Spear Fishing Northern Pike | Third Time's a Charm

- čas přidán 2. 02. 2023
- It's our first time spear fishing for Northern Pike, and like many things in life, it takes multiple attempts to succeed. Even after several years of targeting pike, they are still a favorite of ours to catch and eat. We celebrate with fresh chowder in a sourdough bowl back at the cabin.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

You two continue to come up with the most creative videos. Never disappointing, never boring, always informative and the editing is superb!!! I always appreciate the time you take to explain things. It's never rushed and and you manage to throw in humor. Don't change a thing and continue to be the most authentic couple there is on CZcams!!! Thanks again both of you!!!!
I totally agree with you and couldn't have said it better!
Our pleasure!
Totally agree.. I look forward to these videos.. normally will watch them a couple times too.

Hope they know how blessed they are to have each other!!
Eric, you can't be Triton. You're already Eric, and you have your Arielle!

Congrats on getting the fish with a spear. Pretty awesome.
That chowder looks so amazing. Job well done guys.
Bo remains completely unimpressed with the sweater, dog sled, heater, etc. The look on his little face! 😂💙🤗
Beau and Bandit go fishing! Awesome catch, guys! Love the pink and blue winter skies! 👍🇨🇦😎❄🐾🐾🐟
I love the adventure that y’all are on. Really enjoy all the adventures y’all do. Never seen spear fishing before. That was cool to watch.

Another successful fishing trip, big pike👏🐟I'm always impressed with your drive and the fact that you won't give up trying! I learn something new every episode and look forward to the next time. I really enjoyed the intro on this one.
When the intro showed Eric exclaiming, I GOT ONE! Then it didn't happen on first try... I was more hooked than the pike was! Luv yer videos guys 👍
Nothing better than fresh Alaskan fish
I love it when one of two get crazy excited! Glad the pups are doing well. Great video. Thank you! Prayers!
I never tire seeing your fishing adventures. Glad you caught some fish. The pike you speared was fun to watch. Happy chickens too. ❤ Thank you!!
Like the fact that even if things don’t go your way you still take us along. Also love the way you treat your fur babies.
Eric and Aerial the little mermaid and her prince ! Now a king Triton spear. You both amaze me at how you live do remotely but have such a wonderful relationship . It’s easy to see the love. ❤
Must say, after professionally cleaning & filleting fish for a living, Erik is definitely becoming skilled at fish filleting. Excellent!
You guys are amazing. I just love watching you catch wild game and then show the cooking process and eating it. Good job!
Congratulations to your first speared pike Eric, first of many I assure you. It is much like hunting, patience, perseverance, stealth, and skill come into play. Love ya'll ❤️, always look forward to seeing more

Your persistence and love of the outdoors in the frozen north is awe inspiring. Always learn from your clips about
new techniques and gear used on your adventures ! 👍👍👍✌✌✌
These two are smart cookies. Props
Cut a 1/3 to 1/2 of the soup and add cream, that might help. Looked yummy.
I am sure you two are itching for Spring! Take care!

I just have to say this again. I wish my old dad was alive to watch your videos. His favorite fish was pike. I think because they were tricky to catch, he needed to get into a mind game with them and in the end, they cooked up delicious. He would have LOVED your channel. As do I. Thanks always for amazing content. And for always reminding me of my dad. ❤️
When you said your dad needed to get in a mind game with the pikes, I pictured Bryan Cranston sneaking around a lake in the dark, quietly whispering "Heeeeeere, fishy, fishy.... where aaaaaaarrrre you, Mister Fish?" while dressed as Rambo. And then dropping some dynamite in the hole in the ice and running away, as a giant pike is blasted into the air and the ice cracks.
Happiness is a bowl full of fish :)
its called fishing not catching for a reason!! as long as your having fun is the best part!! the chowder looked great!!! thanks for taking us along!!!
Cool! I’m in Michigan and I’m proud of our Great Lakes! I’m glad it’s been of use to you guys 🥰
Other than Lake Michigan, the Great Lakes are 'Shared by Canada and You' just to let you know.
@@frederickmoller ABSOLUTLY! Of course lol.
Michigan here also,we used to catch Herring in the Saint Mary's River. Pickled and smoked em.

