! Couldn't see where the problem was until you pointed it out and then it was an easy fix!

Can u help me where u get that extra lock
I can't thank you enough for posting this video. Mine's all working again now thanks to your instructions. The only other thing to say was about when replacing the blades to remember that they have to be fitted in the opposite direction to the base blades of you're replacing them with new ones. Other than that a really helpful guide.
Great video - Thanks!!! I was back in the air in ten minutes after I got the parts kit I bought on ebay and watched your video for help to change the hub.
I had that problem but never noticed the two plastic pins being broken! Many thanks.
Thanks for the help. Your instructions helped me fix the same problem on a Skytech M15 helicopter too.
This was very helpful indeed. Thank you so much! After I watched your video, I stripped mine down and discovered exactly the same problem as shown on your video.
Thanks for your video. It helped me to replace the little part which keep the heli in balance.
I only fixed all parts and the rotors and then I put the complete set on to the main shaft.
My heli flies now as it did when I just bought it.
Thanks a lot.
Johan.
Thank you SO much for posting this! I was going nuts trying to figure out why I was having issues! :P
thanks mate. you helped me fix mine too with these parts - Syma S107 S107G Gyro Helicopter Top Blade Grip Set and
SYMA S107G Main Shaft Syma Spare Parts S107G-13 UK
Thanks for uploading this - after following your instructions I was able to identify the cause of my control problem, spare parts on the way :)
Brilliant, fixed my oscillating out of control flying problem... thanks so much
Thanks SO much! This was perfect and allowed me to fix my son's beloved helicopter.
My pleasure :-)
had the same problem! Thanks very much for making this video - before I saw it I thought I was going to have to take whole heli apart to replace the whole main shaft, but you showed me how to replace the rotor only.
Glad to help.
great vid, very helpful, spare parts arrived today and i'm flying again
Many thanks for sharing. I watched your video step by step and found it really easy to follow.
Thank you for this video, You just helped me understand what is wrong with one of my Syma
Great explanatory video, tried it and my chopper worked perfectly.
Thank you.
Brilliant, fixe my oscillating out of control flying problem... thanks so much
Thank you for the instruction. I used it to fix my Cobra X107 mini helecopter. Parts are essentially the same. Parts from Cobratoys were crazy expensive. Got the parts on Amazon (Syma 107G) and they fit just fine. Cost me $2.99 US with free shipping.
I just finished repairing one of these. I discovered it accidentally rebalancing the balancing bar. Both pins broke off. I took my dremel tool and bored through the main piece partially from both sides at the point where the pins broke off with a diamond point. Then by hand I used a 1/16th drill bit (broken tip hex drive) and slowly twisting back and forth drilled completely through without any problems. Zero room for error. Since the bit was already broken I pushed it all the way far enough to cut off both ends and leave the remaining as the new pin replacement. Well that looked good but was not that simple. I could not put the rotor back on because the copter drive shaft goes through this piece. I had to take my new pin back out and cut it in two. I cut the pin put everything back together and it will never break there again. That's hardened steel.
Next day here I am watching your video. Yesterday I couldn't find anything on the topic. It's great you made this video because that break point is easy to overlook if you have never taken one of these apart. Nice Job.
Thank you, finally confirmed my suspicions that the bar dose connect to the rotor head. The way ours is broken just looks like the bar sits in he square loosely.
Thanks a lot, just ordered the part after checking I had the same problem (the two plastic pieces were broken)
Rahim Ahmed Excellent result then :-)
thanks this repair guide resolves my problem!!! Thanks a lot!
My pleasure Eduardo, Have a good Christmas :-)
Absolutely brilliant, thank you and one happy son!
My pleasure Sir just right for Christmas :-)
Glad to be able to help you :-)
You rock. I know nothing about RC helicopters, but I thought something was amiss with the top blade... I just didn't know what it was. Also, thank you for explaining things via voice, rather than by annotations and playing some kind of crappy music.
Thank you sir... very helpful video and it help me accomplish exactly what I needed to fix.
Great video. Thanks for posting.

I did learn about the upper assembly though. Thanks.
Brilliant video, problem and repair really professionally explained and filmed-Thank you Topvideos1001
Great video, thank you. You should have been a brain surgeon! I have all the spares & will attempt the repair tomorrow.
HAHAHA :-) Nice comment but my knowledge of brains is somewhat nil to say the least.
Hope it works out just follow and pause where necessary and I am sure it will be fine. Let me know how you get on, hope you subscribed.

Glad to help.
@Topvideos1001 hi i followed your tutorial but the heli is making a clicking sound. when i throttle the main blades lifts up and it makes contacts with the plastic right aboyve it which holds the stabalizer.
Topvideos1001, I was wondering if you might be able to help me? I have the S111, it's not generating enough lift to take off and it's also started making a whining noise. Any ideas?
great video thanks
It's very useful! Thank you.
Thank you.

Fixed my copter thanks to your video. Was the exactly the problem I had. Now if I could get some battery’s from Amazon that were worth an $&@?!!! Lol. Stay safe Stay Well!!! Thank you.
@2:50 easy when the lugs that have sheared off are not still inside the mounts :-) I had to resort to a red hot needle to dig them out! Great video by the way!
Thanks for the compliment. Good point about the lugs well sorted.
Hello, I have 4 blades total and the bottom one doesn’t spin. What can I do ?
Hey, my helicopter has broke and your video tells me how to fix it, but i don't have the right part and i was wondering if you could tell me where to get that part? Any ideas?
How much flying time did it take before that part broker
Where do you get replacement parts for the Syma F106?
To be honest it could be a slightly bent shaft, or a balance problem, try swopping the top blades around.
Did you remove the gears?
Man, THANK YOU my airplane hit the wall and that same
piece broke off.
Great video. One problem. My balance bar is secured using an eyebolt. There are no threads and it slides out very easily. How to I get it to stay secure?
My red wire fell off my main rotor motor. Any tips on how to replace the wire or am I screwed.
Can you tell me the part number I need to order for this repair? I have the exact same helicopter and color!
Perfect! Done!
Glad to help. Have a look at my other repair videos :-)
Mine still does the unbalance thing just a tiny bit. But I want it to be perfect like when I bout it. Any help or suggestions?
hello friend. I have no spare, is there a way to repair the damaged
with screws or something? thanks
what should i do if upper wings are not working?
It could be the gears are slipping, have a close look at the gearbox, I have done a gearbox video on gear slip. hope this helps.
I buy new helicopter SS368A but blades are not rotat motor will fine so what can I do
instead of buying a new piece i just took a needle about the same size heated it up and stuck in in the place of the nub. cut it to length. then super glued it in. works like new
I am glad to help you all, Thanks for the comments I will do more vids very soon.
thank you! I've been trying to figure out for hours why mine just crashes!
Same here. Very helpful video. Thanks so much!!
i have same problem, so where i can get that main shaft
This was very helpful but can i know if the main shaft of this helicopter be used in my Skytech M12 rc helicopter.
Aayush Ratna Sthapit every shaft is the same
Could you give some advice on how to fix that?
so i changed the shaft, checked with the blades and everything but now my s107g starts to fly but again goes in TBE....before the changing of tabs it would go teribly in TBE and crash right away....but again the issue has not been fixed...any other ideas why i am still facing it?

The only thing I can think of is the bottom gear may be broken, have a look at the gear box. Have a look on our forum there are some issues there that may help you with this.
