I have had the same intermittent issues with these smaller brushed boats getting bogged down. I'm not sure why. I have had several of them lately do this. It seems like they have issues getting up enough speed to get on top of the water. They get going and then they bog down and it's bizarre. The small brushed Deerc boat I reviewed recently did the same thing. Great review Dave and as always people appreciate the honesty. Oh and putting the table review at the end has worked well for me as well since people often skip them anyway. LOL
Yeah i never had one bog down and have issues in performance quite like this before. It took on plenty of water as well which i didn't get on camera as i had my hatcam turned off as i was leaving the pond and decided to open it up to see if it had water in it, and to my surprise quite a bit came out. Hard pass on this one, i have seen 2 other guys have issues as well in their reviews on this new boat as well.

Got one for my son for Christmas. Unfortunately after about 10 minutes of use, the rudder (steering) has stopped working and the propeller shaft spins without the prop spinning.
Not a bad looking boat but maybe it's the brushed motors that makes it slow down, good job and have a nice weekend Dave.
I think there is a bit more to it, the design and that it takes on quite a bit of water
Looks like it's struggling to plain? Battery or power issue? I've noticed on some of these smaller cheaper boats that using the rudder robs a bit of power from the motor. And it stops planning for a second. 👍
Yeah it struggled alright, also takes on water rather quickly which doesn't help. Cheers for watching mate 👍

is it just having trouble getting onto aquaplaning? could just be the bow wave bogging it down, it is brushed
try running it where you see the water undisturbed by the wind. i can see an area on the other side of the pond that is glassy. Yachties usuallually chase the wind, but you want to avoid it :)
a higher C battery might help, if you were allowed to run one. but i bet a brushless conversion would fix it

I had one. and it did in fact reach 45km/h, maybe even a little more.

You had the speed for a bit longer than me. I got about 1 minute of decent speed, handed over the controller to my daughter and it was slug like from then on. Shame
Yeah it is a shame really, looked promising at first but just went downhill from there on. My one took on a heap of water as well like yours did. Just by reversing for a couple secs. Thanks for watching mate.
Doesn't look to bad but I think it needs some power ( brushless ) .
I'm sure there are others within the same price range but a little better 🤔

Yeah i never had a single brushed motor rc boat perform poorly the way this one has done.
