Now all we need is Ty in his pajamas holding a beer while emptying the black tank into into a storm sewer to complete the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation reference!
I’m always amused when syd fast forwards through the work and you can see Ty talking at the camera. It’s as if she’s saying “shut up old man” lol
Ty was in rare form today!!! Replacing the toilet must have been a heady experience!!!
I see what U did there! Well done.
@@DYoung-vt8pq Thank you! Thank you very much!
I'd suggest putting clamp gears opposite the valve handle to save the knuckles being cut in them! When you turn handle you surly gonna scuff your knuckles in them I learn't my life lessons
Ty, never put the “crimped” part of an Oetiker clamp directly under the ball valve handle. Guaranteed that every time you close off that valve, you’ll take some bark off your knuckles. Experience can be a painful teacher.
Feels good to get those meaningful projects done doesn't it? Something you will USE on a regular basis, that makes a space truly livable.
Hot/Cold running water and Flushing Toilets!
Cmonnnnnnn we Been waiting for the a/c video. we are melting heeere!
No, Ty! When not in use, toilet seats should remain closed. Unless you like fishing random objects out of the toilet! Can't wait 2 see you guys on the seas. Be well ❤
Great job! Like your water pump! not cheap! Hope it will last many years. Rules on my boat, no stand-up pee , even men seat-down!
I have a yacht service business and love replacing old pressure pumps from Jabsco and Groco with the Marco pumps!
Getting closer to a useable cataminium 😂😂 flow until your ready to set sail🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺
Beautiful plumbing job! Congratulations!
... it's the little things... ❤ 😊
That ending is "NO THANK YOU!"
I always told Janis that is she leaves the toilet lid down that makes my “aiming” hole smaller and that I’m not responsible for misses!!!!
You can get reuseable versions of those clamps. Then you just need a set of hose clamp pliers to take em off and re-attach them, but for the cost your probs as well with single use ones if have plenty in stock.
👍✅🤣 Sailors are all nuts, we get so excited over a toilet that works!
You guys are so funny. I catch myself LoL 🤣Ty, I heard on the Antares Channel with Mark and talked about that water pump being the best to buy.
My PEX is probably 15 years old and is splitting on slight bends. Giving me the shits, i have ordered all new piping, blue and red, along with quick connects. My system is not as complex or extensive as would be on the Leopard. I went to a caravan shop, same brand as you get at matine shops but cheaper!
Oh i am eliminating all bends by putting in elbows.
That was real nice, Clark
we allways used a peach tin for number ones , only at night, point and shoot over the stern day time . the skipper got real upset when you used the head. but you do have girls on board, have a boys only head i bet it stays working longer than the girls. those that stuff them unstuff them.!
great work !!!
You should install a cross over line with a valve, and a air line. Makes it easy to check for leaks and to clean the lines out
Thank you for cutting away... hahahahahahahaha
The comment on hot water tank reminded me I put in a Long Life HWT with the tank being Stainless Steel with a life time warranty. I have to replaced enough tanks to know the added cost ( maybe 50% more) was worth every dime.
Great episode
If you lose your water maker, you and your guests are in a bad way. You want redundancy through a mix of seawater toilets or super-simpler bottomless toilets (for use while sailing only obviously).
I noticed the importance of these redundancies during the break-in sea trials on the new Ruby Rose II CZcams videos (the one with the Winnns)
the toilet seat stay up in my house not down.😄
Hello gang, a quick question regarding toilets on boats! Especially with the advent of better and better water makers, and the disgusting pluggage from arrant toilet paper, why hasn’t someone designed boat heads as a washlet (bidet)? Keep the t.p. out of the washroom and someone won’t accidentally flush it down the head, I asked a few years ago at the Annapolis Boat Show and the only response I got was where would you put a bidet? I replied in place of the head!!! For you especially with the merried of boat projects, new water lines run, if nothing else, I guess the closest version is the “ bum gun”. Love the channel, I hope one day soon you’ll be sailing and not the only memories you’ll die with are boat projects! Cheers for Canada’s Left Coast.
