  • Hello,
    Welcome to my first legit video (I have made videos in the past but those were either 4 years ago and incredibly cringe or supposed to be shorts!)
    In this video I show you the process of making a matching waistcoat to trousers I made ~6 months ago, but it turned out to be more of a challenge than expected.

    This is wonderful! I love the embroidery and beading you did. The outfit at the end has wonderful retro 80s fantasy-inspired vibes.

    Beautiful! This is the first time I had heard of tambour embroidery, so it was fascinating to see how that goes. Now I'm wondering how many hours went into your entire project. I thought you said it was 30 hours for just the front yoke pieces. Wow, I can appreciate how and why clothing costs what it does. Brava for making ingenious use of your remnants. Wear your personal couture with pride!

      Yes, about 30 hours for the embroidered yokes. I spend about 10 afternoons on it.

    This was amazing! As someone that is just learning Tambor embroidery I love seeing it applied in different ways. Please continue making content like this!

      Thank you a lot! I actually only just started myself, before this I just did the practice assignments in my classes (I did a 1 month tambour course of 2 hours every week) and made a belt on the same piece of fabric as the practice still (instagram.com/p/CzwFdNxIzVv/?img_index=1), which is why I was quite nervous about putting the fabric on and getting it back off the frame! But I like to challenge myself and was like "hey, lemme do it on opaque fabric right away", even though that is rarely done.

      @@gittevandevelde2208I would never have thought you were a beginner, it came out just beautiful . I’m so jealous you were able to take a class, I’m learning via CZcams. I wish there were classes available in my area. The design you did on the belt is beautiful also.

    This vest form is truly beautiful, as a person with a few pounds of fat (or more LOL), I'll totally try to add flounce to my Sparrow Fashion vest pattern🤭

    The frill or flounce around the waist of a vest, blouse, or jacket that forms almost a very short skirt is called a peplum. I thought you were groping a bit for the word.

    • @gittevandevelde2208
      @gittevandevelde2208  Před měsícem

      Oh I know what it's called! If I sound like I search for a word a bit it might be because english is not my first language so I am groping at all of the words trying to make coherent sentences :) sometimes I also used "skirt" for variety.
