  • How to remove and re-install the deck on your Z231 or Z251 Kubota Zero Turn mower. Replacing a broken Tensioner spring and sharpening the blades. It is always a good idea to clean the deck every few mows so we are taking care of that service as well!

    Thanks for posting. That key ring thing would have drove me nuts. I would have been yanking on it wondering why it didn’t come out with the pin hahaha

    With the deck pins removed (free deck) and the hand brake and hydrogear disengaged, the front end is quite light so you can just lift it up and walk the whole mower backward. Just be careful stepping over the deck.

    If people don't have a hoist, you can always use a truck tied down/ratchet strap over a beam to lift it.

    That's actually the wrong type of spring, they should've used a compression spring. Once you see how to use a compression spring to provide tension you'll know what I mean 😊

    I was really hoping that you would show how to put the belt back around the loops cause I’ve been out here for four hours and I still can’t figure it out with CZcams videos or the guide or any forms online

    You do realize that there are only four bolts holding the foot plate on. Remove that, replace the spring and ur off to the races.

    Have you ever had to change the Armature-Magneto (coil). I'm pretty sure mine is only firing on one cylinder right now. Runs great till I engage the PTO. I did a check I saw on another CZcams video of a different mower. Showed them pulling the spark plug wire and it still ran, then the other and it quit. Mine is doing the same. Have already changed the fuel filter, drained and replaced the fuel, air filter, charged the battery to 100%. Next up is change the Shut off filter valve and the fuel pump but I'm going to hold off on that till I can verify this coil is bad or not.

      I would try testing the coil to see if you are good there before replacing any more parts, testing the coil is free and could likely be the issue. Check this link out for testing the coil:

      I saw some videos on how to check the coil. I went and got a spark plug tester and was getting spark. So I thought oh crap it’s something worse. I decided to check the ground on the coil as well. Before that I decided to video what I’ve tested up to this point. In cause I need to take it to the shop as the mechanics never trust the owners. I take the the spark plug tester off and put the wires back on. It’s fired up but seems like allot more smoke than I’m used to. I do the wire test (pulling) and it doesn’t quit. Wtf! So I put the wires back on and engage the PTO and it’s running like a champ. Well apparently the one plug wire wasn’t seated all the way or the cylinder was fouled with fuel. It is running like new again.

      @Rebecca Hagemann could also be a sticking valve. Glad you got it sorted!

      Colemanequip.com has it listed as P/N K5639-36740. Copy and paste the P/N into google and you should find it quick!

    How on earth did you get the belt back on the PTO

    • @meadowgreenfarm
      @meadowgreenfarm  Před rokem

      I get the belt into the V-groove on the right side, pinch the belt to the pulley with one hand and spin the PTO with the other. It does take a bit of hand strength but its not too bad.
