Tosca's abandoned Fox Redux avatar looks a lot like the wolf, and they're both canids so I understand, but being TOLD I'm using a pupper avatar or that I'm "clearly a wolf" like I wouldn't know what the hell avatar I'm in is definitely irritating.

This solely applies to those who’ll suddenly switch avatars with terrible optimization and/or use laggy particles effects. I’ve realized how aggressive my comment is and apologize if I had made anyone uncomfortable or upset by it. I admit I was letting my emotions get to me, but I will not change it since I have had this struggle many times and wish to vent my frustration.)

I'm a photographer and DJ at a regular event in VRC and I intentionally murdered my avatar because I hide it all the time anyways so I'm not blocking people's view while doing my thing. My Avatar is 2 (!) Megabytes. I've seen elaborate dancer avatars with less than 40. It can be done. It should at least be kept below 80-100 with effects and everything, and for fucks sake, everyone should have a version of their avatar for full worlds which does not have functioning reproductive parts attached. Those are the main cause of frame drops because of how they interact. Horny bastards. Also lights and particles in general. VRChat can be optimized and fun if people aren't lazy or uninformed.

The issue with poly counts has gotten so bad that I've found that using any pre-made asset is a waste of time because they are so poorly optimised. The sheer number of polygons on some assets is crazy, like the 40k polygon bunny tail one I saw a while ago.

Biggest pet peeves for me? Having the best time on vrc and having a blast until one person comes in and just... Ruins it all. Either it's rude people coming in and trying to take over like they own the world or just putting on the music on (in game or through the microphone) to mute others out. There's time that some people want music in an instance, just be respectful if you want others to enjoy your music or they'll mute you, or if you want people to respect you, respect back. Second one for me personally is anyone coming in and while others are trying to relax or having an important conversation that they need to hear, they'll come in and start screaming or have an annoying sound that makes your ears bleed. I already have a hearing problem, I don't need it to get worse

My long time friend once invited his now Exboyfriend to an online event with my and my family since we all like to game and I started inviting him because I like him. What does his ex do as sooon as he enters? He speaks about us to my friend in another language. We could tell because he would say our names and we would get a word or two. And as much as I love my friend, I will always hate how he went on ex side just because, "he is shy", being shy does not excuse anything dude! (with-in reason)
The high-end model one especially for me. My poor old GPU-Less laptop can barely get more than 20 fps ALONE, and then suddenly just some dude with more polygons than the entirety of Mario 64 joins and it just tanks to hell (which I'd like to also mention a good number of times these people get really mad at me about it and say it's MY fault for not having the performance power to handle their over-limit avatar...)

The talking while people watching a video is not all too bad for me, I just go and lower their volume and be done with it, But the one that always annoys me that wasnt mentioned here is people who constantly just walk through others. Like I know its sometimes easy to do accidently in a crowded area, but its especially bad when I talk to someone and they see someone behind me, so they just say "hold on a sec, hold that thought", run *straight through me* and go talk to the other guy. At that point I just dont care and find someone else to talk to. I have a friend who does that constantly and its not fun

I feel the language one, I had like a small group of people who ALL were germans except for me and they sometimes started speaking german out of the blue. I didn't mind it at first but sometimes it was getting a bit much.
Hosted meets or crowded worlds where the world is too small for a large group of people. Even with earmuff mode on, I can't hear what folks are saying to me because of so many people talking at the same time and I can't find a quiet(er) spot to pull my conversations to.
My personal peev is people not taking turns to play music at a mirror and playing music over soneone else. If im already playing music,just ask and i'll happely take turns,dont just start playing it over the top of someone! And as for my friends, ik they hate it when people stand infront of the mirror (mainly people new to vrc that dont know about mirror dwelling/music mirror dwelling) for me i just hide their avi and since im short it wont bother me, buuttt my friends get much more annoied by it.
I agree with the eating. Any kind of eating and drinking should be done with the microphone muted. People with hyperacusis and misophonia are more common than people think, which is actually traumatic to some of them because of how severely debilitating it is. In general it's just disrespectful not to mute. My ex was so guilty of this and he got mad when someone said something, like full-on BPD rage levels of mad. Some people... One of my pet peeves is constant deliberate edginess to try get attention away from something really cool happening because they want that attention, and they'll straight up sabotage it to get it, then they act like a victim when they're told off.
honestly the optimization one gets me so bad as both a questie and an avatar creator. I make avatars with quest performance in mind. What's really cool is that there's a community of people who have grown really fond of the look of low poly avatars, so i've been making a whole bunch of them (i try to keep them medium rank or better on quest) and people love them!
My biggest pet peeve is someone's microphone getting all static or anything of a loud screeching noise and they dont fix it, i HATE it cause i got sensitive hearing

