The trick to avoid the bubbles while glueing paper on other surface is actually puting the glue on the paper, not on the wood. The paper expands because of the humidity in the glue and dryes perfectly flat.

wow!
Thank you. I needed to know that. You saved me a lot of headache. Thank you!
When the glue is too thick for my project, I usually dilute it a little bit with water and use a brush or roller to apply it . Also using a scrapper helps to get rid of the bobbles.
Wow! Thanks for the tip! 🙌🏻
Kudos for being one of the few flippers I view who goes beyond the surface and actually sands and oils the drawers , interiors and backs of the furniture. Great job.
Thanks ☺️
I have just found this channel and agree that he is very thorough and professional, the only other flipper I have watched who is such a perfectionist is Transcend Furniture Gallery channel here on CZcams, Angie is also an inspiration to watch.
@@karenlouisereeder4501 thank you 🙏
@@karenlouisereeder4501 I love her channel too😜
@@karenlouisereeder4501 Kacha does beautiful work also.
Oh and thank you for saving it from the landfill and giving it a great new life.
You worked hard on this piece and it turned out beautiful. Sell it as an entry table….that would b the first wow thing people would see.
What if he wants to keep it?
Beautiful finished table. The wallpaper is so dramatic and elegant. Excellent choice.
Your dressing table turned entry hall table is very nice. It turned out beautifully. When you glue paper down apply the glue to the paper. Use a plastic card such as a credit card or old gift card to smooth the paper down starting in the center of the paper and work outward. I am looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
Coming soon 😜
You attention to detail and going so far as to even finish the inside of the drawers and even the back of the piece is stepping things up into super excellence. The hair pin legs are a nice unexpected touch that somehow works well with the end product. You created a one of a kind piece of furniture people will desire in their homes.
Thank you!
Absolutely stunning!! Love your choice of finishes, and the fact that you did the entire piece -- not just the outside. 🌟👍
Thank you ☺️ you’re very kind
What a TRANSFORMATION! WOW!
To me, it looks like a console table found in a front entry. Perfect height for dropping off keys/mail by thr front door!
WELL DONE!!
I LOVE YOUR BEAUTIFUL RENOVATION OF THIS VANITY OR OCCASIONAL TABLE!!!!
IT IS SO GORGEOUS!!!
💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you 😊
Talk about some creative choices! Def a new look on an old piece. Can't believe it was in the garbage. Great find!
Thank you ☺️
For applying wallpaper and vinyl to wood, I cut my PVA glue- 1 to 1 water to glue ratio- and apply that evenly to the material I'm adding. It slides around for positioning and lets out any bubbles much easier that way. An even coat should dry smooth. Nice little desk or vanity!
It is pretty telling that you clean up, sand and wax the inside. It shows your attention to details and professionalism. Makes the piece really come back to life.
I would add glass on the top! Beautiful entry table with a basket to the now open shelf for keys.
You could have added a small amount of water to the PVA and then brushed it on. X
Thanks for the tip👍
Oh I love the paper, it gives it a very grand and regal look. It would be beautiful in an entry hallway or maybe in a bay window. You are very clever and talented and I love your very honest narration on the video. Thank you for sharing this with us x
Thank you! 😊
I love that you sand the drawers and wax them so far you're the only one I've seen that does this
Great job on the table
❤️
Wow! This is really beautiful. I love it. You would never think those components would go together harmoniously. But you would be wrong.
Thank you! 😊
Been enjoying your videos. This one is an older one. No workshop, no plethora of tools. No cats. But wonderful piece. Thank you.
Ha ha. Old school 😂 thanks for watching
Again you have created a new look for this furniture and brought it back to life.😂😂😂😂
I never would have thought of using wallpaper this way. Ingenious. The result was striking.
I didn't expect it to look so nice given that wall paper was used. It transformed into a beautiful piece.
Thank you ☺️
Wow! A entry table for sure..makes a statement!
Thanks Jan !
This turned out so beautiful. I'm gonna go out and get some wallpaper, bc I never would have thought to use it. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you liked it and definitely give it a try😜
Really beautiful wallpaper. One of the easiest transformations you have done! You didn't use any fancy tools! Beautiful!
that's because I didn't have any ha ha This is one of my first videos.
I love that you sand the inside and outside of the drawers...clean like new.
I would imagine that this gets rid of the old, musty smell that antique furniture always seems to acquire.
If I had a bigger entré, this beautiful furniture would be perfect, keys, gloves, scarfs, etc... ❤❤❤
Marvelous!!! And thank you for taking care of all sides of the furniture and not just the pretty side!!!
