- I was getting several messages on my control panel. Service Brake System, Service Stablitrak, Traction Control Off. In this video I go over the possible causes as well as the solution for my issue. This procedure can be used on Chevrolet, GMC, Yukon, Cadillac Escalade, Denali, Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, and Silverado.

Glad to help. Remember to keep an eye on it. Also check your brake pads as low brake fluid sometimes is a sign of worn brake pads.

Just keep an eye on it to make sure there isn’t a leak. Usually it’s also low when your brake pads are getting low so keep an eye on the brake pads.

Btw, if the brake fluid is low in the reservoir, your brake pads may be getting low. Keep an eye on them.

check your speed sensors i had that happened to me on my escalade 07 stability track and traction control it turned out i had a bad speed sensor .
I stopped at a red light and when I proceeded to go my car wouldn't pull forward it was a heavy jerking from the back. Glad traffic wasn't to bad. My stabilitrak message along with abs and brake lights are on . I am completely unable to drive it at the time what could it be 2011 srx4 Cadillac

Omar, thank you. This was my issue. it was such a pain to hear that dinging and to have the stabilitrack turning off all the time. Now to change the brake pads.

Yep, Canister stained it looked full but was low. Hit it with a flashlight and showed the real fluid level. Filled it up and it fixed it up!! Thanks Omar nice communication and going through things slow and simple...

Hi, I have the traction control light on and it never switches off. I changed the booster and the master cylinder. I flushed the full brake system and I put new brake oil. And it still not going. It really affects the drive, the car feels that it's applying brake. I have Ford Explorer 2007.
I put new brake pads too. The parking brake light was still on even if I release it. I had to change the parking brake switch and it's gone. So the main problem now is with traction!
I have 2011 Escalade esv with check engine code po300 and stabilitrak light on! Got new spark plugs, intake, solenoid, maf sensor and fuel injector and still nothing fixed it. Only misfire when idle. Does anyone have any idea what could it be?

Make sure to keep an eye on it. If it happens again it’s possible to have a leak somewhere. If it was just a little bit like mine then you should be ok.

Big thanks i just bought a 07 escalade that had low brake fluid and was causing my brake and stabilitrak light to come on wich was causing issues. My engine didnt felt like it didnt have the right power and was shifting funny at time. Its crazy!!!! How this sensor can cause that. Added brake fluid and the lights came off my truck is driving normal now !!!
Just keep an eye on the brake fluid level...usually a low brake fluid level means your brake pads are low, you have a leak in the system, or it was just never filled correctly from the beginning.. In my case, the rear pads were getting close to needing change.
Good info ima try that because my escalade also has that light come & go somtimes. And my cruise control will work the first time but if i hit the brakes it will not activate again unless i turn the vehicle off & on.
The cruise control issue is probably related to the brake controller switch on the brake pedal. I have a video on how to fix that for around $15. The link to the switch you can buy is in the description.

ABS traction control like a stabilitrak tuns off an car goes into two wheel drive only. Would you possibly know the problem boss?

If you have to add brake fluid you either have a leak or your pads are worn substantially, either way fluid should not be added until the problem is rectified. If your pads are worn and you add fluid when the pads are replaced fluid will spill out due to overfill. If you have a leak that is a dangerous situation and could cause loss of breaking ability. Please don't just add fluid!!!
You are correct, your pads are either low or you may have a leak if the reservoir is exceptionally low. The issue is that for some reason the point at which the sensor gets triggered in these cars seems to be pretty high in the reservoir. My pads were still pretty good and I had no leaks. The light would be triggered while driving because the fluid would move around in the reservoir and trigger the sensor. I 100% agree with you though, I would definitely check the wear on the pads amd make sure there are no leaks.
I had to add brake fluid but not for any of those reasons. Just for the sheer fact that I kept checking the pads while doing tire rotations and I was able to change out just the pads and keep the rotor. So after four times of changing out the pads only I had to add to the reservoir problem with doing that is you don't want to add a lot because when you go to throw new rotors and pads on it will be too much fluid in there

Drove it around for about 20 miles. If. It try disconnecting the battery for a while.
I cleaned all my grounds the one in the front bay the one in the middle by the steps and the one by the gas cap under the car the light was still coming off and on but then I notice that my k&n filter was off and bam light went off crazy right

I just bought a 2009 Cadillac Escalade and I got the issue with the brakes twice, every time I stop and turn off and it’s back to normal, I check the brake fluid and it’s good I took it to the cadilllac dealer and they said it’s not a issue and it happens again today, you got that issue back again ?
Once I did this the light never came back. Maybe the sensor is going bad?
My 2019 GMC Sierra has parking service on, along with esc service on. It popped off after goin 70 mph and the light won’t go away, could it be a sensor?
Also, my check engine light is on and flashes, I believe the engine is misfiring too.
Check you battery or battery ground. A weak battery or rusty ground could cause electrical issues that can trigger several lights.

