  • Sultana Mihrimah Sets Prince Murad Against His Father Selim! "THEY WILL BECOME ENEMIES"
    Click for full episodes playlist 👉 • Magnificent Century Fu...
    The Magnificent Century takes leave with a breathtaking final episode. Suleiman gets plunged into darkness after Bayezid died and he gets even sicker. Selim tries to releive his pain falling back upon alcohol. Defne fights with all her strength to be able to protect her son. She understands there's no way out while she sees Nurbanu in front of her. The mother and her son walk towards the death holding onto each other. Mihrimah gets Nurbanu in a big trouble flaming with vengeance. Gulfem tries to kill Suleiman considering he is the responsible of everything has happened. However, the night ends with a dark secret. After the agony, Selim comes in the capital as the only heir to the throne. Mihrimah severs all ties with Selim since she sees him as a fratricide. Suleiman loses his strenght day by day and gets furious when he hears what his people talk about him.
    And Suleiman the Magnificent goes for his last journey in a blaze of glory. An era ends while Suleiman the Sultan of the world gasps his life out!
    At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
    The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
    As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

    In reality, Hurrem never received the hostility portrayed by the show, except for the bathhouse incident with Mahidevran. Hafsa treated Hurrem well because Suleyman wished it so. All the infighting and banishments portrayed in the show more accurately depict Safiye's life under Nurbanu's rule of the harrem.

    Let me tell everyone what happened next (in actual history)
    Selim and Mihrimah eventually reconciled after Suleyman's death as both of them were the only ones surviving in the family. Mihrimah even helped Selim to have a smooth succession to the throne by paying the janissaries their ascention fee which was due. Selim remained grateful towards her for the rest of his life because otherwise he could've been deposed or worse, killed. As for Nurbanu and Mihrimah, both of them respected each other and cooperated with each other to manage the harem. As for Safiye and Nurbanu, both of them got involved in a dirty game of harem politics especially after Murad III ascended the throne. Mihrimah's daughter Ayse Humasah became a great supporter of Safiye. It is possible that even Mihrimah supported her from background. As a side note I would like to mention that Hurrem and Nurbanu were never hostile to each other. It is well known that Nurbanu considered Hurrem to be her role model. Unfortunately, fate made them stand in opposing sides in the civil war.

      when you know the real history its hard to watch the dramas!!! I read empresses of the east and few papers on Academia bc I was interested after watching , the Russian concubines yes Hurrem did loose it about being beaten by mahi yes really happened called her a dog or Russian meat she was actually BFF with Gulfem hatun and the reasons Suielman killed Mustafa was because of Sulieman's own insecurities about the heir to the throne after Mehmet passed of small pox He really feared Mustafa's popularity and the thoughts of what his own father did to secure the throne.... they had 6 children not 5 Mehmet was his favorite Hurrem was much more accepted and respected than the show portrays

    Such a shame the writers didn't portray this as "the cycle repeats itself in the harem". Hürrem made her path and came out on top, Nurbanu walked that same path and went against Hürrem the same way she went against Valide Hafsa. Mihrimah goes down the "hate the Haseki Sultan" path and does exactly what Hatice, Sah, and Fatma were doing. Then Safiye goes down the path Hurrem and Nurbanu went down, going against the Valide Sultan (future Valide in Nurbanu's case) herself, most likely Murad's sisters acted against her too.

    This entire series shows that history repeats itself if you dont learn from history and i think till kosem no one learned from the history...it was only turhan who learned from history and thereafter i have not seen any women sultan having the same fate as that of kosem and before her.

    • @KoiYakultGreenTea
      @KoiYakultGreenTea Před dnem

      Kosem tried. She supported Mustafa over her own sons. Only when he went mad did she put Osman on the throne and even then she promoted a son that's not her to the throne over hers knowing it's a risk. Then when Osman killed her eldest son I think she finally realised the cycle will keep going and so when she took power herself she solidified it for murad and most likely stepped down without much drama even though she was sent to the old palace by her son which I think was slightly threatened by her rightfully so cos she was the real power while he wain minority and had connections and allies. But he still trusted her with some things. When he died it was one son after the other that was weak and it was because she was too powerful. They all loved in fear their brother would execute them until it finally went down to w grandson did Turhan seize power. Some people argue it destabilized the empire. It never was as great as it was since kosem. But it also stabilised succession by making finally the rules of succession more stable. But every Sultan that came after wasn't as great as they were before or since

    In the show, Mirimah, after that, tucked tail and fled.
    Do you know why? Because she knew that if she was to stay, she'd have to clash with Selim and Nurbanu directly. Just like Hatice, Sah and Fatma had done with her parents.
    And I think that Mirimah leaves, because she doesn't want to give her aunts the satisfaction that she has found herself in the exact same situation they had found themselves into. She doesn't want to at least justify their dislike for her mother, because the dislike she feels for Nurbanu is not at all different
