Forgotten for 20 years! 1968 Ford F100! Will It Run?!?

- A viewer reached out and said they had some abandoned vehicles for sale. One of them was this 1968 Ford F100 in Rangoon Red! He said it was on the property when he bought it and didn't know much about it other than it was running when it was parked. Lets see if we can get it running and driving after a 20 year slumber! This truck has been SOLD!!! As always, thanks for watching!

Puddin always lubricates the cylinders, which is why he's a better content creator and a better man than Mortske.
And what exactly happens when you don't lubricate the cylinders? I guess I have yet to have any issues?
Or, maybe you just enjoy Puddin's shirtless pressure washing 🤨😆
HEY EVERYBODY, There`s a "Lubricator" in here...
When it turns that easily by hand, there is no need to lubricate the cylinders.
No, Mortske has it going on! I’m sorry, but really no offense!!! He’s really a great wrench. He’s been doing this for years!
You gotta admit, the ole Mortske flick works 9X outa 10.
I freaking love the Mortske minute NEVER stop doing it !!!! I love the interesting things you tell us about. I’m a sucker for history
Thanks!
I live in California. I've lived here off and on (moved around for work quite a bit) for the better part of 40 years, and the overregulation is so far reaching, it is almost comical. We can't buy an aftermarket air cleaner for our motorcycles, but if you wanna go and steal from the local grocery store, be our guest.
What a deal!
Sorry for you resident's that care.
You couldn’t pay me to live in California
@@vinces8974 is anyone offering?
There is a mental illness called liberalism and it runs rampant in Commiefornia. Beautiful state, crazy residents (and illegals by the millions).
The ignition shock kills me every single time. 😂😂😂
Glad you enjoy it!
The GVW on the truck is most likely a lot of states considered them to be commercial vehicles. Dad had a 68 F150 as he was a carpenter and I remember him having to go through the kabuki theater of running it over the roadside truck scales here in Illinois back in the 70s and even had to go through commercial vehicle safety inspections even if it was a daily driver. Think the requirement to pull a regular sized pick up over the scales was gotten rid of some time in the late 70s and the safety inspections went away in the late 80s when pick ups became regular daily drivers that once in a great while carried something bulkier than the weekly groceries because that was done by the time I got my Ranger in 90.
I hear that my dad's work truck when I was in highschool was a 70 Ford F-250 from western Illinois over by the lakes so was very rusty and it had scales certification stickers on the Dr side of inside of the windshield..
Your trials with Bernie brings back memories. If you were closer to me I'd be pleased to show you how to operate him as I did many others back in my younger days. You and Duff keep on keeping on. This old man enjoys the content.
I can't help it!! It's so freaking funny every time i watch you get shocked by the coil wire!😜😁
Ouh i am glad i live in southeast Finland, only one foot of snow depht, and 23°f.
Forgotten for decades but lovingly remembered by the man in the Frozen Upper Plains...😎
Thanks for another great Mortske Monday! Thanks always to the editing department. Good luck 🍺🐾
Our pleasure Stu!
Thank you! Nobody realizes how long it takes me to edit these videos. And to think I only get paid $20 for each one 😢
What a faithful son of a biscuit this old ferd is.
Woke up just in time to hear you say that most folks were probably asleep in their recliners. Bad enough knowing my phone listens to me, now Mortske can see me through my TV. 😅
haha
My uncle had a 70 F250 with a cargo lamp and it had that same warning sticker to turn it off when moving.
Not bad for sitting in a field 20+ years!!!! Rusty cab mounts throw everything off. Really messed up the clutch linkage on my 73. Really enjoy the Chanel
Puddin always gets out of his truck to setup his camera so we can actually see the donuts when he does them, which is why hes a better donut recorder and a better donut performer than Mortske.
Pshhhh you wish
The law passed. No hanging out the window and they have to have a harness that the seat belt hooks to.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
But it's okay for a cat to hang out
dang
What if my dog identifies as a cat?
Good Monday morning mortske🎉
Howdy
I can attest to the steering sector holding up the cab in a rusty bump side.
We had a '67 F100 that I used to commute back and forth to town when I was 16 working for my uncle on the farm.
Luckily the rag joint sheared only a block from the house one morning, and I was able to push it back to a safe spot.
Sketchy!
Wow other than the new hantavirus outbreak that glove box was a real gold mine! Hats off to you and the Duff, another great video man.
Thanks!
