Maybe it's just me, but, I think this is a much more interesting project than another body swap.
It's just you
@@jerrywilcox9890 no its not
absolutely!!!
coming soon Lamborghini v12 swaped Elanor..... I mean Shelby mustang
@@Markossimopoulos doubt it he doesn't have a spare v12 to use.
You should 3D scan the driver side quarter and flip it and 3D print a mold then make it out of carbon, it would probably be a lot cheaper to do it that way rather then to buy them new, same with the front fender.
I would look for a model of the car online first, would possibly save a ton of time.
Exactly what I was thinking when they started on it. That or find one in tact, with an owner willing to let them scan it and print from there.
Won’t work bro
or just ask duke dynamics
DUUU ETTT
This is supercar/luxury content I can get behind. So much better than just buying all the parts. Saving what you can and still doing things the B.I.F.B way is appreciated.
I know. You talk about the guy who has a lambo with broken roof?
If I remember correctly, you can replace those throttle bodies with ones from a Volvo V70.
Mat Armstrong also used Volvo throttle bodies with his Murcielago.
Correct!
But like weren't the plugs different or I don't remember correctly
@@kirbyamalattey6256exactly
SO SO SO SO SO glad you're keeping the V12 and restoring a legend. Honestly CANNOT tell you how happy I am Chris. BIFB FTW !!!👏
As a tesla owner, I agree!!!
I just spent 6 hrs troubleshooting my motorcycle. It was torn to pieces 25 years ago and covered in rat feces but I finally diagnosed the charging system and ignition. I know this is nothing close to you guys but I love watching the builds because it gives me courage for mine! Keep posting!!!
Sweet! What kind of bike?
I once changed my pads and disks and felt like a king 😂 great feeling
@@darrenswails 1971 xs1b (early xs650). It’s a pretty rare bike I got for really cheap. It was built as a desert sled in the 80s and torn apart in the 90s. Im bringing it back to its former glory and prepping for a desert ride across the country in January!
@@adam.677 one thing at a time! I’m still in college for engineering but I’ve done v8 swaps in several cars not meant for it, currently working on a subi vanagon swap, 2 vw beetles, and 2 motorcycles haha
@@steelavocado1 sounds like fun, my first bike was an '86 Honda rebel that i made a half hearted bobber with scalloped paint with hand laid stripe separating the colors ( amateur but not bad from 15 feet), drag bars and i added a 7in halogen bulb since the original was dangerous at best sometimes, i miss that slow little bike
I bet that square steel chassis is just remnants of Murcielagos family connection to father Diablo and grandpa Countach. After Murcielago Audi ditched the olden ways and square steel.
If the F1 pump/SMG pump is bad look into the manual conversion parts kit 😊
So happy you decided to fix this masterpiece of a car… in a few years you will congratulate yourself you did it. These are pieces of art so connected to their era.
Let me start by saying I wish you well on this project...you all are fun to watch when confronting new 'issues'. I might suggest that before you get too giddy about this car 'telling' you what it needs, go back and watch Tavarish's videos on the Fast and Furious Murcielago restoration...the electronic rat's nest behind the seats was frightening to me. Also, since Lambo fuel pump have been seemingly involved in a lot of fires, be cautious about transferring the pumps from the old fuel tank to a new one. I think there was a design issue with some OEM pumps...I'm not a total fan-boy of Tavarish but he dealt with this on his fire damaged Gallardo.
like this to make sure Chris @BisforBuild reads it!
If you want new throttle bodies they are actually the same as a Volvo on the pre LP640 Lamborghini Murcielago.
Volvo V70 MK2 2.4 Petrol cars use the same throttle bodies but you need to rewire the plugs I believe are different.
I was dreading an EV build and can't express how stoked I am for this build now. Also 3d printed engine mounts and steel frame chassis is perfect. Love the extra length in this video. I'm just insanely happy rn.
The Murci is my dream car. Watching Matt Anderson you can get a lot of parts through parts numbers that are on other cars so you don’t need to pay the Lamborghini tax. I think the most $$$ is going to come from the carbon fiber panels. I sure hope you guys look into a manual gated swap. Good luck guys!
You mean Mat Armstrong?
😂😂 Mat who !!
We’re happy to see this murci coming back to the roads 🎉
Chris....I am super stoked that you are restoring the Mercy.
..Matt Armstrong will be so proud of you
👍👍👍
3D print the body panels ,Bumpers then 3D scan the good side and mirror the parts, at least 4 perimeters ,4 top and bottom layers +100% infill on the TPU for the engine mounts
U need to convert it to manual !
