    This is NOT a Boss issue at all. This is your issue with ramps/truck/loading angle. These plows actually have good clearance for normal operations. I seriously don't understand why a negative review for something that is incredibly clear is not the problem.

  • @MikelWheeler
    @MikelWheeler Před 3 lety +35

    you should remove your video and buy longer ramps or a trailer. Boss is one of the top best plows on the market.

      @georgeosborn3553 Před 3 lety +1

      I agree that longer ramps would fix the dragging problem , it's not a blade problem but a ramp angle problem

    It's the plow's fault that you didn't buy a trailer?

  • @stopdrinkingleftskoolaid6510

    Omg! I see what the problem is here! Don’t buy a Ford FX pick up truck if you plow with an ATV. I have an ATV with a plow and I was going to buy a Ford FX pick up truck to haul it around. Thanks for posting this. I would have wasted 10’s of thousands of dollars. Thanks for posting and keep up the good work.

    Keep the videos coming. We have the same setup. But, I believe those of us using the plow for commercial use may not be transporting the quad in a truck during storms. We put it on locations with multiple sites close by. Or, put in an enclosed trailer and locate just before a storm. You are right. It's a money maker. Thanks for all the ideas.

  • @connorjohnson9230

    Considering you have a multi thousand dollar plow, why not spend $800 on a utility trailer to make your life easier?

  • @KF1
    @KF1 Před 4 lety +13

    Woah man, just lower the back of the truck by removing the 4x4 blocks, and longer ramps. The plow is not the problem

  • @LTVoyager
    @LTVoyager Před 3 lety +3

    That’s not a plow issue, that is operator error. You need longer ramps or, better yet, a trailer. 4x4 pickups are just too tall for easy loading of an ATV unless you have a loading ramp to back up to.

  • @kennethnuezil4385
    @kennethnuezil4385 Před 3 lety +5

    First of all you have a short bed truck. Second of all you should be putting your equipment on a trailer instead of a truck. Ive been plowing commercial and residential for 25+ years and what you are doing would never bee done. By a small landscape trailer that will work with your ATV unit. I haul ATV's in my truck but not with plows on them. Always use a trailer!

  • @andrewnye3782
    @andrewnye3782 Před 4 lety +3

    your only issue is unloading and loading. that's a terrible reason to say, dont a boss plow for your 4wheeler. why dont you buy a trailer? buy or build longer ramps? dont say "#1 reason to not buy a boss plow is loading and unloading". change your setup and make it work.

    Other than the obvious issues NOT with the plow but with not having the correct trailering situation.....The camera angle made me feel 6 yrs old again with my Dad telling me how to do something.....so, thanks for that.

  • @tjoens28
    @tjoens28 Před 3 lety +1

    I'm just spitballing here... But in my eyes this is almost like trying to deter people from buying the plow simply because you can't load it in the back of a pickup truck. I'm sure boss wasn't planning on people putting it in the back of their pickup truck lol. You can literally go to any big box store like home Depot or fleet farm and buy a cheap 5x8 for right around $1,000 and it would make transporting your four-wheeler way easier and way safer.

    Hello there , I am new to your channel . Just viewed your " ATV Snow Removal Setup and Transportation " video and enjoyed it very much ! Good job. I made some positive comments on it . I appreciate guys who : USE : AND NOT ABUSE : their expensive 4-Wheelers to make a living or supplement their income ! I am officially the Worlds Worst Driver , so I use a trailer with a fold-down ramp to move my equipment around between jobs . Thanks for all the good info. B&A.

    How does the plow function for what it was made to do , snow plowing?

    • @AutoPilotMT
      @AutoPilotMT  Před 5 lety +2

      Functions great for plowing, no complaints. Makes a lot of money, saves a lot of time, nothing but happy customers. Do I wish it had down pressure for back dragging? Yes. But it’s still a great plow.

      I just bought a Boss straight blade plow for my Suzuki 500 ATV. The plow seems heavy so much so I am considering attaching a carrier with weight on the rear of my ATV. I will have to wait until winter to see how well it works. Right now it just seems front end heavy

    • @AutoPilotMT
      @AutoPilotMT  Před 5 lety +1

      Did you have any problems with the rear tires traction providing forward
      movement while operating the heavy Boss plow? I’m thinking of using some kind of counterweight on the rear of ATV
      I guess I won’t know until I get to actually use it. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on a counterweight on the rear? Appreciate your post

      @tooldad8712 Před 4 lety

      I have been using the boss straight plow for 4 years commercially for walks and areas in parking lot where truck cannot get to easily. It took a 45 min walk job down to 10-15 min. My complaint with the v-plow is the weight. The straight is a poly plow so it's lighter. No issues. Only issue is we bent the mount while riding in summer from hitting a rock. Fabbing a brush guard to help prevent that.

  • @BenOfficial94

    Was hoping to pick up this plow. Contacted my closest dealer they're wanting 6600 CAD for it. that's about 5k USD. Bit disappointed with that after watching your videos I had my sights set on one haha.

    • @AutoPilotMT
      @AutoPilotMT  Před 3 lety +2

      Wow that is a steep price for one. I would ask around and see if someone could ship it to you for a better price. They jumped in price $1K+ USD since we originally bought ours when they first came out. Disappointing to see some dealers taking advantage of hard working customers.

    • @BenOfficial94
      @BenOfficial94 Před 3 lety

      @@AutoPilotMT Ya for sure caught me off guard with the price. I can't fault the dealer too much however. I imagine with exchange, import and freight it's not far off. But I'm disappointed as it's far out of reach for me and even if I did save for it I can't justify spending nearly that much.

      @ethanrobison9886 Před 2 lety

      First of all this a human error and this isn’t a boss problem. The truck is to high up and the plow does come off. Sooo I’d recommend getting a trailer to tow your quad and plow not the back of your truck

    • @AutoPilotMT
      @AutoPilotMT  Před 4 lety

      It’s something Boss can look at and try to improve on. Increasing the hydraulic lift would help increase stacking height along with being able to trailer it on more vehicles and help clear curbs and obstacles better. #1 reason everyone I chat with that doesn’t buy one besides price is being able to put it in the back of their trucks. Your right it’s not a Boss problem, but I believe their is always a way to improve upon a product and reach more consumers by listening to the consumers needs.

    • @keegancb84
      @keegancb84 Před 4 lety

      @@AutoPilotMT the issue isn't so much lack of height of the plow the issue is the soft suspension of your quad. Make sure your front springs are adjusted as tight as possible, if available a 1-2" lift in the front or heavier rated springs would help significantly.

  • @georgeglass1748
    @georgeglass1748 Před rokem

    Why not blame the truck. Or the short ramps, or the weak atv suspension. What a joke. A 6x6 across the bottom would solve the angle genius.
