Erebus dies like a bitch killed in the same way he preferred to kill others by someone infinitely better then him in his own game

Let's all be honest. If Erebus is ever murdered forever and not wanked back to life by some form of Chaos god/s it would make the whole setting Noble Bright for the day.
His death would definitely mark the beginning of the end of 40k unless someone major is exchanged for him. Erebus being dead makes the entire galaxy 10000x better

@widdershins5383 My favorite part of the mental image is that, not only would his own legion and primarch party at his demise, there is literally 0 beings in real and warp space would would be sad or upset he's gone. Every single being in 40k either hates, or doesn't know Erebus. No one who knows him is even ambivalent about him. They all just hate him.
Erebus hasnt been awful for awhile. GW realized everybody hated Erebus like 6-7 years ago and made him the whipping boy of Lorgar and the Word Bearers. Last few times we saw him he was getting sent on impossible missions and then getting made fun of for surviving.

Lorgar trying and failing to "accidentally" get Erebus killed is my favorite horus heresy running gag. Sending him with the rearguard army to Calth, attaching him to Horus during the events of Signus Prime knowing the latters volitility, letting him go to the siege of terra despite the word bearers being out of the war. Its looney tunes level at this point.
Erebus and Kor Phaeron, the most renowned pair of kiddie fiddlers on Colchis, it's also why Kor Phaeron had that caravan thing and had to hide out in the desert trying to fiddle Lorgar...
At least Erebus had his face peeled off once, and got messed up by Kharn for being a dick to Argel Tal.
Being a dick was putting it too lightly. He KILLED Argel Tal since he knew he'd turn Kharn away from the Heresy.
If I remember correctly, before chaos even got involved, when he heard of the emperor his first thought was "Wow, it would be fun to totally destroy that man."
He liked to pull apart scorpions, removing their limbs before he killed them, he literally saw the emperor as nothing but the biggest scorpion to take apart.
Chaos has essentially never had to lie or manipulate him, he's fully aware that chaos will burn the universe and kill everyone in it, and it brings him joy to think about that.
Erebus. The Astartes whose personal heraldry is just the trollface picture.
Most chilling thing about him was how he was completely unphased in the presence of the Emperor when the Emperor first visited his world. Forgot which book it was from, but I'd only expect a chaos God to be so unaffected by the Emperor so maybe they'll retcon it
The guy was corrupted to the core and already worshipped Chaos. The most evil man in the galaxy shouldn't be trying to suck off his most hated rival of his masters

I like Erebus. He was an asshole when he was born, he was an asshole when he took the name Erebus, he was an asshole after ascending to Astartes, he was an asshole when he kinda kick started the Heresy, he remained asshole in the Eye of Terror. I call that consistency.
He never changed, it was more of a Lorgar's and Emperors fault of not seeing the red flags, like the dude grinning from ear to ear while having a name that is literal God of Darkness.

I just love how he is who he is. Usually we see power corrupting people, but in Erebus we see man who is so corrupted to begin with that even chaos is like ”Yeeah, that guy is a lost case”.
It’s also fitting how he is an OG Chaos worshipper even before becoming Astartes and his gods tolerates him much like his Primarch, worshipped his father who just tolerated it to the extent (raze of Monarchia) 😅

My only hope is that upon the glorious bird boy batman's return, he effortlessly eviscerates Erebus down past his very soul. All while having a conversation with someone else and not even breaking cadence. Erebus needs to be ended, but doesnt deserve an ending thats any more than an afterthought.

If I remember correctly, in the end of the Word Bearers Omnibus, Erebus popped up and casually tells Marduk that the whole ordeal was a game of lol's against Kor Phaeron. Dude blew up a ship with 5,000 Word Bearers in it for a side game of murder mystery, lol.

You have to have a patron that likes you. None of the Chaos Gods like Erebus. He is both literally and figuratively nothing more than a tool. The only one who might fuck with him is Malal, which is not a canon entity, or the Dark King who just wants a meat suit.
I really liked the deep dive Weshammer did on this a few months back.

Would really like Erebus to have Tzeentch never let him die but always humiliated in his adventures but still deluded that he is Chaos' favorite son.
Also a cherry on top if he kills named characters in stories.
The funniest thing to me about the warrior lodges being a good thing that got corrupted is that it's what Arch Warhammer called his second channel where he talked about immigrants and said the N word under the guise of free speech and stuff before he wiped the channel.

My favourite headcannon is that Erebus gets brainworms, turns into a senile wreck that the chaos forces abandon as hes trash. He then wanders onto a tyranid planet. Then gets nommed by a tyranid. That way he gets no great victory or defeat. Just eaten with no one to care or feel any loss for his passing

Serious Question: Is there anything in the actual novels about child molestation with regard to the Word Bearers? I can't tell if this is just Majorkill's humor or if he is actually referencing novels. For example: In another of Majorkill's videos he said that when the Ultramarines realized that the Word Bearer's had turned traitor during the Horus Heresy, Guilliman broadcasted over the vox that Lorgar was a kiddy fiddler.
It's just a joke, using the clear similiarities between Word bearers and priests. In general, SM don't have sexual desire iirc, except for EC probably

and I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE Erebus.

The one good thing about Erebus killing Erda was that he made her see that everything about the Primarchs was her fault. Added that she was literally a Space Karen, then this is one thing Erebus did good. ONE only.
There is one scene I'd love to see made cannon: Erebus, unable to escape, left in Kharn's slaughter range. After the obvious murderizing, Kharn locks his soul into his own skull 😂

I never understood why nobody just straight up merc'd erebus. Like, everybody knows he's a shit heel. And they'll pull some shit to fuck him up on occasion. Like when lorgar tells kharn that he killed argel tal, directly leading to the raping of erebus. But lorgar could've just straight up said "OK, I've had enough of your shit." And broke him in half like a twig.

I’d love to see Erebus finally done in by someone meaningful like Kharn. Like he finds Erebus somehow and even through 10k years of Khornite corruption and being driven mad by the nails: he manages to scream Erebus’ name and say “I still remember”. Then just proceeds to just beat the piss out of him with that same coldness he had in that honour duel. It’s not the nails, it’s not Khorne, it’s just showing Erebus that he’s weak and making it final.

I'm fairly new to 40k (reader only) and I love the word bearers, As shit as they are. The idea of an entire world falling to chaos because of some ardent speeches is crazy. Plus the way they describe the Dark Apostle, Arcane Scripture all over his body even the whites of his eyes.*chefs kiss*

It's not long after I started reading about him through the Horus Heresy series that I swore I would never play Wordbearers again.
....I like Erebus...and Kor Phaeron... they are such villains that I genuinely enjoy reading what they are up to. Plus, they kind of masterminded a large section of the setting.

Erda is possibly the next-most-hated character depending on how strongly you feel about her ridiculous and nonsensical lore, but even she comes off as awesome when going up directly against Erebus, spitting in his face before dying.
Theory idea: What if Russ is corrupted by Slannesh in the warp and comes back as a heavy drinking, leg humping demon primarch. We could then have the Ho-Russ Heresy.
I would love to see kharn or even somehow abbadon get his hands on erebus since erebus indirectly broke abbadons promise to gavriel lokhan

i think Erbus fate is fitting one. he saw him self as the master but nothing more than a tool for the gods. once he outlived his uslefulessness and did what they wanted. he was casted aside. he wanted the spot light but now left in the dark
