Me too. I love her. She's become what she used to fight against but then who wouldn't , in such a toxic environment? Name one who remained a "saint"! Hurrem had the fortune of being backed up by Suleiman; she did stand up for herself but the reigning Sultan -- her husband -- played a significant role in what she later became - a powerful woman in an era where women were mere baby-factories . But Kosem's was an entirely different case. She rose to power but had to deviate from her normal self because if she didn't she'd cease to exist. She didn't have the back-up of Ahmed for long (as we all know, he dies young) and so, the maturing Kosem is thrown into a bottomless pit of conspiracies and intrigues against an endless array of enemies. Had she gotten the powerful company of Ahmed, she'd perhaps never have become what she turned out to be. Nevertheless, she's one admirable woman in history.

Remember the sweet mother Kosem who loved her baby Mehmed and did anything to protect him? Well she had to change from being a sweet woman to a manipulative, assertive woman if she wanted her bloodline to survive and continue, and in the end, Sultan Mehmed, son of Ibrahim, is her grandson. so we must say she was a successful woman though she got assassinated.

@Ells Loughland It is debetated if Gevherhan was Kosems daughter, but from what we know it seems more likely that Gevherhan was born to Mahfiruz Hatice Hatun and was therefor a full sister of Osman ii and Sehzade Bayezid, or she was born to an unknown concubine.
Ayse probably born 1605-1606, was most likely Kosems second child and first daughter. Then Fatma probably born around 1606-1608, as the third child and second daughter. Then Hanzade born around 1609, as the fourth child and third and last daughter. The birthdates are a bit uncertain, but based on when they were married it seems to be the most likely birth order.
You are entierly right about Atike, and about Atike and Turhan. Its another real life historical friendship I wish they had in the series, like Hurrem and Gulfem in the original series.

No one is a villain in the palace politics, everyone is doing what they can to stay relevant, survive and keep their bloodline alive. The young shehzades live in constant fear of whether their father or elder brother will execute them, hence they also become cruel and bloodthirsty when they become Sultans. The innocent young women who once believed in love, have to compete with 1000s of other concubines to try and stay in the favour of the Sultan, have a son and make sure he becomes the next Sultan. Even after their son becomes the Sultan, they have to stay in his good books and not get upstaged by a new concubine who her son loves. And if she has more sons, then she needs to protect her younger sons from the Sultan. It's a really tough life and would make anyone bitter and power hungry.

Did a sultan deserves punishment like this. Insult like this? How can i mother do this with his son? Sultan Murad was totally right about his mother that if murad goes kasim will come if kasim goes ibrahim with come.. You don't loves your kids your sons.. You loves the throne the power. He was totally right.. I thought hr wasn't right but now i came to know what he was doing with his mother was totally right. He was powerful and strong enough so that's why kosem was unable to dethrone him.. Even kosem tried but she failed.. Now sultan ibrahim was not that much mentally and physically strong so she dethrone him. I know sultan ibrahim was wasting the money. He wasn't controlling the state and the empire as a sultan should be and that was because of his mental health.. We can't blame him. Ok i agree you can dethrone him but why you killed him😭😭😭😭😭 why? How you can kill your own son. If he was wrong so you should dethrone him and send him to anotyer country or some where so far from the empire.. You don't even have to closed him in the Chambers and in the dark room because he was your own son.. But you still hurt him. Punish him and even killed him😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.. You created the rule that no sultan will not able or allow to killed his brothers and Shazadas cause you wants to save your own childrens but then what happened to you kosem 😠😠😠😠😠. You were the one who killed his sons. Started from Sultan Murad and then killed Sultan Ibrahim so mercilessly and cruely😭😭😭😭 how and why? You can send him to somewhere instead of killing him but still you hurt and Punish your own son. Your own blood. You don't deserves the word of a mother 😠😠😠😠
Tid for thad.. You think turhan will obey you.. You think turhan will support you so you are stupid and damn wrong.. You thinks making him son as sultan will makes you powerful so you are idiot and stupid 😑..
A cruel person can't be forgiven. You didn't shows mercy to your own blood to your own son so that's why you were killed too mercilessly and cruely by turhan sultan.. That's the moral of this whole story.. Never killed anyone so mercilessly always shows mercy to other cause the next day same thing can be happened with you too ☺️