I'm having the same problem but my brake fluid is full and I also replaced the brake sensor under the brake padal my light comes on and off it just started doing it I just finished cleaning all my ground wires too still comes on
Make sure to check all the fuses and also it could be the brake fluid level sensor in the actual reservoir that has gone bad. Have you been able to hook a scan tool to the car?
2008 impala. snow. on road. i hit the brakes to slide. (my way of testing the roads) now my money light is on for the brake.. thoguhts?
Wish I could help but not too familiar with the impalas. Seems like the abs brake system would kick in on a slide…guessing something got triggered. Is the light still on?

jack meeoff use whatever it says on the cap of your brake fluid reservoir. Most new cars use dot 3 or dot 4.

Boss so when I start my Escalade and drive like 10 ft brakes in gage like on and off then the traction control and stability light comes on and stays on but brake release to normal but code Was telling me steering sensor
Could be a steering angle sensor but it’s hard for me to know. Steering angle sensor doesn’t usually cause brakes to engage and disengage though. We

I have a 2010 Cadillac DTS with the service stabiltrak message popping up with the traction control Iight popping up. Could this fix my situation.?
I don’t see why not. They usually share the same components.

I have an 06 dts ,I have to add brake fluid like every other 3 to 4 weeks sometimes because of stabili track and traction control...what do you think it could be ?could I need a brake pads ?if so why would lights go off when I add fluid
I'm pretty sure the stabilitrak very unusual and confusing to replace the brake lines, takes a 1/4 OD brake line front and to the back to the axle. Then there's two 3/16 lines to the calipers.
The confusion is in the 5/16 fittings that take a 1/4 line. GM has gone crazy.
THE LAST TIME WE DID THIS WE USED COPPER AND THE OLD FITTINGS.
So I found my problem so I thought I had enough brake fluid but it turns out what I thought was the oil level was just a stain and my oil leve is actuly below the minimum mark gosh darn lol hope filling it solves my problem lol

My dad has a 2010 Cadillac Escalade and I think the stabilizer broke or something like that and we don't know what a stabilizer is, What is a stabilizer? Also when we start up the car the engines make clanking noises and start to shut off every 10 sec. What is the problem to the engine?
Check your oil
Make sure you got good is plugs plug wires and coils

This was a 2008 Cadillac Escalade but it shares many of the same parts as a Yukon, Denali, etc.
I have an 07 the runs like a champ on the highway but after I drive it about 20 miles and pull off the highway and come to a stop light it will shut off on me then won't turn on right away. do you have any ideas what it could be. I have changed mass air flow sensor, map sensor , cam sensor , alternator, battery , purge value, throttle position sensor, scubbed all my grounding points with a wire brush and still have this issue. the tire sensor will blink then shortly after the service stability traction will show up with this happens. any ideas please help
Will it drive around normally before you drive 20 miles? Could be something regarding a temperature sensor. When on the highway you are pushing air through the radiator but at idle temperatures will rise instantly. It could be the car shutting off to prevent overheating.
@@OmarsGarage I put the old mass air flow sensor back in because it all started after I put a new aftermarket one in . I have driving It for about 20 miles now and now problem. I think the computer did not recognize the new after market one and woud put it in some sort of limp mode
With these issues all at once did you also loose the ability to use cruise control?
The cruise control is a separate issue that I also repaired in another video I made. It’s a break switch that goes bad and disables the cruise control usually. It’s like a $15 fix. Checkout my other videos.

Could be a bad ground. There is a ground cable on the firewall near the brake fluid reservoir that can sometimes get rusted. Remove the screw and clean with a wire brush and see if that helps.

Teddy Evans I’ve you scanned the computer for codes? If you haven’t then you can go to an auto parts store and they will usually do it for free. Check the brake fluid reservoir to see if it’s full. If the sensor that senses the minimum level is bad it can also cause this. There could be many reasons, but that’s what I would check first.
Omar's Garage if by chance it’s the minimum sensor would filling it back up cause the sensor to not activate?
Teddy Evans if it’s faulty it just won’t recognize that it’s full though it could also trigger an error with the brakes.

My 2010 esv has been in a shop for about a month now because of this problem. Idk if they know what they’re doing because they said they narrowed it down to cylinder 7 misfiring and nothing was said about the ground or corrosion. Now I have to wait longer for them to send the cylinder back to be re machined or valve job supposably. SOMEONE who has been down my alley PLEASE share some wisdom and some kind of HOPE. I’ve watched countless Escalade service stabilitrak videos and told the guys at the shop and they rescanned the ride and it kept saying mis fire

Omar's Garage I picked up the ride Saturday and today the stabiltrak and engine light came on. Mechanic told me it was a misfire because the tray was jamming it up due to being old and never replaced. Taking it back tmrw and telling them to start with the coils and plugs and ground cables and speed sensors.