Loved the video… and all the new things you learned! Project based learning is the best kind… always building on prior knowledge… The old teacher in me is beaming with excitement… because then you share what you’ve learned with others… and the spiral continues to grow! Keep on climbing, Arielle & Eric. Thanks for taking us with you!
The opening picture of Eric with that Trident Spear reminded me immediately of "Nik Nack" in James Bond the Man with the Golden Gun. 😀
Great video guy's.
Thank you
Your enthusiasm is so authentic! I am happy you are still loving the journey and adventures.
The road to 1 million is impressive. You guys have grown so much since I first discovered your videos. Keep up the amazing content. Truly is a breath of fresh air on youtube
Yes yes, the very freshest of air.
You guys have so much fun especially your fishing adventures.
SUPER !!!
I grew up in Wayzata, Minnesota.
My very first fish was a big mouth bass, but right after that, I caught a 27" Northern Pike. I couldn't believe my luck as I was only 6 years old.
We only lived 3 miles from Lake Minnetonka, which was perfect for ice fishing. My Dad couldn't believe it either because my line was only set up for crappie and bluegills. BTW, your spear isn't a TRIDENT. Three prongs make a Trident, but your spear is much better for bringing in almost anything in the water. Whatever you paid for it was probably worth the money. I'm 63 now and no longer live up north. I have to admit that I miss Minnesota and Michigan very much. I've never been to Alaska, but it looks like a beautiful place to live. The two of you remind me so much of my young days growing up in Minnesota.
Please keep doing everything just the way you are. The memories you're making are the greatest treasure you could ever hope to have. God bless you both.
One of my favorite episodes so far. Thanks for posting!
Awe, I seriously love you guys. I tasted every bit of that chowder with you, my absolute favourite food. Thanks for an amazing video and well done Eric on your 1st speared Pike. ❤

LOL Love the Mosquito Line!! So wonderful and awesome!
Here, across the pond in the UK I woke up this morning early and a bit fed up because of health reasons that involve my heart and lungs. Got up, gave up trying to sleep and switched on my Mac. My mood lifted as I saw a new content from you. Suddenly I was transported into your world and what a difference it made to my mood! Fun, hardworking. authentic and positive couple who may not know what a difference your content can make to someones day. Thank you! 😘
This could be a discovery channel show
That looked like a whole lot of fun! Catching the pike and eating it! Happy days! 😊
Ice fishing!!! Yay the pups came!!
Very, tasty chowder in a bread bowl!On a cold winter, Alaska day! The chickens got it going on!

I’m getting nervous that you guys will fall through that big hole!!!
Yeahhhhhh
Awesome content very epic indeed 👍👍👍😊
Fantastic - love your fishing videos!!!
My favourite soup in the world is Cullen Skink, which is a Scottish creamy fish chowder-type soup, similar to what you made. Give it a shot if you're wanting fish soup again soon!
Any particular recipe you use?
these are my kind of comfort videos instead of watching tiktok all day long
Northern Pike typically spawn in April, May or June depending on where you are & when you get "Spring", or... the timing of ice melt & water temp changes. For us in Red Lake, Ontario, its typically around May/June where you can find giant pike in the shallows, smaller creeks or even water run-off areas snow melt.
They will begin to produce eggs early winter but will not be fully mature, ready to be laid in a creek/river/shallows until the Spring!
Your videos never disappoint!
The nature, the teamwork, everything is perfect!
Do you guys plan on building the cabin on your second property?
Greetings from Germany.
That was Awesome spiring that fish!!💃🏻🙏🏽🕊💪🏽🎣
This. Is. Super baddasssssss!
Save your egg shells, crush them, then drop them in the hole, and light the bottom
@@AKDissident the egg shell will light the bottom
How interesting to light the bottom
Is the idea that the dark fish will be easier to see against the white bottom?
Yes King Triton to go with Ariel and Eric😊
And add lemon drop candies……
YUM!
Eric, spearing that fish was totally badass!!
Thanks guys,
For sharing. Great video, and great fishing.
Take care, all the best, and God bless.

Congratulations guys so excited for you.
King Triton makes perfect sense!!! Prince Eric and princess Ariel!!
I've been waiting so long for them to make a little mermaid reference! Now I just want to know if those are their real names and if they're fans of the movie!
I bet they are their names!! Let's see if they answer!! 😁
First time I didn't get a notification for a video. I'm glad I found it the next day.
