    • @ShOoTeR7386
      @ShOoTeR7386 Před 2 lety

      Anglers here will be able to keep 10 northern pike, but not more than two pike longer than 26 inches, and all from 22 to 26 inches must be released. Northern pike taken by spearing follow the same rules except one pike may be between 22 and 26 inches and one longer than 26 inches. This is in Wisconsin. We only spear sturgeon. I'd rather use tip ups or a jig. Besides the thrill catching a massive pike is so much more satisfying other than this. But sturgeon again is a wicked good time.

    Just curious, why don't you weld a couple bent nails on the handle of the spear10-12" above the tines so that the spear is already in the water when a fish shows up? I've been a pike spearer my whole life, you can get quick throws in a lot easier and you spook less fish. No big deal either way, just an observation. Also, red and white hand carved decoys about a foot long is the Go-To, but we also have luck with perch, silver minnow, and in one lake Chartreuse is king

      Okay first off, regardless of how you fish there are limits to how many you can get so this doesn’t hurt the pike population what so ever. If there are a rise or dip in the pike population the DNR record it and adjust the fishing limits next year to preserve the population. Spear fishing is very popular in Minnesota and very fun. If you even bothered to do your research you would know this but I guess ignorance is bliss.

    I dont know man, looks like a bit not cool. Spearing those small pikes. What if you miss it and disable him. Take a propper fishing rod, stop being silly. If you fish, you fish, if you play go to play with sand castles.
