"MUSTAFA'S CRIES OF "DAD"" Magnificent Century Episode 123: • Magnificent Century Ep...
Suleiman falls into silence after he decides that Mustafa will be executed. Mustafa gets a call from the military camp with Suleiman's order. Hürrem gets worried about Suleiman's behaviors and understands this is the end for Mustafa. Musafa doesn't want to believe that his father will kill him. Cihangir wants his father to promise to not to kill Mustafa. Sparrowhawk and Yahya of Taşlıca plans a revold behind Mustafa's back. Sparrowhawk realizes the betrayal at the last moment and meets the death. And Mustafa walks in to the marquee.
Suleiman has made his decision!
Suleiman falls into silence of the decision he has made. Hürrem gets worried the way he behaves. Cihangir and Bayezid tries to convince Suleiman that Mustafa has been trapped. However, Suleiman has made up his mind.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

From the day first he loved mehmet over mustafa bcoz Mehmet was son of her evil lover. After 500 years love n lots of prayers for Mustafa .
I'm a Hurrem stan till the end but my heart always breaks for Mustafa everytime I watch this scene. He was innocent, just a victim of the circumstances. He deserved so much better.

It's always Mahidervan v. Hurrem, but there is much more nuance and context missing. Kingship; how to maintain, rule and legacy. Suleiman's father, Selim l rebelled and dethroned his father, Bayezid ll. This wasn't ancient history and Suleiman knew it well.
Mustafa did an amazing job fending off those executioners, every time I watch him run towards the entrance, a part of me hopes he makes it out of there alive. But alas, it was not meant to be!
The executioners were pretty useless tbh.
@@newhybrid101 in real life, mustafa was a top dog, there were a lot of executioners and they still couldnt get him, they tried multiple times and he still beat them, they almost give up
Here is some historic background. After his execution there were numerous rebelions in Amasya, Manisa and Konya. He was the prince of the people. To cut some slack to Selim he gave Mahidervran back all her wealth when he was named Sultan and built a Turbe for Mustafa in Manisa he also spared his children. This show was so amazing and captivating. Acting and music score top notch.
Unfortunately, the show depicts Selim as a fool who has no respect for his family and never owns up to his faults.
Perhaps the popular historians from that time also supported Mustafa. I am in England and there are many events in the history that have been written from the English perspective. Perhaps Sultan Selims reign was similar?
Mustafa's children weren't spared, his son was executed by Sulieman

@@pragyapaul3231 True also Mustafa was a wortht prince but he was arrogant as off how his mother tells him stuffs in his head. Besides that his supporters deliberately killed him
The "Suleiman" you saw when executing his child, was not the "father" but the "emperor" one. A Father wouldn't see his son as a rival, but certainly a Ruler will see everyone as one. I think this serial has explained it before, which Sultan Suleiman has two perspective.
I am with Suleiman in his decision to kill Mustafa....and with Hurrem in her strategies....I just wanted to tell those who always criticize Hurrem about her struggle against Mustafa that Hurrem was not close to Mustafa as Suleiman was but then also Suleiman decided to kill him to protect his throne....but according to some Hurrem trying to kill Mustafa in order to protect her own children is wrong.
This scene always makes me cry how Sulieman can do that, how he can be manipulated that easily and also watches his son executed in front of his eyes and then also says "hurry up". Do you know the meaning of cheating?
He didn't cheat on anyone.
Ottoman sultan's had harem and they all had countless lovers.
Hurrem herself stole Suleiman from mahidevran, so it's funny how you think Suleiman cheated on hurrem lol.
Suleiman is a sultan who had harem and hurrem knew Suleiman would sleep with other women of his harem.

