- The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup truck has consumer-friendly pricing, but its most affordable model is intended for work sites rather than everyday drivers. Although it shares its electric powertrain with the brash GMC Hummer EV, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV resembles a more classic take on the electric pickup truck.
Powered by dual electric motors that provide standard all-wheel drive and up to 754-hp, and the #Silverado #ev will be capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds and hauling up to 1440 pounds of payload. A large battery pack will provide up to 450 miles of range per charge and DC fast-charging tech can juice the battery with 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. General Motor's #Ultium battery technology, which can be scaled up to create a battery pack as large as 200-kWh. Fuel economy ratings of 67 MPGe city and 59 MPGe highway. We test drive the 4WT - 0-60 MPH is 5.4 seconds.

I love Tesla. I have owned 3 of them, but I have to admit, I would buy this instead of the Cyber truck. I feel like the silverado is better thought out for customers, and it's a beautiful truck.
And there’s a dealer network if you need any sort of service.
Over twice the towing range as well even with a 6500 lb trailer, silverado got 230 miles.
Do they have snow plow prep ?

Fine by me as I am a chevy Guy....Yes there are compromises with it being an EV but this is a Beautiful truck and with in the price range of a Basic yet versitle Truck. Are we slowly getting back to Reality ? hopefully

@@zemo2332 and a new diesel will cost you $15 - 20 thousand for a new motor and that is well before the million miles the battery will last! Plus the expensive oil changes, fuel additives, and high fuel cost!
All diesels got is range. They ride like sh*t, smell like sh*t and this will out pull a diesel all day every day.

I can't get over Ford and GM's worst-in-class 3 year/36000 mile standard and 5 year/60000 mile powertrain warranty. Tesla and Rivian are way longer.
I got it important question do this electric cars and trucks that don’t make noise, has something to tell us there is a cat under the car or truck ? They find cover under the cars to avoid rain I would get hurt if I run over them since this electric cars doesn’t make noise. They cannot tell when moving.

Heated seats on the WT?
How do I go about charging at home. I don’t want to buy one until I know I could do that. Does gm dealers walk you thru the process etc. who do I contact etc for charging at home.
Great question. Evs are over 90% charged at home. I own a chevy EV, and they tend to come with a complimentary slow charger you can plug into literally any outlet for level 1 slow charging. Chevy also offers a free home level 2 charger with installation though that will give you a full charge overnight.
You can plug it into a 120v outlet, or for faster charging use a 220v outlet like a dryer circuit. I have a Tesla and it's 8 times cheaper than the gas I pay for our little Ford Escape.
You didn't show the mid gate which is the best part of the truck!😮

Let's be honest, it will mostly be rich people buying brand new trucks. Meaning they will be using them to tow their boats to the local lake and back 99% of the time at most (most won't even tow anything, glorified grocery getters for soccer moms).
200+ miles of range with towing is more than enough for the vast majority of towing, and it charges quick enough that so long as your state has good EV infrastructure, you can even do longer range hauling. This is pretty much the ideal truck for the typical usage.
Started dying laughing when you likened Tesla's to dementors. Overall great looking truck would love to get my hands on a WT.

