  • This is a follow up update to my previous video talking about adding an amplifier to my mask. As well as install of a dual fan system for the visor. The update of the amplifier system includes remote in the volume toggle to the side of my face where it’s easily accessible while wearing the mask. The fans are also on a switch next to the amplifier toggle.
    If you are interested in a similar set up, I recommend looking at two of my previous videos about building the fan system. I have three iterations of Designs as I gradually improved it. And also look at the amplifier system video for costume, masks and helmets. Both of those previous videos have links to the items I bought and used to build my fan and amp systems.
    The concept is the same for any costume helmets, regardless of type.

    Awesome video tutorial. I am about to embark on a similar quest, but add fans and amp to a eva foam helmet. what size wires are you using?

      Sorry for the delay - CZcams sometimes leaves comments out of my notifications list, no idea why - wonky…
      Anyway, 26awg is my primary go to for short run audio and power.
      This is a link to some of the wires I’ve bought; I like that if you’ve soldered header pins to your board (voltage booster, mic/preamp, etc) then you can easily add and remove these wires given their built-in connectors; it’s opposite end has tinned wires for twisting into other lines or soldering to something:

    have you tried putting some foam over the mic, to help knock down the feed back?

      Great point. Not yet. I realized also recently when doing my Star Lord mask mods that the mic pics up vibrations from any thing it touches as well - thus why mounting the mic firmly to the mask surface yields lots of feedback. I’ll likely add foam both to the back and the front of my mic to see hire well it improves it. Thanks for the note to think about trying foam on the front too.
      Cheers.

    also would you consider commissions? on doing these helmets?

      It’s not something I’m doing right now, perhaps in the future- tbd.
      In the interim, know that in lieu of building your own amp system, I recommend just buying a complete personal amp and gutting its parts. Less work and more features. I did a video on that as well - the Moukey amp has a real low profile circuit board and seems to give less feedback than this build.

    Does the mic
    pick up the fan noise?

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  Před rokem

      No the mic does not pick up fan noise. Perhaps because it's a directional mic. Plus these fans are reasonably quiet.