Youre not an emperor in that age so relax lol
Selim's response had nothing to do with grief. He can't stand the sight of blood or death. He vomits nearly every time he sees something of this nature and although there was no blood, Selim knows exactly how Mustafa died and it is also a warning/realization that he too may one day feel his father's wrath. Since you want to go there (history) of which you know nothing and it’s embarrassing. There’s no concrete proof that Hurrem was behind Mustafa’s execution. It’s all theories and speculations, no historian has confirmed and proved this. Moreover, even if Hurrem did it she’s completely justified. She was protecting her children, if Mustafa became the next Sultan he would have executed her sons. What would you do? Do nothing and let someone kill your children? You wouldn’t do everything in your power to save them?
In the show, please stfu. Mahidevran the snake killed Mehmet and started the hostility with Hurrem by beating her and poisoning her while pregnant. Who in their right mind can blame Hurrem for defending herself? Mustafa decided to become Hurrem’s enemy on his own and threaten her children. Any mother would go after the danger to her children. In the show Mustafa’s death is primarily Mahidevran’s fault. She turned her son against Hurrem and Suleiman and sealed his fate with her own hands.

Heart wrenching episode, never has any clue that he will be executed by his own Baba, 😥
Although I feel sad for Mustafa, historically he made some big mistakes and he was also asking for the Venetians help in his struggle for the throne plus the Janissary’s were one of the main reason behind his execution, they did some things for mustafa which was undermining Suleiman’s rule and when a King or Sultan feels that his authority is challenged even from his own son, it is not unusual to kill him to eliminate the threat especially if you have other children that are capable enough to sit on the throne
Well said, exactly like this.
According to history.... many people think that is some weakness or cruelty to execut his own sons BUT we don't see what is behind it, we don't see what the ruler feel. He can have broken heart, he can become broken but still he does his duety! We must realize that the monarch is really first and foremost a monarch/ruler, than the father (or husband, brother, ..) is responsible for the whole state, stability, the lives of millions of subjects. And betrayal, hence high treason, is the greatest crime (!), and even greater in the case of the dynasty. The ruler has a duty to follow the law and execute the rebels and traitors, whoever they are.... even if they are close relatives and people he likes.
So people should not blame Süleyman (historicaly) for executed his sons who were traitors. It's probably not weakness but strengh and unbelievble loyalty and devotion to his principal meaning (rule by justice). He may not have wanted to execute his children (as a father), but he HAD TO (as a ruler).
If he had spared them, he might have been more merciful and just in the eyes of the common people, but that is not really the case. If he spared relatives for betraying (the state, the empire, the monarch), it would be nepotism, illegal and therefore unjustice.... He should spared them only because they are his children? That would not be right. He can't make exceptions. No one make harder decision and hasn't more duties than monarch... and no one else would not be able to execute own children for treason, not for pleasure, but for duty and law. Only monarchs can have this responsibility and courage to do it. Of course is terrible to execute own children - but that doesn't change the fact, that it must be so if there is no other way and it must to do. Even a loving father-monarch can (therefore must) execute his children if the law so requires and they have committed highest treason.
@@niketesambrosiosdelagrece2266 I never mentioned only about Mustafa. He is so different between hurrem and mahidevan. Which is not a justice emperor. This is the third or fourth time I watch this Serie but I still can't overcome this scene 😢😢😢😢 I can't believe how can a father put the POWER above the life of his son?
He gave his life he wanted that he got what he wanted
One word from him would have changed his fate but that wS his decision
Dont believe the show so much. Suleiman was way lore powerul than mustafa

If Mustafa was in fact historically innocent, it was a terrible crime on Suleiman's part. He would have been a worthy ruler. If Suleyman wanted to be emperor to the end, he should have ruled justly, not made indulgences for the children of Hürrem.
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain you fear to become

