Lovely video. I'm very excited for Thursday. I think you should offer to buy the vintage fabric off the lady at your sewing group or maybe offer to swap it for some similar (but not vintage) fabric from your stash. X
Me too, finally I'm doing something I've planned for so long and it's actually happening Anita. Oh it's so hard, because I really want to, but it just feels so rude. we shall see. X
Lovely catch-up Lisa. I’m looking forward to next Thursday 👏👏👏👏❤️🌺
Glad you enjoyed Lenore 💖 yes the days are rushing away so nearly there 😀💖
I can’t wait xxx
It’s nearly time Kathy 😀💖
Lovely catch up Lisa and yes we are in your camera but we not as naughty as Mike TV 😆 Your dresses are lovely and I love your new wares.
As for the fabric, the lady in your class brought up the subject about you having it. I would maybe suggest she can choose a one piece fabric (from your selection) as a swap. You both win 😍
Glad you enjoyed Christine. Thankyou so much. I’m thinking if it will be it will be, but I won’t push for it as I’d hate to be rude. ❤️
Fab makes and wips. Go ahead and offer for that fabric, you will regret it if you don't
Thankyou Jane. Seems more think I should. I'm torn between regretting it and thinking finders keepers X
I also love vintage fabric, and I get the feeling of preserving the fabric, but keep in mind it wasn't used because no one liked it enough to use it. Plus, if we don't use it it's never going to live. Its all just fabric. Besides, making it your job to "save" something from someone else implies a level of superiority that you might not intend. Worth considering.
Fair point Laura. I do view vintage anything that has survived as something unique to be treasured, however, I really wouldn’t want to assume any stance of superiority at all. So I should just forget about it ☺️
Poor Kitty, they do get a bit forgetful as they get older, normally cats are so clean (it makes up for them being so naughty).
I don't think you can ask for the fabric, finders keepers! Plus you have that beautiful dress..... sooooo pretty!
Unfortunately Taku has always been hit and miss about weeing and pooing outside or inside. nowadays he wees indoors pretty much all the time. I feel sorry for him being old, but it does get wearing making sure nothing precious is left on the floor and trying to stop our home stinking. Thanks for your thoughts on the fabric Hannah, kind of how I feel, itching to reach out for it, but think I'll be good. x
@@bobobun My sister and I had 2 cats that lived well into their mid 20's, I think by the end Enzo had a bit of dementia (or was too lazy to find the litter) and there were always surprises about the house. Taku is such a cute name, I think we require cat tax (an appearance please) next time you mention him.
@@hannahv1930 I think a bit of dementia and his eyesight is failing too poor old boy. He may appear as well as Lily cat too ☺️
Haya. You are just seeeeeeeew lovely. Yup the kitty incontinence thing 😺however 1 of mine occasionally just does it because he is naughty. . . gotta love them 🤣I know what you mean about the fabric & I would also feel the same as you are, as the lady offered, I guess that was your que to say yes please, asking now a little later might seem a little late as time has passed 🙂Have a wonderful weekend, thanku sew' much for sharing 🪡✂🧵🙂
It’s trying to stop our house smelling like a crazy cat ladies home, I fear it does though 😳 yes I should have said so at the time, but it felt bad. Onwards, forget the cloth Lisa, honestly 😂. Have a lovely time too Anna 💖💖💖
@@bobobun I think I am the crazy cat lady 🤣😺
Please rescue the vintage fabric. I was also getting palpitations thinking about it. It was also lovely hearing a name from my past - Petra Boase. Many years ago we worked together - I was editing crafts books at Anness Publishing and she was a super talented designer. I think she contributed to Complete Creative Crafts. Such a lovely person. I wouldn’t wonder if she’s forgotten me in the mists of time mind you! 💗💐
Ha, why does vintage fabric do it to us, you know if you know hey Samantha. That's interesting that you know Petra, I doubt she has forgotten you, she seems a truly honest, thoughtful person. I'll ask her when I next see her X
After listening to your brain, I just want to wave to you - one of your little people
Hi Lisa Thanks for the great the video I was a vintage maker up to 5 years ago when I lost the majority of my sight due to a terrible injury I now have 15% left and have returned to the UK after living abroad all that time. My friends when I left bought me a gorgeous brand new sewing as an encouragement to get back and enjoy my forced retirement any thoughts you can give me would help I also still knit and crochet my favorite eras are 40's and 50's. Thanks Laura
Hello Laura, I'm very sorry to hear that your injury caused you to lose a lot of your sight.
How kind of your friends to buy you such a gift. I have a lady in one of my Sewing Clubs whose nanny was registered blind, I believe she lost her sight at 18. She sounds an inspiring lady as she strove to have an independent life in the days when there was less understanding. She had the first guide dog in the UK, got married and had children. She knitted and sewed all her own clothes, my student sews on her nanny"s machine,
she said her dad and aunt cut out the fabric for her and she did everything else by touch. she put all her different projects in different things so she could tell which was which. Apparently there were no flies on her. I'd have loved to meet her as she sounds such fun and so strong. X
