In this video I restore a beautiful vintage dresser that was painted white. I strip down the layers of paint and expose solid mahogany wood. I also find a surprising way to preserve the stick figure drawing ;-)

How beautiful it didn't seem possible but of course you did it I love how you found a way to save the child's artwork , only you would think of such a nice move , also love how the kitty cats come by to visit and you stop to give them attention even though your busy , very nice of you

A lovely result as always. I'm very impressed with the stripper you use, it seems to work exceptionally well. I was glad you were able to replicate the artwork and add it to the back. It's always a treat to see the visiting cats, even the new shy one.

Your attention to detail and your willingness to sand every nook and cranny to bring the wood back to life earns you a standing ovation. I am sure that many people do not realize how tedious and time consuming the task of sanding becomes especially when you have to wear a mask for hours at a time. The results are stunning.

the way the original knobs were used as screws for the replacement hardware at the start is actually genius, I'm going to do that whenever I switch out knobs from now on

While you were working with this dresser I found myself admiring how well it was constructed and I could see that the wood is of an excellent grade. When you finally confirmed that it is mahogany I found myself nodding in agreement.

You make me laugh out loud when you say you took a break and went to have a cry lol. If I did that much sanding I’d cry too. From an absolute shambles to sheer delight! I’ll bet that little person who drew on it would be amazed at what you’ve done to her grubby old dresser. “ After sanding all day, I went home and cried for a little bit!” I love it! But, you know what, even Michelangelo cried a bit over the Sistine Chapel ceiling! And that took YEARS! Every great artist gets frustrated some time. And I adore your sweet cats. Nothing pleases more than the sound of a cat purring, or kids giggling.❤️🦘

As always, your work is amazing. Maybe the animal in the drawing was one from the imagination. Printing the copy on the back was a nice touch. I didn't see the mascot soldier in this episode.

Your tears were not wasted! She is gorgeous! She was so lucky to land in your shop. The paint seemed thick and sticky and I would not have had your patience. I would have taken a shortcut and ruined everything . You talent was wasted on the health industry. This is definitely what you were born to do! Enjoyed every second. Stay safe.

I love mahogany. I can't understand why anyone would want to paint over it. It makes me really happy to see it restored to it's natural glory. I love watching you work, you are so thorough and meticulous, and your workspace is always so tidy, plus you have beautiful tools. My favorite thing to do as a kid was be in the garage with my dad when he was woodworking. Efficient method of catching stripper debris. Nice art preservation, too. Overjoyed to see your respirator mask. Final result is stunning. Not sure about drawer pulls but if the dresser could talk, it would thank you for your precision, epic sanding and tasteful oil/stain application not only on the outside but also inside the drawers.
