  • I've never tried an RC boat before, so I jumped at the chance to check one out. This tiny little thing makes big promises about its performance, so will it deliver? Let's find out.

    Great review of a nice looking boat thats built for 5 year Olds, like my grandson. 👍😎

    Really nice little boat, Wayne! Awesome review! 😃
    Eachine made one a while ago, I don't remember if it was faster, but I remember someone turning it over and it just turned back again by its own. I don't know, but it could be an interesting option as well! 😊
    Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

      I have boat envy of anything that goes faster than walking pace :)

    Great review, thanks, and interesting to see how this little boat works. I am sure if you had a 5 year old wanting to learn RC skills, this would be perfect. Just not a thrill machine for old hands, but as you mention, for the price, you get a functioning toy. Still interesting vid to watch, cheers to Sophie for her input as well!

      Yes - it's ok as a toy boat for a younger child. But doesn't quite delivery what it promised for the bigger kids (i.e me)

    Just saw your boat post. Yes, it’s bit sluggish not a rooster tail throwing skimmer. Just for Fun, I wonder if ESC and other bits would handle a 3S battery in the boats center of gravity location. I believe it may move considerably faster. Made me laugh watching you walk along side the shore keeping up with it.😀

      Perhaps so - it's a bit tricky to tell why it's not working. Is it the battery, is it the hull. Can't really get another battery in there without some serious rewiring because of that proprietary connector on the pack-in battery

    Yours isn't dodgy mate, I reviewed this boat also today and just uploaded my video

      Just watched it - weird isn't it. I didn't think it could be the hull design, but that's certainly a possibility

      @@CurryKitten yes certainly something not right with this boat, mine took on quite a bit of water too, that would of not helped it out with its performance. It most likely likely happened when I tried the boat in reverse for a couple seconds. Good honest review mate and have a great weekend! 👍

    45kph probably scale speed :-) When I had IC boats it might have been a good rescue boat.

      haha - yes perhaps. I want to try one that actually goes fast now :D

    Did it feel like the boat had more power in reverse?

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  Před 8 měsíci

      Hard to say as it just goes under the water :)

    What's lake?

  • @DizzyRC

    It looks to be underpowered obviously. The amount of drag is a big problem for this one. Both stabilizer fins are way too far down in the water. On hobby grade r/c boats those are adjustable. The rudder is way too long. Those 3 things are killing any kind of chance of speed it would have.

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  Před 8 měsíci

      SO you think it's just bad design - and the boat gets bogged down in the water and can't get to the plane? Or would pure power just burst through that?

    • @DizzyRC
      @DizzyRC Před 8 měsíci

      Ideally you want your stabilizer fins Just deep enough in the water to prevent spin out during a turn while the boat is on plane. Same thing for the rudder. It needs to be just deep enough to be effective. Doing this will increase the speed. Adding more power will help.
      This boat is definitely designed for beginners.
