Sultan Murad (Metin Akdülger) learns that Kösem Sultan wanted to kill him. Sultan Murad learns that his governor has agreed with the physician and sends Emir Çelebi's head to Kösem Sultan (Nurgül Yeşilçay). Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. Bağdat’tan dönen Sultan Murad, aldığı savaş yaralarıyla iyice takatten düşer. Hastalığı iyice ilerleyen Sultan Murad yatağa düşer. Sultan Murad’ın vaziyetinin kötü olduğunu öğrenen Kösem Sultan oğlunun başında bekler. Ana oğul hasta yatağında hesaplaşır.

Kosem became the very thing she hated. When she lied to Turhan, it reminded me a lot of how Halime broke her promise regarding her sons and the throne.
24:36, Turhan reminds of young Kosem. Brave, smart and ambitious. Kosem slightly proud of her, but the different of both of them. Turhan know the time to stop, before becoming an absolutely power.
Thats why a weak Ibrahim cannot loved and adore Turhan, cause remind him to his own mother.

I think Ibrahim might’ve loved Turhan. But, only when Turhan was young, naive, and innocent. But learning from Kosem and history, she knew she had to be strong for her children and Ibrahim wasn’t necessarily able to offer her the protection that she needed to ensure that her son and children remained safe. In 18:09 Its cool that they added a scene where little mehmed is practicing with arrows because in real life sultan mehmed was called mehmed the hunter or something. So its a cute easter egg
So basically this shows how Kosem became the very thing she initially fought against. A tyrant. And yet still saw herself as a 'protector of the innocent'. Even though it's clear that isn't the case anymore.

Hurrem and mahidevran wasn't a good compare, but turhan and kosem, these both women have brain, know how and when to act. But turhan was a little bit more good as when Mehmed matured, she didn't fight with him for power but let him rule freely as compared to Kosem.
mahidervan was the first wife and Hurrem the second, in this case it is the other way round. And there is no old Sultan to manipulate here.

@@SantomPh Mahidevran neither married suleiman, nor was his first favorite. Gulfem was his first favorite and Hurrem was his first and only legal wife. Mahidevran was Bash Kaden only after Gulfem's son died. Of course when Hurrem married suleiman, Mustafa's claim to the throne no longer became certain.
Dunno why many people compare Hurrem with Kosem. Kosem was much stronger, she was a woman of state, ruled the state, from this view she was way stronger than Hurrem. Hurrem had a beautiful love story with Suleyman, different era, different approach, she was more of a loving wife and carrying mother, Kosem was more of a ruler, a very good one if we think that Kosem's time was difficult, full of rebellions, corruption, she fought very hard times. In my opinion, Kosem is the strongest of Sultanas the Ottoman Empire had.

Turhan truly has the nerve. First she backstabbed a person who was always kind to her and taught her everything (and supported her son as future sultan after Ibrahim), now she comes to blackmail Kösem that she might to a bloody coup (and Ibrahim's dethronement is a certainty at this point because nobody can stand Ibrahim's rule). THE NERVE OF THAT SNAKE.
What was her reason for going against Kosem? I never understood

@@yumekojabami4179 Kosem tried to poison Mehmet and put one of his more obedient brothers on the throne. Kosem also killed Ibrahim and persecuted a lot of people she didn't need to, and constantly threatened Turhan. When Mehmet became the Sultan he stopped the practice of killing his brothers out of political intrigue, with both becoming Sultan after him.
Well Kosem literally groomed Turhan to be her perfect spy/ assistant and mother of Ibrahim's first son . She was a control freak who believed that only she was capable of ruling and that led to many deaths before Ibrahim became a king. Now Turhan has personally learned from Kosem also she was aware that as long as Kosem is alive she has the absolute power and not even the Sultan had a say cause psychotic Kosem could easily replace him. In addition to that Ibrahim hated her because for him she was his mother's spy who is only loyal to his mother so she was sidelined by him. So despite her closeness with Kosem she was always on guard with her and knew that in order for her son to be a true Sultan she has to get rid of hitler Kosem.
But it was Turhans luck that Kosem didn't kill her right away. Kosem had many chances to do so.