Switch to other language.... Tja jag gör det now and then but it is due to either we talk to eachother only so we use our language or I do it för att djävlas. Then I got it back from my friend.... When hearing German or netherlandic suddenly is "ok what did they say now?" or when we nordic meets up and Norwegean, Swedish and Dansish speak with eachother in our language and a couple of Finnish comes and the rest of us go "Huh?".

My pet peeve is how much people rp disorders like dissociative ones - it's harmful to people with those disorders, there's a crossover with the DDLG people who inflict their fetish on others without consent. I myself am a trans-female, and I've been shocked by the number of people I've known, who were part of my friends, that suddenly *became trans* as well, when they saw the amount of people around me or the attention and my ability to easily make friends. They believe that being that is how to get all that. They found out, it's not. It's who you are, and how you treat and interact with others. These people have since gotten enraged and left, even blaming me for their failure, but that's whatever. Bottom line.. people need to stop trying to fake things that they know nothing about, or just to grab attention and be trendy.

-people joining a world, inviting 20 people there without asking if it was ok, then hijacking the instance as if it was there's to do something else -people stealing a conversation I was invested in from me -requesting an invite off someone just to have my entire existence ignored by them after joining -people who won't shut up about going to cons and make it there entire personality -when people interrupt you right as you're about to state what there interrupting you about so you have to restart your train of thought and they keep this cycle -the assumptions biased off my avatar one (you have no idea how many times people assumed I was a bottom because I'm an otter .-.) -people who don't leave the terrors of nowhere world.

Alr I’ma say a few things, I surprisingly haven’t experienced the first, kinda used to the switching language thing, stepfamily is all Peruvian but knows English yes was and still is a bit irritating when I understand 0 of what is going on (Spanish teaching in American schools is dogshit) but at least I can understand other things, I have I think had some people make assumptions based off avi and voice because my voice isn’t exactly low or masculine enough for people to assume it isn’t an act, so people assume femboy (I believe more voice but Idfk)
Avatar size was a problem for me, until it became possible to force someone's fallback avatar if they go over a certain threshold. I honestly don't know why its such an issue these dayz. 😅

I can say whatever I want" to be extremely rude, racist, annoying, or just plain hateful toward whomever. Seriously, that's one of the most irritating things I hear there. Just because you're anonymous behind your headset/screen or whatever, that's no a justifiable reason to be a jackass toward others. Immature, and frankly, showing who people truly are inside, it just makes me have to waste my time blocking people more and more.

sadly that's how it goes for some people, if yer either too smol, too tall or a snake in general, it gets somewhat bunched up with it at times

The talking while people watching a video is not all too bad for me, I just go and lower their volume and be done with it,
But the one that always annoys me that wasnt mentioned here is people who constantly just walk through others. Like I know its sometimes easy to do accidently in a crowded area, but its especially bad when I talk to someone and they see someone behind me, so they just say "hold on a sec, hold that thought", run *straight through me* and go talk to the other guy. At that point I just dont care and find someone else to talk to. I have a friend who does that constantly and its not fun
a pet peeve of mine is when trusted users completely ignore people who aren't trusted or act all elitist. i have the funny purple tag and so do many other people its NOT that serious lol
I feel the language one, I had like a small group of people who ALL were germans except for me and they sometimes started speaking german out of the blue. I didn't mind it at first but sometimes it was getting a bit much.
Hosted meets or crowded worlds where the world is too small for a large group of people.
Even with earmuff mode on, I can't hear what folks are saying to me because of so many people talking at the same time and I can't find a quiet(er) spot to pull my conversations to.

My personal peev is people not taking turns to play music at a mirror and playing music over soneone else. If im already playing music,just ask and i'll happely take turns,dont just start playing it over the top of someone!
And as for my friends, ik they hate it when people stand infront of the mirror (mainly people new to vrc that dont know about mirror dwelling/music mirror dwelling) for me i just hide their avi and since im short it wont bother me, buuttt my friends get much more annoied by it.

Any kind of eating and drinking should be done with the microphone muted.
People with hyperacusis and misophonia are more common than people think, which is actually traumatic to some of them because of how severely debilitating it is.
In general it's just disrespectful not to mute.

