That is a DAMN shame!! I watched this whole series and saw how much you busted your butt to help these guys out (you are amazing, BTW!!). I figured it WOULD work, they would say hallelujah, and keep using it for a few more years... but no, the thing goes off to scrap!! I hope you got paid handsomely for the increadibly well done job!! Much respect!!

Good video. You are 100% correct about all the gov programs driving costs up for the rest of us.

God I love your videos, I think you should leave the steering pipes as they are and watch their reaction when they take their first drive.!!!
Keep them coming and greetings from the UK🚜🇬🇧

Glad to see it move and enjoyed seeing the inside guts of the IVT. I thought it was a lot more complicated than it turned out being. The wonders of computer controls talking to each other to make it work where you don't feel the clutch packs shift!

That was quite a job to take on by yourself. It’s almost a shame you don’t have some young guys willing to learn your trade under you.

Keep doin' what you're doin'. Your "mechanic's eye view" is the way to go. It also gives you an out when someone accuses you of talking to yourself.

I still think it would be better to get a couple more years out of it before they knocked it over the head. Im glad it moved I will try one now that I’ve seen inside one. Thanks for the great videos.

I seen about 8 of those John Deere tractors here in southern California at the scrap yard that Millionaire farmers traded in for new tractors under the program you spoke about . In the mean time hundreds of small farmers who would be better off using the tractors that were traded in and then give the state their old polluting tractors but no way would they approve that .

You should’ve kept the steering lines like that I would make driving very exciting!

I had no idea California had such programs. What a cluster fuck that state has become. Really pisses me off when other states start either adopting or being forced to use the same programs.

Would make a good tractor for someone running an old 30 series JD. I like the steering. See if your help drank too much much the night before.

Well, I made it 96 to 3. Probably, the owner,John Deere Corp, and the local dealer gave you the 3 thumbs down. I hate seeing usable stuff destroyed. No wonder Ca is broke. Not a mechanic. Just a retired farmer. But I always enjoy your vids.

Wow i learned a lot from this video. Never buy a John Deere with IVT. I wonder which tractor you think is the most dependable?

Should have just welded a pipe between crank and rear pinion shaft and kept the gearbox for yourself.

The main problem with this tractor was the transmission then - runs good sounds like - he brought this all the way from Southern California for you to fix - how far is that

Similar to this...makes me literally sick. At the end when the crane is just tossing it around, it's almost like torture. I hope this NEVER comes to TX (edit: apparently it has and its called TERP). Video below is a JD 4430 being destroyed, running it without fluids.

this series started with a poor farmer complaining he's only going to get $10,000 for this tractor and he's taking a huge gamble on a patch instead of a real repair. after you agree to patch it suddenly he wants you to hurry so he can get $40,000from the state because its a big polluter.
I'm not sure where the blame lies.
