#bandmaid #bandmaidreaction #reaction - Hudba
In this week, particularly devoted to giving thanks, I'm grateful for Band Maid and those who love them as much as I do. Thanks for your passion Joel ! Keep spreading the good word ! 👍😁🦃
Bandmaid brings a blissful time to the
audience. And they never forget to thank their happy fans. 🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁
I always have to look up the translations for Band-Maid songs. They perform every song with so much authority that it really makes you want to know what Saiki and Miku are singing about. But for 'Moratorium', Miku's first line sums it up: "Make up your mind!" - the jist of the song being that the woman is telling the guy to decide whether or not he wants a relationship with her, but until then she is leaving him alone, i.e.: taking a 'Moratorium' from him.
Joel is really getting his Moratorium on lately 😂
The most original hard rockers in a long time. Show him their super-powers with the 'Manners/Black Hole' Official Live video...? Good guy...liked his Hi Ren reaction too :-)
Just arrived in Tokyo, looking forward to seeing the ladies on their home turf. Yokohama here we come!
I'm planning on watching the live stream, but it would be so amazing to be able to be at that show. The vibe will be incredible.
The Maids, just so glorious, what a fcken band Po 👍🍻🎼
Excellent choice! That half-time breakdown is so dirty. Thanks for the fun and sharing Band-Maid!
However, "Moratorium" is one of their most iconic tracks -- I loved hearing it live in 2018! BandMaidForever!!!!
O Band-Maid, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: the whisper in the intro, riff of the verse, the "swing" of the pre-chorus, the gang-vocals in the chorus, the heaviness of the breakdown and the weirdness in the guitar solo, the drums in the last chorus and outro, the "Don't dilly dally!" lyrics.
This guy is gonna love Ningen Isu!
You hatched a new Maidiac! Totally agree with Darren on that breakdown - it is very 70's Sabbath to my ears...but I'm biased as I love Band-Maid and Sabbath were the first Metal band I saw live, in 76. PO!
I'm a 70s child and grateful :-) So many people thought rock n roll was dead long before now...eastern Maids are making hard rock great like I remembered!!! Effing awesome.
Amazing performance.
Moratorium is a mayhem, and it grows on you.
Once you hear Band-Maid, you'll take a Moratorium from all the other bands! The Maids go deep on more than 130 awesome songs. Have fun exploring!! 🤣🤘Thx, Darrin & Joel!
I think there have only been 2 of Joels guests that haven't been completely sold on B-M or Japanese Rock/Metal. One was a woman (i'm sure she was a misogynist😂) who seemed to hate everything & the other was a guy who condemned Lovebites for playing live with backing tracks & then said B-M didn't sound live enough on a MV.🤣
@@GaryHolloway-810 I think you're right. And sometimes he plays, like, Start Over for a Metal guy... stuff like that. Since he loves Moratorium, he should hear all JBI and WD songs from Studio Coast and Zepp. I bet he'd love DYTM, Clang and Fate-type songs, for example.
@@TomClark-Futoura Well Tom the campaign for those starts here. Performances so good they prove that all the best material isn't reserved for official vids :)
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
New York is so good they named it twice, MISA is so good Dave named her 3 times.😁👌
Moratorium is not "unpopluar". It's simply that there was never an official MV for it, and the concert footage of it that WAS up was taken down about 2 years ago when they switched labels. So casual/new listeners are unlikely to ever find and listen to this song. To established Band-Maid fans, this song is easily top 10.
Great job sir!. Thank you.
First of all, what a very cool guest in Mr Jesus, and what a fantastic reaction. I really enjoyed bopping along with you two, some good insights as well. I think I would very much enjoy an adult beveraage with you gents, or somesuch as it were.
This song is yet another sparkling jewel in a crown so radiant and vast it shames the night sky.
Oh, how I do love this band. Po.
3rd track from the fabulous Just Bring It album. What doesn't come thru CZcams as good as it should is Akane's blitz on the double kick bass at the start and the end of the song. She is such a powerhouse drummer. Also this track (and yes I'm sure others do too) really highlights the importance of Miku learning guitar - freeing up Kanami and Misa.
This was an amazing concet.. All the videos from this show are Killer.. nice choice Joel, another of Band-maids GEM's.. More of the same please..
PS please show him Nemophila...
Everyone deserves to have some more more Moratorium :)
NO, NO, NO! Bigger voice now, Po. MOE, MOE, MORATORIUM! 🤘🤣
@@TomClark-Futoura Damn it Tom, stop being right. I missed a trick with that one :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 I know you just tee these up for me. Thx, buddy! 😉
@@TomClark-Futoura That's me Tom, generous to a fault i am.😌
@@GaryHolloway-810 My ex-wife said I'm about as generous as a tasmanian devil sharing it's roadkill. I don't think she was happy with the settlement. She got everything she deserved. Nothing! 👿
Been to 2 Band Maid concerts in the last 2 years. Played for bout 2 hours each time. Best 2 concerts I've ever been to.
