THE BEST REVIEW EVER
My 9053 was doing this aswell there are 2 little black screws just above the 2 big cogs all i did was tightened the screws worked for me good luck
@MobileMediaProducts Glad you found it helpful, it took me a long time to figure these things out...
Thanks for sharing mate!
This video was very helpful it gave me the idea to use crazy glue on the lower blade grip to the hollow shaft because I stripped the screws he was talking about @1:25 into the video.Oh yeah the crazy glue worked like a charm.
i actually have 2, and i am going to desolder the microncontroller to see the hexadecimal rx and tx from the brand, thank you for the tips
Thanks Mate, I Have Revell's Version Called The Big One. Its exactly the same Unit But Made from Revell. I had some battery Questions but you just fixed that....lol! Thanks for that.
@sinaland You're welcome, glad it helped!
Great video, very clear.
I searched the internet and I know that I lost also bush from main shaft ,so now I know what I need to repair 9053 thanks
@mrrobvs You should use 7.4 volt lipo batteries. These helis use JST type connectors, you can find batteries with these connectors already attached, but I have switched to Deans connectors. To fit the housing measure the stock battery and look for an upgrade that is the same size or use velcro to fit the battery below the canopy. Any 7.4v lipo charger will work.
Great, you're welcome!
Awsome thanks for the vid. Got a d.h. 9101
@mrrobvs No, if you use a 7.4v lipo it won't produce too much power. The lights are LEDs.
Menurut pengalaman yg sy alami, ketika gear sdh di cek gak ada masalah dan battery yg keadaan full. Tp gak bs terbang jg, itu bs disebabkan signal dr remot atau transmiter lemah
@ajwgtnz They are standard JST plugs, they can handle the power from a lipo battery and won't burn out.
Thanks for the video. I got a used identical model volitation. I replaced it with a new balance bar and main board and i am having some trouble. I am wondering what might be causing the heli to spin out of control at first flight? (something with gyro not working im guessing? Also, sometimes, the heli runs out of sync with the joystick on the transmission. It shuts off in mid flight or slow startup/shutoff of the blade rotation. Any hints or ideas? greatly appreciate, thanks!
@ajwgtnz Try a half ounce (14 grams) in the nose of the canapy to start. I don't have a 9101 but I think the blades are farther apart than in the 9053, unless your blades hit each other your won't need to reverse the lower blade grip.
thank u i will av a look cheers
One thing I would recommend when unraveling the antenna wire, is to use cable ties to secure it to the tail tube. Less chance of it coming undone from the rear stabilizer fin, and getting tangled in something.
I lost my pin and I took a large paper clip put it through and bent both ends. It works well.
@GamerKing112 I recommend using Dean connectors. I use lipo batteries, 7.4v from 1800 mAh to 2200mAh.
@teratonexplosion I assume your heli is a 3 channel so there is no control of lateral movement. Is it a coaxial? If the shaft to the blades is bent that can cause it to sway. Did it always move to the left? Good luck...
You're welcome!
@ThePerkipro Look for a loose connection. Cant say for sure but probably is a bad receiver, I think you can get them on ebay for about $10 - $15.
Excellent demonstration. My problem is my double horse 9053 will not back up. The rear blade seems to be working correctly. any ideas?
@kdabiznessman Thanks for the comment, that is a great suggestion.
Did it respond quickly before the crash? Perhaps the receiver board was damaged to cause the 1/2 second delay?
@freediverga If LEDs don't come on it is either a connection, the on-off switch or your receiver.
@burgna If you want to use a more standard connector like a Deans connector you will have to solder the wires on.
Thank you very much for your video. My helicopter only flies backwards, even if the forward/backward joystick is all the way up. The most i can get it to do is stand still. I hope the modeling clay will solve my issue. I have one question though: Why is my helicopter always swaying to the side? Mainly to the left. I don't mean like spinning to the left but moving parallel to the X axis? I would appreciate it very much if you could help me. Thank you in advance.
The problem is the screws that hold the blades to the shaft are very small and barely make contact with the holes in the shaft. I used a slightly longer screw and that fixed the problem. You can't use a paperclip, because the upper blades' shaft has to go thru the outer shaft. The other problem you might have is the gear on the lower blades might need the screws tightened. I had to use longer screws on it too. Just not too long. You don't want the screws to touch the inner shaft.
@mikelutz32 No, there are lots of different connectors. I like to use Deans type connectors.
@freediverga Good luck, if you can't solder the wire back on you can simply disconnect the other wire and twist the ends together with some tape for insulation. Plugging in the battery will work ok as an on-off switch.
@khonglap Can't tell, it could be the transmitter or receiver.
I would be happy if you had any idea what's going on with my helicopter; It flies very well, but I just cant turn it (It's 3 channels and coaxial). It can take off very well and the motors seem to have power, but it just can't turn. Also it turns to one direction a bit. Can it be something with the transmitter?
it could be one of many problems, have you checked the connections on the heli control board?