One of my pet peeves is constant deliberate edginess to try get attention away from something really cool happening because they want that attention, and they'll straight up sabotage it to get it, then they act like a victim when they're told off.
honestly the optimization one gets me so bad as both a questie and an avatar creator. I make avatars with quest performance in mind. What's really cool is that there's a community of people who have grown really fond of the look of low poly avatars, so i've been making a whole bunch of them (i try to keep them medium rank or better on quest) and people love them!
i agree with the last one about avatars. I do wish people were more conscious of how their avatars affect others, especially in populated worlds.
My biggest pet peeve is someone's microphone getting all static or anything of a loud screeching noise and they dont fix it, i HATE it cause i got sensitive hearing
I get the language switch one. It really irritates me though when two people are in one of my group instances and they get harassed by some random just because they’re not speaking English

Switch to other language.... Tja jag gör det now and then but it is due to either we talk to eachother only so we use our language or I do it för att djävlas. Then I got it back from my friend.... When hearing German or netherlandic suddenly is "ok what did they say now?" or when we nordic meets up and Norwegean, Swedish and Dansish speak with eachother in our language and a couple of Finnish comes and the rest of us go "Huh?".

My pet peeve is how much people rp disorders like dissociative ones - it's harmful to people with those disorders, there's a crossover with the DDLG people who inflict their fetish on others without consent. Honestly, just anyone not respecting consent. Oh! And the "you were nice to me on the one occasion we've met, join my harem? I'll understand if you say no because most people hate me I'm just a huge unloveable monster :( who am I kidding? so anyway let's go erp now"

@@Yipper64 Happens in VRC way more often than you might expect it to. Seems to be the new "trend"... someone has some type of disorder, someone else suddenly has to have the same, and then another claims to, so on and so forth.

Plus the very, shall we say, progressive, type that seems to populate most of VR Chat.

Of course, others see this and, surprise, they suddenly have said trait about themselves as well. "Look I've got a disorder! Notice me, give me attention!"
Sounds crazy, but it happens constantly. I myself am a trans-female, and I've been shocked by the number of people I've known, who were part of my friends, that suddenly *became trans* as well, when they saw the amount of people around me or the attention and my ability to easily make friends. They believe that being that is how to get all that. They found out, it's not. It's who you are, and how you treat and interact with others. These people have since gotten enraged and left, even blaming me for their failure, but that's whatever.
Bottom line.. people need to stop trying to fake things that they know nothing about, or just to grab attention and be trendy.

i tend to have a lot of people muted that i dopn't know just for a couple of the reasons you mentioned
-people joining a world, inviting 20 people there without asking if it was ok, then hijacking the instance as if it was there's to do something else
-people stealing a conversation I was invested in from me
-requesting an invite off someone just to have my entire existence ignored by them after joining
-people who won't shut up about going to cons and make it there entire personality
-when people interrupt you right as you're about to state what there interrupting you about so you have to restart your train of thought and they keep this cycle
-the assumptions biased off my avatar one (you have no idea how many times people assumed I was a bottom because I'm an otter .-.)
-people who don't leave the terrors of nowhere world.
1: I hate when people use Avatars that are 3 times the map.
2: when people are just cursing at each other nonstop and no one vote kicks them or does anything about it.
3: I hate it when people have a Avatar that lags, crashes, or just annoying effects/particles (I like to call this one "the Goku" because it's always a Goku avatar that does this)

Alr I’ma say a few things, I surprisingly haven’t experienced the first, kinda used to the switching language thing, stepfamily is all Peruvian but knows English yes was and still is a bit irritating when I understand 0 of what is going on (Spanish teaching in American schools is dogshit) but at least I can understand other things, I have I think had some people make assumptions based off avi and voice because my voice isn’t exactly low or masculine enough for people to assume it isn’t an act, so people assume femboy (I believe more voice but Idfk)

My personal pet peev is a simple issue to solve, if people had any common sense or decency in their lives, or personalities.
Just the entire excuse of "It's VRC, get over it. I can say whatever I want" to be extremely rude, racist, annoying, or just plain hateful toward whomever. Seriously, that's one of the most irritating things I hear there. Just because you're anonymous behind your headset/screen or whatever, that's no a justifiable reason to be a jackass toward others. Immature, and frankly, showing who people truly are inside, it just makes me have to waste my time blocking people more and more.