Mortske Minute was great. So was celebrity quote which followed. Genius.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Back to our weekly “Scheduled” programming 👍🏻
Yeah I'm not shocked that the 240 started up . Thanks for the great video and good luck with the storm . You and Duff stay warm and safe.
Thanks 👍
Who knew adopting the right dog would make you a star. Enjoying your content. Thanks again.
🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕👍
Loving the Mortske minute!
Glad to hear it!
Damn it Mortske! I have been drinking coffee for 40 years! It all started in the undercroft of our Church when my Sunday school teacher "Looked the other way" as I joined the "adult" line for donuts and... Coffee!
You'll be fine!
And another one lives. Freaking awesome. Your pulling out the medical bag. And bringing them back to life, one by one. Keep up the great work
Every time someone says 1993 was 30 years ago... I have a hard time internalizing that.
Thanks for the Mortske Minute...don't forget the Acme Rocket Skates..
Missed that one!
When I worked at Centric Parts We put that Prop 65 on every single auto part we sold. Ultimately we had it printed on all the packaging so we didn’t waste time with a sticker. Total waste of time.
Yuck
Good morning Mort and Duff. Those old Ford 6's are hard to beat. Wish you were closer to me, I would like to have that drive train for my 62. Oh well that's life. Great program as always, take care and be safe. 👍
You just can't kill an inline six, great video Mortske as always.
I love how Duff looks so thoughtful about each item as you're going through the glove box. That is hilarious.
I've been enjoying the Mortske Minutes!
Awesome!
Love this CHANNEL Love ya Duff if it can run again this man can do it 😁👍👍👍
This cool truck man
@@sethosborne6250 NEVER Forget, as my POPP used to Say. When it Comes to Fords you 2 of them too keep one of them running.
Thanks Mary!
Another great video, it runs nice too bad the old bump dent bumpside is so crispy. 👍✌️🇺🇲
Another wonderful Monday. More snow and a new video 👍🇺🇸
Man-o- Man!! Bernie is a good runner in the cold! Pretty impressive!
Bernie is awesome! I want one! Great channel,I think Duff could help out a little more.
Keep The content coming love it. You are amazing but Duff well he is terrific.😁
Will do!
Loving the Mortske Minute
Had a 1972 FORD F-100
240 3 on the tree. Red with chrome bumpers and grill. Bought it from an old farmer that only used it for going to church and grocery shopping. I bought it in 1987 and it was in mint comdition. Just a couple of scratches on the box floor. Wish I still had that old FERD.
God bless america.
Can't use a tow truck like that on today's plastic cars. P.S. love the FoMoCo content.
We can try!
@@MortskeRepair 😆
You can do it. You just can't do it without destroying the plastic "bumper."
@@thenonoman worth a shot!
How about a Duff minute ? I'm sure he has some concerns working in the shop with you .
He's pretty quiet
Duff might call OSHA. No Duff media...
I think prop 65 stickers are on everything at harbor freight 😂
no doubt
LOL absolutely love your Mortske minutes and those "brought to you by" places. LMFAO Another great video, thanks for such awesome content Mortske!
I always enjoy the “Mortske Minute” and I agree, its a lotta label ridiculousness but, there has been some good come out of it.
Definitely a local 49 sticker in the window. Would say brotherhood of operating engineers around the outside
I love how you annnnnddddd Duff ducked when the tire exploded!!!!!
Probably a steal for the drivetrain.. It does need a tune up and a carb kit, but considering how pretty much SHOT the bottom of that trucks is, I'm thinking that motor had a pretty recent (in miles at least) overhaul. Runs really good. Great video this week again Mortske, thanks for the motivation to get my ass back to work on my projects. I hate the cold (and I'm nowhere NEAR as north as you are) but Spring is coming!!
36:56 For some unfathomable reason, the company I retired from was a customer of Lawson Products which, by the way, was about 20 to 40% more expensive than buying the same product locally. Everything that came in a plastic baggie had one of those silly inserts in the bag. I could never figure out how a brass fitting that got installed on, for example, a skid steer could cause reproductive harm particularly to the many millenials we had working there when most were, for the most part, walking erections. 🤔😂😂
hahaha
😂😂
This proud elder owner of a 72 F250 enjoys your garage shenanigans. Keep on truckin'.
Right on
Sam eat some snow and then describe the truck, it works 60% of the time 100% of the time. 👨🔧
The Waynes World flashback transitions never get old 😆
I love the wrecker. And the old 68 Ford.