@simmons527 I have no idea. My 9053 is rock stable. I would try more weight on the right side.
Looks like you've modified canopy mounts! if yes, may I ask where you got them. Thanks
@teratonexplosion Try putting some weight on the right skid this may help.
Any suggestion on how to repair what I believe to be stripped screws on the top gear that drives the bottom blade? Thanks!
Purchased a 9101, I used the trim slides to obtain a neutral trim but the helicopter still seems to, in flight, bear backwards and rotate slightly. Do you have any suggestions or videos you know about that I need to look at to fix this? I thought that a slight relocation of the tail fin might assist this. Yes/No? Thanks in advance :)
super thankyou
@Rogga209 My pleasure!
i recently got this helicopeter and it was awesome while it lasted. one day i was flying it in the garage and all of a sudden the motors quit working and the helicopter landed. then i tryed to take of and it burst into flames. i changed all the wires and fixed the chio up a llittle and everthing seems to be workin fine but exept for the mototrs. even the lights and the power but not the motor what do u think i should do? i already replaced all the burnt wires but wnt work. what should i do?
with the new battery was there any modifications you have to do to the connectors that connect the battery to the heli or the charger? Or are the connectors pretty much universal?
could be a weak battery, bad electronics, etc. since it is defective can you return it?
@Kryptosuras Hard to say. My guess is that your battery or the battery charger is bad.
If the main board is new it is probably ok. Since the heli is used, my guess is that one of the 2 main motors is wearing out. the video will give some suggestions to find out which one is the problem, or you could replace both motors. good luck.
when i crashed mine it hit the ground nose first, broke both screw studs that hold the board down and the antenna wire came off the board. i had to desolder the wire that was still in the board and run the wire again. its very close to the upper frame too if that matters?. but after a few replacement parts its flying again. what bugs be is a lag time between the transmitter and the helicpoter, about a 1/2 a second. when i throttle down the it still keeps spinning which is bad when it hits dirt.
ok so.. i just got a Safstar QS8006-2 53 Inch Extra Large 3.5 Channel Remote Control Led Helicopter With Built-in Gyroscope can you recommend a good replacement battery and charger please?
Hi Mate,
One more thing could you explain the battery connectors. Is it the JST-XH connectors I require on a new battery want to keep it the same and not fart around changing over to the deans connector ,but in saying that would the Lipo battery burn out the the JST plug?
If the screw or gear is stripped you'll need to get a new one. You can put lock-tight or super glue on the screw threads (and let it dry for a day) and this will keep it from unscrewing.
can you show how to repair an on-off power switch? I REALLY NEED IT!
@biggs374 It could be many things. Are you sure your battery is charged? Else it could be bad receiver, poor connection etc.
thanks for your comment!
@brickman9876 Take off the canopy and see if the motor towards the back is running. If not, then the motor is probably burned out or you have a loose connection.
@mrrobvs Lipo and Li-ion chargers are the same.
I need to replace the plastic gears that sit between one of the main motors and the large gears that turn the drive shaft. Do you have any videos that show how to take those out and replace them? Thanks in advance!
@dougschif Did it ever fly okay? My guess is that the receiver is bad.
do both main rotors do this or only one? did you used to work? my guess is that your motor is wearing out and needs to be replaced.
I don't know what kind of helicopter you have, but many have screws you can loosen, move the motor over, then re-tighten.
having a problem with my DH 9053 it spinning to the left all the time and won't trim out also will not lift off. have fitted two new motors the A and B and still the same.
Also, what is the smaller coax on the left at 3:43 ? I have one that is similar in size and build, and I am looking for replacement motors that will fit. The Heli I have is a knockoff of some sort (from Haktoys) and The B motor is shot.
Should the bottom blade have any play in it? I can hold the gear and turn the blade mabe an inch before it catches. The screws that hold the plade to the shaft came out of the holes after a crash, and could not be tightened enough to make contact with the holes again, so I used a slightly longer screw. It flys fine, but I wonder about the play in the lower blade. The top blade has no play in it.
@hammydude12345 Thanks for your reply. Yes, 3ch coaxial DH 9101. Yes it always moves to the left.. The balance bar is all straight, no bends. I guess the problem is the cheap quality.
@mrrobvs They are wrong, lipo batteries are best. The higher the mAh the longer the flight, but the battery will weigh more.
Do the tail rotor mod and switch the balance bar to a 9077 that should get u going forward
when i push up on the left control stick the blades spin for about a quarter of a second and then cuts out. I've had it for a week and and had about 7 sessions with it. Your video makes me think it could be a battery issue.
@callofdutyfreak39 The charges for li-ion and li-po are the same. Is your battery weak? If so get another lipo battery and that will probably fix it.
How to open main bled grip
The top rotor head on 9053 and 9101 is glued on the inner shaft and you will need to replace it and a new inner shaft.