I think the only difference in transmission is electornics and of course 3rd pedal
A custom Murcielago, could be very cool, with modded suspension, crazy body-kit, nice wheels and custom interior. I've seen some real nice renders and some amazing looking wide body-kits.
Also man check every part number on these i believe you can get the bosch TBs off a late model volvo. They can also be somewhat rebuilt. Check for audi PNs and VW PNs i know the lambo tax is steep so it pays to shop around and test parts on a bench before replacing. GL
Matt Armstrong went through this with his Lambo... re. Volvo Throttle bodies.
18:19 I know some people throw away the manual you get with a car, but problems like that are always why you RTFM, cause if you did then you'd actually know what the lights on the dash mean. and surely theres an FSM somewhere that has all of the OBD codes
the fact you're just rebuilding it instead of swapping the body or powertrain makes me so happy
it's my childhood dream car
Loved this episode! This reminded me of the old BIFB way, when you had 20K subscribers! Freestyling every build and figuring it out. Man, I love it
That's why I love this channel, you listen to your audience.... rescue that dream car from our childhood !!!
Reverse button is placed over there because you'll need to open the door to see where you're going in reverse. Might as well place it near the door handle.
Stoked to watch a BiFB project again. Last few haven't been for me so I skipped em but I'm hella interested in seeing this brought back to life.
Just make it a stick shift Murcey would be a fun project with the classic b is for build style Chris you guys rock
I love that when you say "See where we stand" I instantly thought "You're standing right there silly" and then the joke came right after and it made it that much funnier 😂
You guys are skilled enough to make your own body panels, custom wide body. You would save a fortune. Find lights off a mass produced car, ect. See how cheeply you can build it and still be a nice car.
You guys need to put this on a frame table and straighten the whole thing out.
I saw a comment saying this in a previous video, but i think it would be pretty cool to body swap an old rolls royce or bentely or some sort of old luxury car onto the Model 3.
I was thinking the same thing 👍
Factory Five GTM would be interesting...
You should look at Matt Armstrong he just finished his lambo. He found replacement throttle body’s. He would be able to help with a lot of your issues
Kudos to Ed for the brake pedal issue, common on many audi/vw cars too. As well as the clutch switch same PN
Really like the old school bisforbiuld feel of these episodes !
I already love this build. Rebuilding it the right way, maybe retro modding some stuff is the way to go
Yes, cars tell us what they want and need most of the time so long as we listen!
You are the car whisperer
Fantastic video guys! I enjoy watching videos where work is taking place and not just updates to work that was done and so much work was packed into this one!
Do a manual conversion! It will be so cool!
You can use hockey pucks for bumper spacers don't forget that that actually works really good
Amazing troubleshooting on this lambo. Keep it coming! 😊
Resorting a murci the BIFB way (like 3d printing those engine mounts, hella cool) is what I wanted to see. Opportunity here for some cool body kits to still put a spin on it but ultimately keeping the murci as a murci and putting it back on road.
Can’t wait to watch more of these!
I'm stoked that this is not getting Tesla swapped
Would love to see a crazy build on it though, some crazy widebody, manual conversion, 2wd conversion
I'm really enjoying the Lamborghini episodes. I'm looking forward to seeing the next chapter, greetings from Spain
I'm so stoked you are bringing this back to life and doing it you're own way Chris. I have watched Freddie and mats restorations and loved them. They are different to yours and for that reason yours will be just as cool. Your saving a v12 Lambo the b is for build way and everyone who supports you will love that
So happy that u decided to save the Murci... but please can u manual swap it and show us the process...?
Love the direction of the build. Prefer this over the body swap. It's classic BI4B.
Yes, yes and yes! Love it and am stoked to see this build reach the finish line!!
So glad your putting Lambo back together, Its such an iconic Car & you get the chance to bring it back to life & make it better than stock maybe..
So glad u are going to rebuild it can’t wait for this build series 🎉🎉🙏🏻😁😁
Awesome video, looking forward to this legendary car being restored
I love this build! This is the stuff that got me watching CZcams!
I love that you are rebuilding it!!!
So happy this is the direction you're taking the build
That was a ride! Thanks for bringing us along.
Very excited about this build. Nice work 3d printing and straightening out the power train. Cleaning the corroded throttle bodies, looking forward to the rest of the build and hope you guys dont run into anything major along the way.
I'm really happy this turned into a restoration. This is so much better
Thank you for not body swapping! ❤ Now you have me 100% hooked for this build! 😊
Love the detail on the fix!
I believe Mat Armstrong said that the throttle body was a Volvo product. I think they were slightly different so he bought some used ones. Might talk to him or Tavarish as they both rebuilt a Murci.
