- The chickens are not happy! We get to work revamping an old shed into a new chicken house for the flock. We seal off the cracks, install windows and lay new flooring in this first construction phase, leaving plenty more to do to make this shed the chicken's new home.

Man, that chicken house is one of the best I have ever seen. All they need is a couple of recliners and a TV.
I remember my gram's hen house. She had a few of the nesting boxes with a little curtain covering the front of it. She said it helped with hens who were a little more' fussy' . I am so looking forward to having chickens again. I love them. I can not wait to see the next video. The most important lesson I've learned from you both is that if something doesn't work for you (like the insulated space in the shed that the former owner had planned as a place for a generator), you re-evaluate, plan something else that *does* suit your needs, and execute that plan. I'm in awe!

Might I suggest a drip edge for the shed roof. The water is really getting to your rafter tails, especially on the lower side.

Nice job on the chicken house. Be sure to put some flashing, or flashing tape on the ends of the rafter tails to prevent them from rotting over time. 🤗
I have an older version of that Porter Cable compressor. I got it around 25 yrs ago, came with two finish nailers and a stapler. I bought a 16 penny nail gun that works on it, but it's not really big enough to run that nailer all day. Fine for what I do, and have used them for almost 3 decades. Pretty good for a lower end product. When I was building, I had all Milwaukkee etc. But if you're not pounding it all day the cheaper stuff works fine. We flipped 4 houses while trying to get a retirement house paid for, and boom, we're now into our 10th year of retirement. Thanks, Porter Cable.
Chickens are such funny creatures. I loved how at the end in their nesting boxes cackling at each other. Can you imagine what they're saying? "Well Margaret my floor has 2" of shavings" "So what Myrtle my box has a much better view of the window!" The rooster is like " girls, stop acting like humans and just get along."
Great job on the chicken house. Chickens need space , just like people need space. The girls love the nesting boxes. Good call for the blockers, keeping out wild birds, weasels, squirrels, rats, (yes rats can climb) feral cats and a host of other trouble makers. Thanx for sharing.😃😃