There is a basic furniture.. you convert it into a ROYAL furniture 😱👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍💖
🤩
That baroque wallpaper is absolutely gorgeous and looks wonderful on this piece.
Thank you Laura ;-)
I'm sceptical about the longevity of wallpaper on furniture, but you can't deny that the result was beautiful.
Oh wow what a beautiful piece of furniture! I love the wallpaper you used, as I said before I love your attention to detail and the amount of care you put in a piece of furniture! A brilliant video! Just love what you do! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Jan , much appreciated ;-)
That was so creative! And the result is beautiful. Bravo!🐝🤗❤️
That saying couldn't be more true. "One man's trash is another man's treasure"
What a sweet happy little piece. Love the paper
🥰
I would NEVER have imagined you could put wallpaper on a piece of furniture. This looks fabulous!
thanks Tammara
Using a brush to apply the glue will make for a smoother finish and is easier than using your finger I think. Absolutely beautiful, congratulations!
WOW! That’s was creative and striking! Great work!
Thanks 😊
😊 Loved the outcome. The man I see skillfully working and making this beautiful table sounds so uncertain of himself...but this is the first video I've seen of yours. May you be blessed.
I was thinking, there's no way he can make that look good. I was wrong
Watch more! He's talented
That vanity is at a better height with the new legs that you picked. Beautiful job.
How clever if you to use real wallpaper. Really made it elegant, not cheesy or cutesy. Excellent job. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💜
Glad you like it!
Beautifully done! It's amazing what people throw out, isn't it? Honestly, you did a marvelous job on this vanity =)
Thank you 😊 it was in a rough shape 😂
@@Flippingdrawers Not anymore, 🤩 LOL‼️🥰😘🤣
These are not restorations they are works of art. Master Class
You are too kind 😊
I liked it with the wood color in contrast to the wallpaper instead of the black. I think it was more eye catching and interesting.
I actually agree. The main reason I painted it was so the edges would blend in.
One of the best repurposed (flipped) piece of furniture I ever saw👍
Wow, thank you
That is quite a transformation!! Beautiful!
It was a very cool Art Deco (as you said) dressing table. It would have had a nice (probably) large oval mirror attached to the back. LOL, my wife bought me a nice simple stained glass window back in the ‘70s. I refinished the frame and hung it in the front picture window. The kids in the Jr. High School across the street thought we were the coolest people on the block. Years later, my Dad made a large oak frame and attached the stained glass under the center open panel to make it a coffee table. For years I stored it because I couldn’t find legs that I liked. In the early 2000’s a local furniture store had a back room with things they couldn’t sell. In there I found a painted wooden coffee table with legs that match the legs you put on this piece, except shorter. I bought the table for $5, unbolted the legs and put them on my oak/stained glass coffee table-PERFECT!
I have never seen wallpaper used on furniture. This piece is stunning! I love the pattern of the paper, it really says Art Deco to me. Thanks for the great video. 💕
You are very welcome 🤗
Well done Jay, again! You make it look so easy. But you have mega tools to do every conceivable job! And everything is so neat and precisely done. I can’t get enough of restoration. You keep me quite happy in that respect. I have never seen legs that can peel off a plastic cover! The things they think of these days!!!!! 😊❤️🦘🇦🇺
Glad you like my videos 💛
What a great transformation, hope it sells well for you. 😀
I love your attention to detail! Those legs suited this piece perfectly. Nice job!
Lovely ideas (the wallpaper and the legs) and great outcome! Now I'm going to watch all your videos. Thanks for the upload!
Awesome 🤩 thank you
That is one class piece of furniture now. It's beautiful. Well done.
Thanks Sally🥰
The wallpaper was a brilliant idea, it worked very well. You have a good eye for detail, and matching seams & corners is fantastic. The added leggs worked well to. I'm not an expert, but I can recognize beauty, and you did a wonderful job turning it into a conversation piece.
Thank you so much 😊
That looks a lot like my grandmother’s vanity. Essentially it’s a place to put on your makeup, but she put some of her clothes in it too.
I would call it console. Whatever it is called, it is a very beautiful job! Bravo!
Thank you Viki
Love it. The wallpaper was a delightful surprise.
Thanks Cameron. I appreciate it
WOW! IMPRESSIVE! REALLY LIKE IT.. UNIQUE AND LOVELY!!
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful just beautiful... Great makeover love this ...
You are a true artist and inspiration. This piece is outstandingly beautiful!
Thank you 🙏
You did a beautiful job lining up the paper.
Took a while though 😂
Love the final product. Gorgeous!
