- End of 2 year warranty look on my Boss ATV V Plow system equipped on a 2017 Sportsman 850SP.
Plow purchased and equipped at HCL Equipment out in Belgrade MT. (406) 388-2609 - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Your videos are excellent and made my decision to get this plow even more solid , wasn't really into a Vplow at first but the versatility sells it
Good choice to upgrade front shocks/springs. Bet it made a difference. Nice clean machine. I use SC1 New Bike In A Can to keep my machine clean. Love it.
Excellent review!
Sweet, thanks ! Awesome review.
Thanks! Im buying one soon!!
Something I need to buy!
Sweet setup I have the identical setup and plow commercial with it. I had the same issue with the lift switch.
Good to know! How long has yours been happening?
It happend with about 10 hours on it and I got a new controller under warranty.
Wow that’s crazy with such few hours, thanks for the info.
I have a boss plow on my truck love it , looks like only problem is the control’s . Maybe they need to use same controls that they use on the big plows . It’s a handheld control, and maybe have a holder that could place in or hold in hand like truck control.
They do make a controller option like the trucks for the ATV’s as well. 👍
I’m in Big Timber and am looking at getting one of these plows. Thank you for this. Have you had any other issues?
yup... I just wrote to Boss the other day on FaceBook about needing wings. 4-6" on each side would be ideal. I just put wings on my truck and wow. Its amazing. Id love to get a fabricator to make me some.
Boss needs to get on top of it. Give the people what they want 😂
You could use a Dremel and round that corner off for the switch so it doesn't hurt the finger as much.
haha, thats exactly what I did with mine... just the smallest about made a huge difference.
Great videos! I wish they offered it for the newer Can-Ams. They only show the straight plows as being available. 🙁
You can put a v plow on any machine new or old. It uses the same mounting bracket as the straight plows from boss. Boss doesn’t recommend/list it for some machines but doesn’t mean you can’t do it. 👍
What did it cost
Plow was 3k a few years ago, now I think they are 4K
What size BOSS plow? I'm looking at a 5' BOSS V-plow for my new CFMOTO XC800.... unfortunately, they don't yet have a frame mount for the CFMOTO's.... While I was at the plow dealer today, they said emailed their teams and they have had may requests for CFMOTO's now, so they will be making plow frame brackets for the CFMOTO....
I have a regular moose plow. We don't get a lot of snow but I started doing some driveways. Yes my plow worked fine for the little I did but would u recommend buying a used 1.
For my money the 5ft straight blade with 6 inch wings is better. Pushes more snow and lighter weight. For counterbalance I use 300lb lead off the hitch.
Definitely hd springs in front.
Edit dude extension wings will fit the v blade they bolt right on the side there buddy
where did you place the winch controller? I just purchased one and awaiting the dealer to install. Curious to know where you mounted it and if you would change location. Super excited to use this winter. Got a deal from the dealer and couldnt pass it up. Your video was awesome!
I took the winch controller off and kept it in the front or back storage compartment. Never needed to use the winch but I kept the controller around just in case. It just unplugs on the Polaris. You can put it anywhere it fits. I didn’t have room for it on my handlebars with all the controls and mirrors and such. But anywhere it fits would be a good location 👍
Also congrats! I hope you love it as much as I loved mine.
Shouldnt have said it is out of warranty. The plow hears this and decides it wants to relax and slack off.
What did this plow cost? How quick does it disconnect? Do you ride with this atv at all in the off season.
3k, disconnects really quick, It’s main purpose is plowing but I’ll take it out a few times to keep some fuel run through it.
I'd open it and dielectric grease it. Lubes and helps with connection
Ended up receiving a brand new control box 👍 thank you though!
@@AutoPilotMT perfect! Dielectric grease works wonders on other things as well. Keeps water out
price please and thank you
Great video review. How much was the plow?
They run 3K-4K these days.
Do you mind if I ask how much this is?
Saw this specific atv and plow for sale in Manhattan this week. $12.5k
Yep, I put it up for sale out there. Bought another machine and wife told me I couldn’t buy the other one without selling this one. Don’t have room for it all unfortunately.