Interesting thought, personally we have NEVER had a clogged head from toilet paper (and we use Charmin). Only calcification from salt water and an occasional q-tip. If you keep the lid down (so things don’t fall in) and only flush tp there really is no issue.
YES! He is wrong! The toilet seat should always stay closed!
Rule #1, keep the water on the outside of the boat :)
mr crapper designed it to suck out the smell out the lid down
Have seen all of your videos! Great to see you guys making this project come together.
The pump seems very nice, alot of flow and very quiet. I changed to a sureflow 5gpm, but that pump is soo loud. Even after I insulated the box its in its very loud.
You said the brand was Marco, but you didnt say the model number, can you post the modelnumber of the pump please?
Greetings from Norway 😀
Great progress! Closer than ever!
Hi Ty, with two water heaters, why don't you have a closed loop hot water system to save the loss of water as one waits for the hot water to arrive?
The only thing worse - for women - than not having at least 1 toilet, is being the one who discovers the toilet doesn’t flush 😮 good luck getting moved onto the boat!
Any particular reason that you used the white push fittings in places vs. all brass?
I noticed you used both crimped pex fittings (in brass) as well as sharkbite-type push fittings (in pvc). Out of curiosity was there any methodology you had in mind in deciding where you used what type of fitting (sharkbite vs crimp, pvc vs brass)? I used brass sharkbite fittings when I replaced my freshwater system and I've always wondered if I should have used crimped fittings in some places and or PVC 🤔😅.
Ty go buy a pogo stick and toilet plunger and screw them together for those really big azz turds. Just jump up and down and let it be free, flush again to see. Repeat if necessary.. Honey do this honey do that , what a great H & W team ,she is priceless gotta get me one.. Thx guys.
Geeze! Girls expect so much don't they Ty, running water, air conditioning, flushing toilets, hot water. Most of us would be happy just to go sailing, hang the arse over the side, wait a couple min, jump in & wash, cool down.(hears girls in back ground) Oh it's not us girls that want all that, all Ty, he also wants a heater on the seat.
Spring clamps are the best, especially v spider. Vehicle industries been using them for years, marine way behind.
@13:10, if close, maybe feed a line to anchor well to rinse chain after pull. I prefer filling & adding vinegar + dish soap, let it soak, spray remaining.
Gotta line up good to nail that loo hole without hitting the sides, needing a brush. I trained my boys to sit, otherwise they have to clean to eat.
The exit hole in that toilet is TOO SMALL! Not going to work, you will end up replacing it. Or it can be a "pee pee only" toilet. OR you can eat prunes at every meal.
Another Great Video. And I must agree with the seat position, but my wife disagrees.
men should pee sitting to avoid massive amount of urine splatter especially if you have to clean it up yourself
The hot and cold valves you are using are regular household valves in the uk and have been standard regulation for decades.. I'm quite surprised that they are new to you in the us.
Why fresh water in the heads. Why waste fresh water?
It looks like you should invest in a little battery powered fan for use in those small spaces you're working in like the engine room.
Good Morning! Great video, had a question, lately I've seen lots of pex usage (All on land) and they had used a plastic ring at the end of the hose, and a mechanical "expander" the used to temporarily increase the diameter of the pipe, then after a few minutes it shrinks down and creates the seal... Are those not for marine usage? I would figure it would be better since its plastic with plastic so no chance of corrosion whatsoever salt or fresh.
I think that's one of the differences between PEX A and PEX B. PEX A uses the expansion type fittings you describe, but it appears that Dauntless has PEX B installed. Do a search for "PEX A vs PEX B" for lots of explanations about the differences.
Fresh water in Kim's Boat is a No Bueno....besides in the self contained fresh water system.
What pump are you using ?