hahahahahha! SHOSHO bot, your Mustafa was never a pure or innocent hero, only in your dreams 😆😆😆
Though a lot of this series is dramatized heavily to attract viewers this scene was perfectly done. Imo Sultan Suleiman was the last great Sultan and that was because he failed to pass the throne to a worthy son. Mehmed and Cihangir both died young but Mustafa and Bayezid both would've been good sultans. Mustafa especially would've been most likely a great Sultan rivalling his father and possibly even reaching the fame and greatness of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. All speculation but it is sad that the Empire was handed down to Selim who spent most of his time drunk and was a spoilt brat and all nobody from Selim ii onwards was anything special. The Ottoman Empire just slowly began to crumble. Mustafa is one of the biggest "what ifs" in history.
Another thing to add, brilliant plan by Sultan Suleiman and Rüstem. A single mistake would've costed them their life. But they executed it to perfection (no pun intended)
I'm a huge fans of Hurrem on this movie whole episode but it's soo hurt to see this scenes Suleiman jus sit there n watch Mustafa struggle for his life💔🙏very sad n it's not the way to kill a price like Mustafa 🙏🙏💔💔💔💔
I'm sorry but if anyone is still a fan of hurrem after watching this. he is a psycho .
How can a father get his son executed, that too infront of his own eyes??.him telling them to hurry up was just cruel.
He is a bad father
Great actors! Acting is superb...
Love this better than GoT though the actors performance was also great👍
And then Suleiman had the audacity to hug him after, and to beg him to wake up by crying his name 😡😖😡
So he should have let mustafa kill him his wife and his other children right? Very realistic

Just as I gave a farewell speech for Hatice sultan, I feel like I have to offer one for Prince Mustafa.
Mustafa, you were loyal, fair, just, popular/beloved by the people, competent and decisive. Everything an ottoman sultan should be. Everything a father should have from a son.
Sadly for you, your mother chose to whine, scheme and plot instead of helping you and keeping out of trouble. Because of that, you became reckless and you were treating Suleiman like your father first instead of your King.
You made a series of mistakes that eventually lead to your dismissal. You refused to listen to your father's advice, you refused to take his commands into a fully account and you married against his will and wishes. Because of this, you fell victim to sycophants like Rustem, who didn't miss a single opportunity to dig your grave with their schemes and lies.
Farewell, Mustafa. May you find peace in the great heaven beside your aunt.
Hahahaha! Shosho bot! Mehmed was loved by people, Suleiman and everyone- real Sultan. Mustafa’s eviil mother Mahidevran killed him.

@@gunescelik4207 you're right.
@@gunescelik4207 Mehmet didn't deserve to die like that. It wasn't honourable. He deserved better
I have changed my mind over the year on this whole thing. Mustafa, at least on the show, really didn't cultivate a relationship with his father. He chose his mother, never saw her flaws, chose Ibrahaim and never really saw his either. He was constantly acting on this own not with the direction of his father in a world where being the eldest does not make you the next Sultan. You earn it through obedience and trust. Instead of cultivating trust he allowed himself to be the star--this is why Suleimon didn't trust him anymore at this point. Mustafa fans forget all the things he did that weren't right. How he treated Helena wasn't right. How he answered for his father wasn't right. How he talked to his father? Out of everyone the purest relationship he had was actually with Mehmet--and how much of that was Mehmet?
Mahidevran was his father and mother
@@irenej.lising8863 By their own choice. Instead of shutting up and doing as told, Mahidevran did things behind the Sultan’s back and conspired with his best friend to do their own will.
Yap and it pained me Mehmet's life was cut short..
Mustafa had a blind trust for his father..
He never built trust, always going against his fathers will
But when something goes wrong and he has to answer for it,
He always believed things would go his way...
This was a sort of manipulation as far as I am concerned...
What would you tell about Sulayman's blindness on his viziers and Hurrem. He should have understood that they will try everything to eliminate Mustafa. If Solayman really wanted give justice, he could give Mustafa a chance of self defense. Instead he sought verdict from a Mufti without doing any investigation. It was Sulayman's paranoia about what his father did to his grandfather. A paranoid person can't do justice.
@@jessicabethel4224 i think all start when hurem enter the palace. my question is, did sultan sulaeiman hiself act as father figure towards mustafa?
The problem of hurrem fans is they are blind. They don't try to see Hurrem's sins.Where she is the most devil here
The problem with people like you is that you consistently ignore the fact that once a Shezade becomes Sultan, he is obliged by law to execute all of his brothers. Any woman worthy of being called a mother would do what Hürrem did. The same goes for Mahidevran killing Mehmed
Mahidevran killing Mehmed. So its fair is Mustafa dead i think
@@todorstojanov3100 That's not true at all, that law was made by Sultan Mehmed II and only another sultan was able to abolish that law, so if Hurrem were really concerned about her children why didn't she work hard to make Suleyman abolish that terrible law? She litteraly had decades to do that, even if Mustafa were'nt there anymore she had 4 princes who will eventually might kill each other, instead she spent all those years trying to kill his stepson Mustafa at all cost, making his life impossible and manipulating Sultan Suleyman to put him against him own son just because he was the only prince who was equally loved and respected by the rich, the poor and the army, even Hurrem's children respected him.
The reality is Hurrem was evil indeed, once she got the power she couldn't get enough, and she wanted more and more power for her and for her children, that`s it.