What did cost
How much was the snow plow?
Hey I'm thinking of buying one of those this year for my Rubicon. I do mostly side walks right now. How wide is you blade? And how wide in the "v" position?
I’m not sure the exact dimensions boss might have those on the website for specific positions. But I can tell you for a standard sidewalk it is a little wider then they advertise because on the end of the cutting edges they are curved to protect the blade and it ads a little extra to their advertised length. If you can see one in person it will make sense. But overall not a huge deal once the grass freezes or your carful not to chew up the grass on the sides of the sidewalk.
@@AutoPilotMT thanks.. I tried to find those spec on there site with no luck so far. I'll email them. Thanks again.
The specs are on the website just have to scroll over to the v plow specs but I also add just a little bit extra to their measurements with the curb guards.
What type of plowing do you do, sideways, driveways, etc and how much money can you make with it?
Sidewalks, driveways, small roads. You can plow anything with this plow. Whatever someone is willing to pay for the job is what you can make. Could be $20 or over $100. Depends on the account and the snow storm.
I was wondering if a 570 would be able to handle a boss plow or if I would need a 850.
I always recommend the 850 but I see a good chunk of people using 570’s with the boss plow as well.
Thank you. I'm looking to buy my first atv for plowing in Nothern Michigan. Still trying to figure out what to get.
@@brndinrth buy a Honda it will last longer
I’m curious are you just running a Polaris 850 sp with highlighter front springs? Would you do anything else for the boss plow? I’m looking at getting this same set up for the 2021 season.
You can try to use it without upgrading the springs and see what you think. The 850-1000 models are pretty much set to go. The batteries can handle the load of the boss plow and EPS system. If it gets to low it will cut the EPS but you’ll never really notice when your moving. I always kept my battery on a charger/tender when not in use throughout the season.
How does the power steering do with the weight
Not an issue, it may sometimes turn off if the plow is using to much power, all you need to do to fix that is when operating the hydraulics on the plow make sure your moving/ applying throttle to keep the engine rpm up to charge the battery. If your sitting still moving hydraulics it drains the battery quicker.
I just bought 9 of these units how do I soften up the trip Spring
Loosen up the 2 lower bolts on the underside of the push frame that attach to the trip springs. I would caution loosening it to much because it will loosen over time on its own and the end plate can become dislodged and can get lost or damaged.
@@AutoPilotMT Do you use lock type as well as the nylon nut. And the Springs at the factory setting seem real stiff. Did you adjust yours the 1st time you went out?
The plow itself has no idea it’s out of warranty.🤣
How much did the plow with install cost?
At the time 3k. Install was basically free with purchase. Prices have gone up since a few years ago unfortunately. But it is an awesome plow.
Do you think it is to big for a 570
I personally haven’t tried it. But I have seen and talked with other guys and they are able to do it with a 570. Only downsides I know are the battery and front suspension. New 570 models fixed a lot of those issues but with the suspension on any ATV putting a spacer or heavier duty front spring on the front i always recommend, the v plow is not a light plow. I don’t think it’s to big but just take into account you may need a larger battery and may need to be more careful with it being not as well built as a larger CC engine and frame.
Does the frame mount bolt or weld on to the machine?
Bolt
@@AutoPilotMT can you get me a picture of just the mount? Does it transfer weight to the rear of machine or just on the front?
Iv got a video on the mount on my channel. You can also find it on the Boss website for specific machines. Mostly front.
Cool man, thanks. Do you think its worth the money?
Absolutely, it can make its money back extremely quick in the right climate and a good snow season.
just seen price around 3 or 4 tho
That’s about right
Put a empty bread bag over it with a rubber band.
What deal how much
Pat Papaleo 3K
You can't put a bigger plow or wings on an atv. No market I'm guessing ? You want bigger, get a UTV or truck.
Not a big fan of how that mount is hanging down on the machine with the plow off... If you were trail riding 1 good hit from a rock or Crossing a downed tree could bend that right up
They make a bracket for the off season that turns it into a skid plate.
