She won for R&B that night and previously she was booed at the Soul Train awards because they thought she was not black enough. Whitney went through the ringer by many but through it all she remains one of the top selling artists and she is the most awarded female singer of all time. Also she is the only black artist to have three diamond albums. Though there are many black artists that deserve diamond status for their work.
That was a wonderful performance! I saw Whitney in concert live, and she was good in concert too, but we were not close to the stage to see fine details. Luckily the sound was on point!🏆😎🍷

She destroyed this song while sitting background singers were on point. This version should've been put on the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack. One of her best live performances my opinion. You could feel her pain while she sung.