It's the MOST tragic scene to see, a FIRST born son loved by his own father from the beginning only to be killed by his own father...
That's the CURSE OF THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE AND IT'S ROYAL FAMILY
First born is a bit of a tricky one, Sulieman had 2 older sons before him, so technically he is the Oldest SURVIVING son.
Still a tragedy, still a terrible tradition, just pointing out in this scenario that mustafa does not carry that "you were the person who made me a father" vibe that first borns carry.

In the show sulieman had children before him with Gulfem, if i die my younger sister (by 2 years) is not now suddenly the first born.
Its still sad and is still the first child of suliemans to make it to adulthood but he was not his first child. If anything as Sulieman has buried so many children before (mahmud, raziye, murad, mehmed and abdullah) in a way makes this more tragic that he is choosing to end Mustafa.

😢😢😢
Why those tears now ..
How amazing it would've been in real life if Mustafa had gotten out of the tent. Suleyman would've been toast.
The reason everyone resonates with this particular death is because show gives more screen time to it, every other character has a reaction to this death, even Hurrem cries because of it. We are given couple of episodes showing aftermath, Mahidevran's suffering etc.
When Mahidevran killed Mehmed there was only one third of episode given to it and only reaction we get is Mihrimah 10 second reaction and Suleiman's internal monologue.
But still you will notice a particular difference; Hurrem was crying over this victory while Mahidevran was smiling when she recieved news about Mehmed's death. Mehmed, a prince who took a arrow meant for her Mustafa.
But hurrem caused this
Movie wise, IRL he died of chickenpox and not killed by mahid . Historically it’s proven hurrem and rustem killed mustafa and the hoorbike sulaiman discovered this after and still grieved hurrem death lol. Idk whose worse him or hurrem, pure inhumanity
@@Reemm-124 it is not proven that Mustafa was not traitor either. So if he was actually traitor Suleiman had no choice but to end him.
The worst decisions by Suleiman and turning point to decline of the ottoman empire
i'd say all of this is because of mahidevran and her curses towards Hurrme when they were a lil bit younger. i guess everything happened as Hurrem wanted, having her son as padishah soon after suleiman's death
Suleiman was old and he ruled for 40+ years by that time. Yet, he was afraid of his apparent heir taking over? Why couldn't he just retire and give the throne voluntarily if he was scared of a forced takeover? It was the bloodline of the Ottoman Empire after all, not just his son.
IN REAL LIFE SULIEMAN IS SAID TO HAVE TOLD THEM TO HURRY UP. HE MUST OF BEEN VERY THREATENED BY HIS OWN SON. FRATRICIDE LAW WAS SO UTTERLY SADISTIC IT MAKES NO SENSE WHY IT WAS KEPT FOR SO LONG. 😮😢