Omar's Garage dropped it back off this morning and they plugged the code reader and it said still misfire. Wondering if I should order new wiring all around because they look pretty old. But we’ll keep you posted once they call me back with a solution.

You may have a loose ground. That will display a bunch of different lights. Remove the ground cables and clean them as a first step.

So your brake fluid level is above the minimum? If it is another thing that goes wrong is sometimes you get corrosion on the ground cables. You may need to remove them and clean them with a wire brush and reinstall.

Did a lot to my truck I did new fuel pump new canister charcoal canister all the lines are new new spark plugs new wires also did new suspension shocks front and back new calibers because the old ones where sticking I still have to put in a new water pump new cam sensor new cam it's self with the bolt that goes to the cam I also need to change the timing chain man I have so many new parts but looking for time to do all this is hard I also ordered a oil pump too can't wait to get all this done I just want to make her bullet proof again
I sold mine a couple years ago, but it was definitely one of my favorites.

@@davntelisha19 I purchased the truck new in 2008 and owned it for over 10 years. I just wanted to get something new and after driving a Tesla I was sold on the speed, comfort, and technology. I purchased a pre owned Model X 7 seater. Saving on gas is also nice.

I have a 2005 Cadillac escalade ext
I was driving to work and my brake light and TC light came on.
Also my dash read service brake system and stability system disabled.
I was driving when they came on. I hit my brakes to stop and had none. One of my brake lines ruptured. I read GM used steel lines that corrode for certain years and 2005 was one of those years. I found the busted line and replaced it. I also replaced 3 others as they were rusted also. I replaced the 2 lines from abs module to front wheels and from abs module to master cylinder. I topped off my fluid and bled the brakes. I plan on replacing brake lines that run to the rear wheels as well but I have to drop my fuel tank to do that so I'll save that for another day.
Anyways like I said I fixed the leak and everything seems to be good now but, my brake light and TC light are still illuminated on the dash and my dash readout is still saying service brake system and stability system disabled.
Will these lights and messages go away on their own or do I have to have them reset?
It's been 2 days since I replaced lines and lights still haven't turned off.
I dont know if a brake light turns itself off after problem is fixed light a check engine light will or do you have to have it reset even after fixing the problem like a airbag light?
Not sure if it will automatically reset itself. You can try disconnecting the battery and holding the two cables together to discharge and electricity in the system. This will usually reset the computer. Leave it unplugged for a good thirty minutes. See if that works, but the best thing after that would be to use an obdii scanner to check for codes.

@@mrsmokeright i will be driving fine, then all of a sudden the TC light ( Circle with TC ), the other TC LIGHT ( Car with wavy lines ) , and a parking brake light with a little wrench under it. They all turn on at the same time. The service stabiletrak message will appear in the info screen under the MPH gauge. Then I have power loss that gets increasingly worse every time I have to come to a stop ( like at a traffic light ). EX: Car will be preforming just fine when out of no where the Three lights and Error message turn on all at the same time and the car will feel as if it Hard shifts one gear. I then stop at a light, when green I go to accelerate but have 25% power loss. I then stop at another light but this time on accelerating the power loss will be maybe 60%. On the third stop power loss will be at %95 when I go to accelerate, taking about 45 seconds to get up to 20-30 MPH. The engines RPMs during the finale power loss act as if I’m stuck in 1st gear. Once parked the car will not recognize to be in park and will display “Shift to park” error on Info screen. Also the shift letter will normally turn red in the selected position but during this entire event it will not display red. If I let the car rest for 20 or so minutes all errors disappear but resurface after 10 minutes of driving.
Glad I found this video man; I have all these same exact messages on my display coming up, for almost 2 months now.
Nobody ever told me this might b the issue causing it.
I’ve already spent near 500 fixing countless other things that didn’t even fix it.

Hopefully this is it. It could also be the sensor in the reservoir. If it’s significantly low keep an eye on it as there could be a leak in your brake system which can be dangerous.

I just disconnected the brake switch and reconnected it and light went away
FOWLBOYBEATZ Citykey fowlsidefamily that can work if its related to the switch. If you are low on brake fluid it will keep coming back until you top off the brake fluid. Thanks for the tip though. This could resolve the issue for people who don't have low brake fluid.
@@OmarsGarage I have a 2007 Pontiac Torrent, the brake light came on and I found out that it needed front brake pads. It went off once I changed them, but now it's coming back on. I checked to brake fluid and it's full. Anything else could be causing the light to come on?
Maybe the rear brake pads? Do those have electronic wear sensors on them? That’s the only way they would trigger a brake light.

It could be several things. The emergency brake may not be all the way down or the sensor that tells the computer that it is all the way down could be bad. It could be the pressure differential switch in the master cylinder. It could be that one of you brake lights is out. These are the common issues. Have you read the codes off of it?
