It pays to read the comments CopyKattz28 got it right. I just turned the 2 screws at the top of the shaft (below the ones the balance bar pivots on) and the whole black plastic assembly lifted right off the shaft. No pliers, no force, no need for a whole new shaft, and no need to press a new shaft down into a gear. Easy-peesey!

Thanks for detailed video. It helped me diagnose and fix the same problem in my s800g.

Like Stephen Nazigian says (below), I found I could loosen the set screws near the top of the main shaft's plastic head, and take the plastic up, off of the shaft. (That way, there's no yanking with pliers, nor messing with gears.) To install the new plastic head, I just had to make sure it was pressed down all the way, and that one of the two set screws aligned with a flat spot near the top of the metal shaft.

It has been a while. I got the gears in place in the body of the helicopter, then pushed the main shaft in from the top. It takes a bit of pressure to get the shaft seated in the gear.

STOP--YOU DON"T NEED TO PULL THE WHOLE SHAFT! You can just unscrew two screws and replace the black plastic top part.

THAT NOT CORRECT ! What you need to do is loosen the 2 screws that oppose each other on the top disengauge the black plastic rotor mount and no need to pull any shafts

that's the weakest part of the heli I have replaced mine a couple of times they should do a upgrade on that part , and when you put it back you get problems with the fixing screws do not tighten and some of the new shafts come with it already glued that's what I do with them do not use super glue I use LOCKTIGHT ALL PURPOSE ADHESIVE EXTRA STRONG (the purple one)l