Where are you getting 52k as the WT Price? Car and Driver reports the price this year being $79k. At that price plus insurance and it will never make economic sense to buy one of these over a regular ICE powered vehicle.
I hope the Silverado EV does well. OEMs like GM and Ford are important for accelerating the transition. It has some great features like the mid-gate and four-wheel steer. However, the payload is mediocre at best. Put two grown men in the vehicle and you're looking at roughly 1000 pounds of payload. Experienced EVers know "100 miles in 10 minutes" sounds good but is rather meaningless. What is the stage of charge? What does the charging curve look like? How long does it take to charge from 20% to 80% at a DCFC? This vehicle has a 200kWh battery. You're getting great range but at the cost of lugging around a humongous battery. The Lightning, R1T and CT are all in the 125-135 kWh range, meaning the Silverado is not very efficient, just like the Hummer. "First service is free and there is a network of dealers". Hmmm. In the years I've had my Model Y and R1T there is no scheduled maintenance, and both have service centers. The real question...can GM build the Ultium based vehicles to scale? Only 461 Silverados were built in 2023. Lyric less than 9000, Blazer less than 500, Hummer less than 4000.
Tesla recommends the following maintenance items and intervals, as applicable to your vehicle, to ensure continued reliability and efficiency of your Model Y.
Brake fluid health check every 4 years (replace if necessary)**.
A/C desiccant bag replacement every 4 years.
Cabin air filter replacement every 2 years.
HEPA filter replacement every 3 years.
Clean and lubricate brake calipers every year or 12,500 miles (20,000 km) if in an area where roads are salted during winter.
Rotate tires every 6,250 miles (10,000 km) or if tread depth difference is 2/32 in (1.5 mm) or greater, whichever comes first.
Wait till they recall it due to software issues, like the crappy blazer.
The center screen looks like from 2012.
Exterbally this looks way better than CyberFridge, but interior design is cheap. Look at that screen bezel, makes CyberScreen look awesome

I find it very irritating they call it a "work truck " when they have eliminated so much bed. I recently bought a Silverado with 4 doors and plenty of room for a whole HVAC system to be hauled to a job.
The 100 mile range is speculative. Actually range will really be a 60-70 range.

Fleet actual fleet customer deliveries took place in October 2023 and full production fleet delivery started in Jan 2024, retail RST production started in Mid- Jan 2024.
Can't hold a candle to the Tesla Cybertruck as GM still has yet to roll out any charging infrastructure...and yes the Cybertruck is now fully released. Come this Fall 2024 GM as battery electric vehicle prices continue to plunge especially for Tesla all except Ford and Rivian will be looking at an existential crisis. Jeep might hang on thanks to hybrid drive systems and unique branding. Toyota appears to be in huge trouble right now actually as do all Chinese Brands as does Mercedes-Benz. Long $hmc Honda Motor Corporation strong buy. Long Republic Services strong buy. Long waste management strong buy.

Most GMs should get access to Tesla chargers very soon. Otherwise, it'll just be an around-town kind of truck.

Tow 10,000 lbs. dont do any good with a payload of only 1300lbs. Gee, my trailer has a tongue weight of 1000lbs. That leaves me 300 lbs of cargo for my truck. Its a joke
Cybertruck doesn't have a network of stealerships to rip you off. Tesla does have a nationwide network of service centers and mobile service vans to help you out.
That is true the Tesla gripe center is always open to correct the poorly executed assembly that people continue to take delivery on. And do not forget Elon is really good over promising and under delivery on his entire product line.

I dont know what you are complaining about, I've been looking for a truck for about 2 years now, I can't find anything less than $50K that I would even look at. Not only that, the cost of Gas has me running scared. Electricty is much much cheaper to run vehicles. EVs are so much the way to go.
They cant sell the over priced ice trucks. Now lets bring out an even more over priced ev no one wants. What the hell is wrong with gm

The Silverado EV has 450 miles of range. That's not terrible. It's more than my fuel vehicle. Drive 400 miles. Take an hour break to fast charge it.
@@trr5291 I have friends who have the Ford Lightning and we’re in Southern California and when they use the AC or heater the battery life decreases and they’ve run into issues at the charging stations. Another friend has the Hummer EV/Suv and it’s cool, we went to the mountains for the first big snow and it had issues with the cold. I’m glad I drove separately with my gas powered 2023 Chevy Tahoe Z71 or the trip would’ve been worse. The Hummer had to be towed to the dealership which was several hundred miles away. That at in of December and they still can’t figure why it’s working and they believe it’s the battery pack. It has range of 300 miles, however halfway during the road trip it had to get recharged because of the heater was draining the battery. So there’s no true advantage to an EV. China is getting rich.

My 2011 4.8L crew cab only has 330 miles of range with a full tank. 150 towing my car trailer with 7500lbs of load.