BTW - there's 2 great live songs you haven't reacted to: Take Me Higher & Turn Me On.
They're not on their CZcams channel, but can be found elsewhere...
Bekka, the recorded versions are on their channel if you know where to look. They have a tab with all their releases as playlists. So go to the "Releases" tab and scroll down to the "Just Bring It" playlist, "Take Me Higher!!" is track 7; and in the "World Domination" playlist, track 9 is "Turn Me On." Not a music video and not live, but they're there.
"I want to be there". Nothing more to add 🤘
Just as a heads up, Joel, this show was at Zepp Tokyo which is now closed. Zepp DiverCity and Zepp Haneda are also in Tokyo and were open at the time. The smaller Zepp Shinjuku opened in April 2023 and the maids played there in July.
LOVE this song!
I like the Studio Coast version even better, but it's harder to find. But one of the things l like about this song, as well as 'Cross', is that Kanami sings on the chant. The only other time you get to hear her sing is the backups for the Acoustic version of 'Puzzle' LIVE.
moratorium - good choice. an song with not many reactions and kicks ass
🤘🤘🤘
😁
I wouldn't say Moratorium isn't a big hit for Band-Maid, it's just not on CZcams. They have so many good songs that people won't hear if they stick to just what's on CZcams. Try Freezer if you want another.
Try see if you can get Jimmy Page(Led Zep) on your podcast & ask him what he thought about Akane(Band-Maid Drummer) when he saw them live in concert. Is it true what he told her?.
Thanks for clearing that story up@@kitsunedao3895. Still, it's a great compliment to Akane that he gave to her.
Not a criticism or anything, but I'm curious as to why you have the impression that Moratorium is one of Band-Maid's least popular songs? I've been a hardcore fan of theirs for about 5 years and follow several fan pages, and Moratorium is definitely big fan favorite. Two songs I'd recommend you check out (if you haven't already) are CLANG (off World Domination) and I'll (off Unleash), I think you would really like both of those.
My guess is that he hasn't seen much of it, or many reactions to it, on CZcams. MAIDIACS know you can't dilly dally unless you bilibili.
Maidiacs love it, for sure, but to be fair, the Maids don’t even give it a steady setlist spot. I’m hyped whenever it gets highlighted because it’s a top 3 for me ❤
He got that impression when he saw the low view numbers when he reacted to this recent re-upload of Puzzle. He got it in his head that the song was unpopular. The original upload, which was also an unofficial dvd rip, had a million or two views before it was taken down if memory serves.
"Moratorium" isn't among the tracks on their 10th Anniversary Best albums, so maybe the band or their management don't consider it among their best. I disagree, but I don't get to make their decisions. They have _so many_ excellent tracks, though.
The breakdown feels so creepy but tasty
Band-Maid don't Dilly Dally🤘
Don't you want to check out Rolling Quartz?
Is your guest Anthony Keidis kid?
DO YOU HAVE TIME TO DO "ADO"? SHE HAS A SPECTACULAR COVER OF "UNRAVEL" LIVE. DID HER VOICE GET STRONGER AND MORE MATURE?
You are 100% wrong. This guy, and anyone else, can do what they want with their channel. But you're even more wrong thinking this song or any other isn't as good as any other. It's one of my favorites.
Another convert.....you're doing God's work Joel.......Lol!
Joel, while I don't have a problem with you pushing your personal agenda on this channel. I do have an issue with you not presenting a top song by Band Maid to your guests. Band Maid deserves their very best songs being presented to your guests. That goes for any Band or Group.
So you´re seriously saying, that "Moratorium" is NOT a top song by Band-Maid?
I think you´re quite alone with that opinion.
Gosh that's so big of you though, to allow the channel creator, the content creator, the guest chooser, the guy who puts in the hours, to "push his own agenda" as you say.
We are all in awe of your generosity.
BTW Band Maid's very best songs are pretty much all of them.
The good thing with many of the bands that Joel shows to his guests is that they have (almost) no bad songs. So it‘s only a question of personal taste …
In all Seriousness Moratorium is a top song in the context of crowd movers, it's often one of their early songs to get the crowd moving, it's fun and energizing. Sure it's one of their earlier works, but music isn't entirely just about instrumental proficiency.
I wasn't being generous I was being critical. Joel is batting about .600 with his guests and a bit better with his choice of MV's.
Not a fan of effort when it's wasted.
Apparently you disagree, too bad.@@paddyofurniture4681
