The smooth ride of a tractor sure is nice!
It is!
I just bought 9 acres of cleared land and did my first cut with a zero turn… wasnt fun at all, looking to get a tractor
Tractor. Way more versatile, keeps you cleaner and much better bang for your buck. Take the shoot off for a much better finished look. Love your videos.
Thanks! And I agree. Got my friend Lucas on the zero turn last year for a spin: czcams.com/video/03fzY1XViIA/video.html
Great job Deb. I love mowing could do it all day.
Ear buds and a canopy and she's happy!
Routinely groomed 25 acres of horse & cow pastures with ZD28, at max travel height with razor sharp blades. Pay attention, was no sweat. Tom's 72-inch zero turn bush hog. TFS
25 acres is a lot of mowing!
Great job you two. Both machines definitely have their place.
Thanks, we love all machinery no matter the color of paint!
I think one issue in the video wasn't just the arms on the tractor but the lift capacity at the ends. I think the summit is only 1322 lbs there are several manufacturers offer higher lift capacity. Also i woukd highly recommend looking into a flail mower. It chops it up and doesn't cause spots clumped that kills the seeds he is wanting to help overcome the invasive species. Also takes less room to store and offers using one implement than two implements. Just a suggestion to look into. Especially when cutting in or next to woods you dont have that long extension sticking out back when turning. Thanks for the video. Best of luck with your new house. Also i vote for the goat fence much more practical and can be used as a pasture in a pinch.
The mower isn't too heavy for the Summit to lift....it's just that the Summit has short lift arms. I had the top link as short as it would go....there' is only one hole on the tractor side for the top link. Thanks for watching.
A frail mower or a sickle mower would make mowing around that pond easier. I personally mow with a heavy duty frail mower and a laneshark. If I had more land I would likely go with a sickle bar…. Videos of those look awesome mowing down grass.
We used a sickle bar to cut hay last year in this video: czcams.com/video/HDmVxpDuHAM/video.html
My understanding is a zero turn has way more speed and get the job done quicker. Long term, the tractor and finish mower will far outlast the zero turn.
Like Deb said, she likes zipping around on the ZTR. I like the comfort of the tractor. We are blessed to have both. Thanks for watching!
It may just be location but tractors seem to hold their value, besides lasting longer than a zero turn. Also so much more options or uses with a tractor and loader. Even in the first part of the video it showed moving fertilizer with pallet forks. So plowing, discing, flail mower, brush hog, stump grinder, wood splitter, snow towing, box blade, grader etc etc In my opinion the tractor would get my vote every time. Besides my back can not take the jarring from a zero turn, and everything else posted.
I mow in circles.. starting at the center and gradually increasing the radius. This is because our old tractor with underbelly mower pulls to one side, very easy to turn to the right, harder to turn to the left. Why wear yourself out? Lol Computer efficient patterns would mow in offset parallel rows, gradually shifting to one side.
I like the way you think!

thanks for watching!
deb aint scared to get dirty! awsome job guys!
I was surprised she gave y'all a close up!
@@PineyGroveHomestead shes deffanatly warming up to the camera thats for sure! shes doing a great job!
Tractor is much more comfortable to operate....those zero turns do one thing well and that is go fast, they don't cut great when people drive them wide open and for some reason people think that's how they should use them, just because they do 12mph doesn't mean you mow at that speed, regardless what mower you have, slower travel speed gives much better cut quality, course good blades help too, but speed is a good 2nd place to good cut quality.
Agree, they cut better when they are low and slow.
Need to contemplate a cover for the summit tractor. Florida heat is brutal.
Take care
We are working on a solution!! Thanks for watching and supporting.
@PineyGroveHomestead
I have a Rhino Canopy on my JD compact tractor. I am happy with it, and it's also easily taken off if need be. I can take mine off in 2 minutes.
That pond looks pretty full. Time for an update?
Lots of rain this spring! Thanks for watching.
The black stained 3 board/goat fence would be a good compromise.
Looks like all Bahia?
I’ve been mowing our 2 acres with my BX with mud mount deck. Very happy with it. Just mowed with a zero turned. The ZT might edge out the BX. We’ll see.
Here's my friend Lucas trying out both....he owns a BX with MMM. czcams.com/video/03fzY1XViIA/video.html
How long does it take you to mow with your BX? I used to mow 2 acres several years ago, but it was with an old Craftsman GT6000 garden tractor with a 44 inch deck, and it took about 2-1/2 to 3 hours depending on how thick the grass was.
@@wildbill23c I started with a Craftsman 42 rider, about 4 hrs then got the 60” with the BX. I’ve never really timed it. At least 2 plus hours. The ZT definitely was a quicker time but by how much I don’t know. I’ll have to check both. 👍
Debs favorite tool…the shovel. 😂😂
Makes a great birthday present, you should try it, Mike!

Check with tax office on wrought iron fence it will increase your property taxs
Everything increases taxes!
Yep, all those fancy fences add taxes to your property for sure, so does outbuildings and any concrete at least where I live...anything you do to make your property better you get taxed for, and they can't figure out why people just keep their places all ran down and junkyard looking....well you tax the crap out of people already, then if they make their place look good, you tax them some more so, hmm gee wonder why.
Tractor
I agree but Deb likes the ZTR.
So you made the whole video about you and no one cares you click bait people with the title and act like your celebrities or something. If you want to make on infomercial try adding in some useful information
You're pretty upset for free content that took a lot of effort on our part to bring to you.. There's a tractor and zero turn in the thumb, in the title and in the video.......I fail to see your point.