That is surprising, I've flown my 9053 hundreds of times and plastic gears are okay. Did something jam the blades? This could cause the gears to be chewed up.
Do you have any videos on how to replace the battery? I got a new battery but the plugs are a different size.
@Rogga209 Please watch "Double horse 9100 RC helicopter review and modifications" for more information. The transmitter has both a slide control and knob control (on right side) that should help with the rotation problem.
Any reason why both blades would spin the same way on a coaxial?
Where can i get a battery and a charger that you mentioned? like the ones you got
i have a similar helicopter the black widow. looks just like yours. mine keeps cutting out of power after like 5 seconds, it gets up in the air a little and comes right down. it powers right back up and cuts right back out. any ideas. i have fresh batteries and have charged it.
I bought the on ebay, but many hobby shops also sell them.
@hammydude12345 I traced all the wires coming from the battery and switch and found a really loose wire from the switch that was from poor soldering job. I'm going to pick up a solding iron tomorrow. I'm going to do some practice runs on some scrap wire. I have some new mods for you Super Cub coming up so I'm going to need to the practice.
@hammydude12345 >>>I have a DH 9101 wanting to know how to improve fwd momentum how much weight do I need to add to the front end of the craft? Also have tried the reverse lower blade shaft, but it looks like it will strike the canopy is there anyway to overcome this? I've tried adding weights on top of the battery but it ended up snapping the lower fan clip.
Yes I bent the balance bar up and attached it to a carbon rod (it is in the decorative bars). Please see my videos on DH 9053 for more info.
I purchase one of these Double Horse last week from a Hamfest. Got it home charge up the battery. Then tried to fly it. The helicopter would not lift up off the ground. Blades spin very fast, I can get it to turn left and right but will not lift off the ground. What could be wrong.
Just had one transistor desolder it self n fall out it’s the small ones you talk about Could you please tell me the larger transistor code?
Now I can not set the rotation to one spot the heli continues to spin ,if I set the trim nearly to stop spinning it will start spinning again [ opposite direction ] ,it wont lock into a trim to stop spinning. what is the fix for this? 9101 double horse heli.
@AceMcSpade Sorry, I don't have a video on how to solder. But it's not hard treat the surfaces with acid flux and I bet you'll be successful.
I have also crashed once with mine and the bottom set of blades barely turn now. I have tried to tighten the screws but they will not tighten anymore. How can I fix this? I thought I heard him say "Put paperclip in the hole and bend the ends around to fix this"? Is this correct? Won't this take it out of balance?
@hammydude12345 Great. Thanks. Would you recommend any particular mah? A hobby shop that sells these things recommending not using lipos because the "board can't handle it." I guess you would disagree?
Do you know any ware we could fix are rc helicopter or if your instead
I am using a 9104 and thinking about the purchase of a 9101. I've been unable to find more specifics as to what I'm looking for in a battery upgrade in these types of helis. Is it possible to find one with the correct connectors already attached? Where? A direct link would be great.A certain size that will fit in the stock housing? What cap. volts or amps? How do I find a charger which pairs properly? Is it user-friendly to charge these lipo batteries (an indicator) or Will stock charger work?
Hi, I've recently bought a double horse 9115 & I've got a problem turning right. Simply put both motors are spinning fine and I can see and hear the change in the motors when I turn left, but when I turn right there is no change both motors spin at the same speed.
The heli is brand new out of the box and I've only had it a week! Can you help?
Cheers G
hi there verry informative looking for that battery and charger
@hammydude12345 Nevermind, I see that it also says "LI-ON" on the item itself. Is there some sort of setting on these things to make sure you're not pumping too much juice? Also, how do the lights work on these things? The "directions" printed on the item, indicating how the lights work- appear to be written in Chinglish.
I have a DH 9053 and i have a strange problem. When i give power the motor wants to start and you see the blades beginning to move, but directly they stop moving. I can do what i want i have always the same problem. I'm beginning to think that i have or motor problems or electronics board is bad.
Do you have any idea ?

there was always a delay when tring to shut down the main blades. i tried setting the trim man times and have the transmitter as low as it will go to turn the blades on, but just keeps spinning after i throttle down. its not good cause it will end up stripping the gears or break somehing on the heli by not shutting down when falling or tring to miss an object in flight. i replaced the board so it shouldnt be that.
@hammydude12345 Okay...last question I promise. The model you pointed me to says the output is 800mah. The battery is 1300mah. Will this produce only a partial charge? Is it inadequate?
hey i have a very similar heli to this one and all it has different is the canopy and different colored tail boom pieces its called the javelin i bought it off of hobbytron
@dougschif My hello just started doing that and now won't power up at all with either of the two batteries i I have. led's don't even come on so I think my reiver is shot.
sorry, i haven't tried shortening the flybar so i don't know, also don't know about the 9077
it sounds like the set screw for the bottom blade has broken
