The people in these comments are comparing Hurrem and Kosem when their situations don’t even add up. Let’s remember that Hurrem was never Valide Sultan and Kosem was. Kosem did what she could to keep her children and herself alive just like Hurrem. Hurrem didn’t just kill to keep her kids safe she also killed for power. Kosem was a ruler and a woman and at the time people hated those two words put together. Plus Ibrahim was mentally ill which is why he was overthrown. She even believed Faray existed.

I don't know if Turhan really ended the empire. In fact, her respect for her son's independence ended the sultanate of women. For all intensive purposes, she kind of brought back normalcy and a competent sultanate.

For those who blame that Kosem Sultan was power hungry, first of all Murad IV became very brutal as it is listed in history so killing him was all she could do because if she replaced him or locked him up, he will come back and order her deaht sentence and actually the reason to killing Ibrahim were two:\

And following that point he could have caused the end of ottoman empire right there

Murad did everything to reestablish order and law in ottoman empire, he was so brutal but it worked, Kosem was part of a corrupt system that she got benefitted from, Murad preferred to end the dinasty and put in charge a new one in order to preserve the empire, Ibrahim was mad since Murad's rule, but Kosem did everything to not loose power, even if it meant giving the throne to a mad guy. It would have been better for both Ibrahim and the empire if Murad achieved this goals, the empire would have not suffered from Ibrahim's government and Ibrahim would have not suffered that much. Murad IV was cruel but Kosem was even worse.
The reson why Kosem did not kill Mustafa was that he was not a serius threth or danger to otteman and it’s pepol while Ibrahim was a serius danger to that,all in all Kosem was not evil but someone burdend with difficolt task of keeping the otteman and it’s pepol in a good state and I think Kosem if sve knew what Turhan did afterwords to stabelise things would been proud

In magnificent kosem. The biggest issue was that her children never trusted her and were always lead by some other party that was against kosem. In whole season i havent seen kosem could win against murad or ibrahim. They both did their own thing even with kosem. But everybody blamed kosem. In magnificent Hurem the major success of hurrem was her children whi fought for her. Who trusted her and stood for her. No body could use her children against her.