Great job as always guys! I just commented on Matt’s Off-road Recovery’s channel. They are looking for non “off road” CZcamsrs to go to their Offroad Games next year. I think you all would be great additions. Maybe you can tow out the Jumpicane with the overland rig! I’d love to see that thing in the dunes!
Cleaning the car will make us happier visually ❤
Never thought I'd comment about the advertising in a B is for Build video. But you need to put that Anchor, with the expanded battery, and some solar, into the camper. Real world consumer advice and solid entertainment in one.
Glad this is going well, thanks for your hard work
So happy your getting it back on the road 👌🏻
I'm pleased you're doing a restoration on this. It will be great when it's done.
Brilliant build .. it’s so good you guys are in house manufacturing parts instead of waiting months and spending thousands 👍👍 top work guys
I remember from your old BRZ the throttle got stuck wide open, and it was a piece of the airbox jammed in it 😊
loving the longer videos
Exciting stuff! These Lambo dudes were crazy, nice to see how it was put together...
Really interesting to see you trouble shoot such a complex, exotic car. Astonishing that Lamborghini used crude frame material. Very glad you are keeping the engine and running gear intact. Nice project.
She was angry about the body swap but now wants you to fix her, she will behave! Great work.
I am beyond excited for this build. Chris and Oscar are the GOAT
Please keep the red color after the restoration! Red looks so good
Best vid on the channel in ages. I want more!
I’m really into this build now !
This feels like some old school B is for Build content. Possibly in over their head and might not be able to afford the fix if it’s major. I love it. This is so relatable to all of us also just figuring things out by watching CZcams videos haha
Out of all Car CZcamsrs you The Best, how you resolves issues and all your teammates just awesome man. Nice video. Good luck.
Glad your restoring it
Enjoying this build and the long video content
Forget bringing it back to stock. Modify both fenders and quarters. ❤ make it a beast.
Wow Super impressive to have the ability to see the rebuild potential. I thought my son and I had a big project with our 2012 Ferrari 458 Spider. Well big for us! Look forward to seeing your progress. My son wants our next project to be a Lamborghini.....we will see a little nervous doing one
Engineer here. Square tubing is about 40% stronger against bending than round tube of similar wall thickness. Round tube is super strong under direct tension or compression. Meaning round tube if you can properly triangulate is stronger and lighter. If triangulation is more difficult then square tube is preferred to mitigate bending. Strength of materials my dude.
I don't know about other people who may be Lamborghini purists, but I think as long as you make this vehicle run Lamborghini powered, sound like a lambo, and perform like one, then I see no issue with 3d printing body panels, honestly even if hardly anything is oem about the vehicle as long as it runs and drives healthy it's an amazing build in my eyes. But truthfully it is your car and my openion does not matter, you should not just build a car for other's enjoyment but rather your own. I'm sure you know that already, I love this new series, will love to see the finished product even more.
Stoked!, much better to restore it. I would consider to manually convert it and look into a cool kind of body kit. There are some really nice ones available. Make it a little special. Like the build!!!
Gotta say this is the content I started watching BIFB. Body swaps are nice but this is the content I enjoyed.
i'm loving this build..
Chris I suggest you contact Matt Armstrong another CZcamsr in the UK he did a rebuild on a MURCIELAGO and might be able to give you some advice on cheaper parts to reduce the cost of the build.
Well done...you've made the right decision going v12. Now I'm excited 😁😁😁😁😁
Im so so glad you are saving it!! ❤❤
I’m excited for this!
Love what you’re doing so far on the lambo. Great work and fun episode.
27:26 That car sounds so epic ❤
So happy this prancing bull is getting restored, looking forward to more. Awesome video
I hope we get to see some custom carbon fiber molds on this project; it was really cool seeing how you did the bumper on the Mustang.
I’m glade you decide to fix it
Dude! You folks are amazing, spectacular, miracle workers! I have no doubt if It turns over you can make it do anything you wish it to. Never doubt your prowess! 😊 Good luck and may it be everything you wish it to be and more! Best of luck and may you have an excellent evening and rest of the weekend!😊
That's a 300,000 car with a clean title. GreaT find...there was only a couple hundred ever made!!! Smart move saving it😊
Love that you're restoring it.
Just heard you say Matt Armstrong! The throttle bodies were from a Volvo me thinks!
Glad you have seen Matt Armstrong’s video on his build, plenty of help right there

cool project like the Lotus build
This, world, is content! This recipe has shown to be a winner so good on ya B is for build. Build this Merci for the love of God. No drivetrain swaps or anything swapped. Build it and they WILL come!