😍 Beautiful and elegant! That wallpaper really made it pop!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the hairpin legs ❣
Beautiful job! I believe originally it was a “telephone table” where you would place your home phone and could sit while using the phone. The drawers would hold your telephone book and paper for writing down messages etc. Since home phones are practically extinct now you gave it a new life as a table. Well done.
Oh thank you!
I'd say it was a vanity. Telephone table I had was just one drawer and wider bench. Still pretty as repurposed piece.
No it's an old dressing table. My grandmother had one very similar. In those days the average female height was 5ft 2inches so the dressing table was quite short. The dip in the middle allowed a long view of the body that wasn't obscured by items on the table. Telephone tables only started to appear later when they because more common in houses after WWII.
Love this piece!
(tip: when I use pva glue, I wet a brush with water and use it to spread the glue)
Thus is the first time I don't like what you have done but everyone to there own.
That’s a very old video so no worries lol
What a brilliant idea and so well done.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you! 😊
That turned out awesome!
You do a great job...loved watching, thank you!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow..such a stunning transformation!!
Thank you for sharing..
Thank you for watching 😜
I had doubts when you first brought out the wallpaper, but the finished project looks so posh! With the added height from the new legs, this could make a nice buffet. The drawers offer lots of storage space for rarely used serving pieces, and the different heights of the top could separate the types of food for a small gathering.
The hairpin legs are a great touch.
Love the wallpaper!!
Pretty cool pattern right?
Another unique restoration of a classic vintage vanity. I'm from the U.S. where vintage pieces like you find don't exist on the side of the road. Flimsy Ikea furniture seems to be all the rage by the younger generation and quality wood craftsmanship is rare to find or impossible to afford. Thanks for bringing these pieces back to life. It's 2.2.2022 and a Renaissance is on its way back.
My pleasure and you are very right ;-)
Beautiful piece of work. Looks like art 🎨, conversation piece. Good job and thanks for sharing.
My pleasure ☺️
I was horrified at first when you pulled out those hair pin legs and dismantled the Art Deco vanity…and even more horrified when you pulled out that wallpaper but…it’s GORGEOUS!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ha ha ha sorry for the stress I put you through 😂
Look up the Iron on method for putting the paper on.
Another tip is to put a mix of 50/50 PVA glue and water and paint that on the surfaces you are going to paper and let it dry.
Then put straight PVA glue on and brush it back and forth until the glue becomes tacky and then add your paper.
You can use a credit card from the centre out to get the bubbles out.
Thanks 👍
Amazing 🤩 beautiful 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏆🥇
Thanks 🤗
That looked amazing in the end. I was not sure about the legs to start with but once I saw it in place realised how good it looked.
☺️ thanks
Beautiful work enjoy the video
I'm not a fan of wallpaper, but this looks so rich and elegant. Absolutely love your detailed attention to both the outside and inside of your projects. Well done sir! 👏🏼
Thanks so much! 😊 glad you liked it Lucy ;-)
This sort of reminds me of one of my favorite flippers, Kacha. You both have wonderful ideas. Also beautiful accents and great personalities. She loves gold and you brass. Both of uou are amazing!
Thank you 😊
Wow! What a statement piece! Fabulous work!
😜
Beautiful remake, great design… elegant
Thank you! Cheers!
Having used wallpaper myself on a few projects myself, I've found diluted PVA (about 60% water/40% PVA) to be ideal for it 👍
Great tip!
The end result was amazing!!
Thanks mate
This turned out better than I expected it would. The wallpaper was an inspired choice. It elevates the piece without adding a lot of time or expense. I'm not a fan of the hairpin legs, but they serve the purpose here. A good dumpster project for a quick flip.
I honestly questioned what your plan was with the piece when you were applying the wallpaper but the end result shows your skill and ability to see the end product way before it's finished! Well done, well worth the subscription! Bravo!
`thanks Mark and glad you'e part of the team ;-) More good stuff coming soon.
This would make for a nice bar
Didn’t think about that 😮 that’s a great idea 🤩
Love the legs! Definitely an entry table!
I used to work in a sign company, whenever anyone had a job working with vinyl, they would use a plastic scraper to get the bubbles on. You can even use a credit card to get the wallpaper flat. Just use the edge. I hope this helps in the future.
What a unique piece. I love it
Wow! Stunning! What a craftsman you are! 💕
Wow 😮 gorgeous
Very stunning! Excellent job!!
Absolutely beautiful, it does deserve a mirror and it would work great for an entryway like a console. Great video.
Wow!!! It's gorgeous. Beautiful job!!
Love how this turned out! Perfect statement piece that can be used in so many ways!
Holy moly! That’s insanely gorgeous!
Thanks Bonnie ;-)
Turned out amazing. Loved it, would definitely give it room in my house.