My vote is put the 240 in the Bronco
I had a buddy in the early 1980s that peed on an electric fence by accident then tripped and fell on it holly crap it was the funniest thing I have ever seen I am 56 now and will never forget it still gives me a good laugh today 😭😭😭
If this Mechanicing thing doesn’t Pan Out, News Journalist! You are a Natural and I ain’t Kiddin
Yes it does sound like it. LOL
Just video of wrecker days!! Wooo. All in.
I appreciate the Mortske minute very much. Always love learning.
I heart all mortske's videos!! Watched em all and will watch everyone! Thank you!!
Mondays with Mortske is always something I look forward to. Kick back and watch some quality content from ol' Mortske and Duff. Keep up the good work man!
I fell ASLEEP during the Mortske minute! I went to bed and when I went to finish the video it was on the Mortske minute lol. I hope you can keep me going thru the 2nd half
The comment about the wrecker exhaust got me thinking. You. used to see some of them old 1 ton gasser wreckers that had stacks. I’m not a big fan of gassers with stacks, but in the case of a wrecker it serves a purpose. I will say that I have a 1954 Ford F 600 cab and chassis that I think might possibly maybe probably get a set of stacks with tink tinks😂 I will admit though small, a 239 y block sounds pretty mean with no manifolds. For the record that wrecker is mint👌
I understand and have benefited from warning labels. Before the label came out warning me not to do it I had stuck my hand under lawnmowers at least 5-6 times.
My new fender bass guitar came covered in prop 65 labels lol, oh and keep the mortise minute , its awesome !
oh boy
You got me hooked saying test-a-coils. Craziest thing I've seen a prop 65 warning on was my son's teether ring. This may cause harm but it also will help your baby's gums.
Mortske & Duff geter did once again! Ty as always.
Great video. I'm glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Will do!
Hey Mortske and Duff 👋, thanks for the great start to Monday morning. As always great video. Have a great week ahead. 👍
Same to you!
Those are good looking trucks, especially tucking tire like it was with the 5000lbs of oil on the back.
Another great Mortske Monday.
living in Commifornia I can honestly say I feel so much better when ever I leave the state, my cancer goes away and my nuts drop back down 😃
Bahaha
Shots fired at the tow rolla 😅😅😅
It's Friday today. Finally,a Mortske Repair video to make my day
No snakes? I’m rethinking whether or not I want to live in North Dakota now.
totally worth it!
Another great video. I love Mortske Monday. Best part of the day. Have a great week brother!
Same to you!
Mortske minute is awesome! second best thing about the show, even if the topic was (ew) California. Duff #1 of course
love those old fords. and, how duff knows three second before the donuts, to lean into the slide. thnx Mort.
Doesn’t look like you need any more snow. That engine really runs smooth.👍👍
She's got a lot of good parts for sure! The grille and dash look great. And seems like a good drivetrain
The Mortske minute segment gets better ever video, Kudos.
Love the videos, shoutout to duff!
Thanks!
Excellent video Mortske!
Good lookin' truck, Duff is #1 in the exploration of #2! Thanks for making my Monday.
hahaha
Hey Mortske: For a '68 Ford that's been sitting idle for over 20 years; you sure did a helluva job getting it running.... Couple of other adjustments and you;ve got a sellable rig... From the home of PB Blaster Silicone spray... Cleveland, Ohio... (Worth a couple of sammitches for the labor)
Great job Mortske! Thanks for the entertainment!
OUr pleasure Jeff!
Morning Mojo!
Morning Thomas!
Morning Duff Dog! Thanks for another great video
Howdy!
Thanks for the inline 6 content! Stay warm mortske
Will do!
We'll Mr Mortske, been watching your show for almost two years now. It's been a pleasure with your goofy wit and all, (just a little humor). Iong enough to even notice where you've improved as the shows go on. Keep up the good work! I'll be watching you lol.
Very much appreciated!
Another great video Thanks Mortske
Our pleasure Joe!
That tailpipe adjustment need to be placed somewhere of the very beginning of each piece of art you make!😎👍👍👍 Great as always! Keep this stuff coming!!!
Good video Mortske... Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Same to you!
You know I like Fords! 🙂
Morski Monday. Great something to watch tonight.
Great video yet again, you’re the man Mortske… I’m watching for the men hoodies and/or knit caps to show up in the store…
Enjoyed your outtakes😂😂 Than for sharing Mortske🗿
That 6 banger sounds great
Great video! Loved the bloopers. Bump, bump
With all that rust it is the rare custom AirFlow design to keep you cool in summer
Impressed someone that knows how to back-up hook up sling to car/truck .. do it properly very nice
